"Hey, Steven! I know I have been really busy but I wanted to hang out with you!! It been so long since we hanged out together," Connie said happily

Steven just looked down as he remembered the events that happened a couple of months ago...

Flashback (a few months ago)

Steven, like an idiot, had started to like Connie. He would often visit her despite her being almost always busy. He started to feel like Connie would get annoyed with him. She would sigh whenever he came to visit her during her study break. Or would secretly roll her eyes when he talked unless he talked about gem stuff. Maybe it was Steven's imagination. Maybe he was just feeling sensitive about everything.

I mean who wouldn't hate me...

He blocked those thoughts out of his head.

I'm imagining things..

She doesn't hate me. We're best friends

We've been through so much together...

He tried to convince himself. Then one day he was taking a walk around beach city when he saw Connie. He decided to sneak up on her when he overheard her conversation with one of her friends.

"Yeah I know he can be annoying but he's like a gem and his life is the only thing that kept me entertained when I was younger," Connie had said

" I can't just throw away our friendship. I won't be able to visit the other gems and stuff or go on missions anymore," Connie said to whoever was on the phone.

" I know he's probably in love with me or something but still he's pretty nice so I'm okay with it well I'm going so bye," Connie said then hung up. Steven looked down shocked. He messaged connie.

Steven: Hey Connie I had to go help some gems so i wont be able to hangout today Im sorry see you next time

Steven texted Connie then left with tears.

End of flashback

"Yeah it's been a long time... Connie," Steven said, his eyes dead.

NOTE: Yeah i always felt this in the show to be honest but you never know till I finish the seriess. This chapters a bit short..
