Your POV:
It's been a few days since the incident with Lance. I had no idea that he felt that way towards me. Even if I were to feel the same way, it could never happen. My reputation would be tarnished.
I sit at my desk, barely able to concentrate. I sigh and swing my chair around and look out the window.
"What has happened to my life?" I ask myself, resting my head on my hand and looking up at the sky.
I see that the once bright blue sky is now shrouded by dark grey clouds, meaning a storm is about to hit.
"I've always loved storms anyway.." I swing back around and get back to working on my papers.
*Knock Knock*
"Come in" I put my pen down and look up to the door.
Lance walks in and bows.
"Mistress I have a letter for you" he puts it on the desk.
We look at each other for awhile and he bows once more and walks out.
"Will this ever stop being awkward?" I sigh and open the letter.
"Dear (Y/n),
I'm just writing to say that it was upsetting that you didn't come to the dinner I invited you to. I really wish to talk to you and just start over. If your able to, meet me in the town gardens tonight at 8pm. I really hope to see you there
-Ciel Phantomhive"
"What on earth.." I stand and walk out of my study.
I walk to the kitchen where Lance is preparing Lunch.
"Lance did Ciel send an invite to dinner at all this week?" I lean against the counter.
"No.. Why do you ask..?" He looks down and continues cooking.
"Because I just received a letter from him about a dinner invite I never accepted.." I hold up the letter.
He glances at the letter and sighs. He turns to me and knees down and puts a hand on his heart.
"Sebastian was here a few days ago because Lord Phantomhive wanted him to verbally invite you to dinner that evening. I did not tell you about this. I apologise." He stands straight, keeping his eyes to the ground.
"Lance.." He looks up at me.
"Yes Mistress?" He looks down again and adjusts his gloves.
"Your fired.."
