*A few weeks later*

"I had her Claude.."

"You know I care about you, right (Y/n)?"

"I know Alois"

"I had her in my arms.."

As I kiss her my heart flutters. But that soon ends when the guilt of my past actions flood through me. I push it away and pull her closer to me.

"AND I SCREWED EVERYTHING UP!" I slam my fists down onto my desk and hold my head in my hands.

"Calm down Your Highnes-" before he can finish I stand and slap him with all my strength.

"DON'T TELL ME TO CALM DOWN" I walk to the window and look out at the garden.

Claude sighs and adjusts his glasses. He walks to me and puts a hand on my shoulder.

"I just want to be normal Claude.." I look up at him, tears forming.

He kneels down and holds my face.

"I'm sure she will forgive you Your Highness.."

"S-She will?" I sniff and wipe a tear away.

"Of course" he stands and straightens out his tail coat.

"Okay!" He chimes and bounces up and away.

Claude's POV:

I watch as Alois runs down the hall.

"Anything to shut him up.." I mumble and get on with the daily chores.

Lance's POV:

While Mistress works, I decide to head to town and get some more tea. As I walk out to prepare the carriage I see another carriage coming down the driveway. It stops when it reaches the front manor and I recognise the driver as Sebastian, Ciels butler.

"Good day Lance" Sebastian says, stepping down from the drivers seat.

"Sebastian, what are you doing here? I didn't receive word that you were visiting today.." I say, slightly annoyed.

"Yes, my apologies, my master sent me over to invite Lady (Y/n) to dinner this evening. It is a bit last minute but my Master wishes for her to attend." He smiles brightly.

"Why not just send a letter?" I cross my arms.

"My Master said it would mean more if I came here and verbally invited (Y/n)"

"I see, I'll have to ask my Mistress if that's okay. I'll get back to you within an hour, thank you Sebastian" I say and then get into the carriage.

Sebastian gets on his carriage and leaves and I leave to go into town and fetch more tea.

~Timeskip~

Your POV:

I finish up with my paper work and look to the clock to see its about 3. I stand and stretch and make my way to the library.

"Hm, what to read today.." I mumble to myself as I scan the bookshelves for a book to read.

A book titled  "Forbidden Love" catches my eye. I pick it up and sit down.

"Alright then.." I say, opening the book.

I begin reading and after about 20 minutes the door is opened by Lance. He steps in and bows.

"What are you reading Mistress?" He says, walking to my side.

I laugh and flip over the page.

"It's quite silly really. It's a book about a Maid and her Master falling in love and running away together. How ludicrous.." I laugh.

"Yes.. Quite so.." He looks down. "I'll be going now. Dinner is in a few hours and I wish to make sure everything is up to your standards.."  And without another word, he bows and walks out.

I watch as he walks out.

"Somethings up with him.." I shrug it off and continue reading the book.
