graduating and reuniting

WITH LIVING IN HEIGHTS ALLIANCE on the U.A campus, Bakugo's relationship with y/n started strong. They were texting every day, calling every week, and keeping each other up to date with everything.

But as the months went by, their relationship started to crumble.

It wasn't their feelings for each that broke, but it was their priorities. Bakugo was busy with training, interning, and hero work, along with his studies.

Y/n was also tied up with her band, online school, and helping her parents with their catering company.

For the holidays, the students were allowed to go back home for the day. So on Thanksgiving, Bakugo excitedly returned to his house, the first thing him wanting to do was visit y/n.

"Oh, sorry Katsuki." Masaru apologized to his son. "Y/n and her family went back to Haiti to visit their relatives for the holidays."

After that, Bakugo was upset with y/n for not telling him that she left, so he didn't even want to talk to her.

When summer rolled back around, the two of them talked every once in a while to catch up, but both seemed to avoid talking about their friendship, and their connection.

As Thanksgiving rolled back around, y/n's family was home! So Bakugo ran to their door, expecting
y/n open it.

But it was Samuel.

"She didn't tell you?...She moved to Tokyo on a record deal. Her and her band are making big moves!"

"...She's...

gone?"

"Next up, Katsuki Bakugo!"

The crowd clapped as the boy walked across the stage in his graduation gown, him shaking hands with Mr.Aizawa as he handed Bakugo his diploma.

Bakugo turned to the crowd and bowed, Mitsuki taking multiple pictures with her phone. Masaru clapped proudly, tears forming in his eyes.

As Bakugo scanned the crowd as he walked to the exit of the stage, he noticed a certain woman leave the gym, his intuition stabbing at his brain. No way...

Is that you...

...Huh...So you graduated...

y/n
Baku?

"Smile!" Momo held her phone up to Bakugo, Sero, Denki, and Kirishima, them huddled together to take a photo. "...Bakugo, smile!"

Bakugo sighed, forcing a small grin.

The phone clicked, the boys dispersing exhaustedly as they had been holding their poses. "We finally graduated!!" Denki shouted exitedly, him and Kirishima high fiving one another.

"I'm surprised you even walked across the stage without tripping." Jirou laughed through her hand, taunting him.

As the class chatted with one another happily about their accomplishment, Bakugo felt a buzz in his pocket. He reach into his gown, pulling out his phone to see who was calling him.

y/n

"Bakugo, aren't you—Hey, where are you going?!" Sero turned behind him to ask his friend a question, but Bakugo had whipped around and charged out of the auditorium.

He pushed open the glass double doors, jogging onto the sidewalk in the warm spring heat. He answered the phone, scanning the parking lot. "Y/n? Y/n is that you?"

"...Over here."

He heard her voice in the phone and outside, him turning to his right to see y/n walking out of her car and onto the sidewalk. She gave him a small smile, along with a tiny wave. "...Hey."

She looked different, but in the best way possible. Her curls sat pretty on her shoulders, them shining under the radiant sun. She looked more mature, as she now had taken out her septum and cartilage piercings. Even her skin was glowing brighter, and her stance was as powerful as ever.

Bakugo's mouth parted open in shock, unsure if he should hug her, kiss her, or be upset with her. There was just so many unsettling emotions that he had piled up inside of him about her, but now that she was there...

he suddenly didn't know what to say.

"...Wanna go get something to eat?" Y/n asked kindly, pointing her thumb back to her car.

"...Really? Donuts?" Bakugo puzzled as y/n sat back inside the car, returning with a box of donuts and two coffees.

"You don't remember? This was the first place we ate at together!" She reminicesed, sitting the box on his lap and setting the coffees in the cup holders as she closed her door.

Bakugo turned to look out the front window, reading the name of the bakery shop. "Huh...it is." He whispered.

There was a long silence between them, the tension thick enough the be cut with a knife. Who would speak up first?

"...Y/n-"
"...Bakugo-"

The two turned to each other, before bursting into laughter, the tension breaking like a glass window.

"S-Sorry, you go first." Y/n chuckled, wiping tears from her eyes.

"No, go ahead. I didn't really have something specific, anyway."

Y/n gazed at him quietly before taking in a deep breath, her leaning back into her car seat. "I, uh...I actually quit the band."

Bakugo turned to her, genuinely surprised that those were the words to come out of her mouth. "You did? Why? I thought you had a record deal?"

"We all just wanted different things. Jaden is still in high school, Alex wanted to become an engineer, Ai wanted to try out college again...it was just this huge mess so we broke it off..."

"..Sorry..."

"Naaah don't be! In fact...I actually got a job as an astronomers assistant over in the Musutafu Aerospace Firm! I finished online college a few months ago, so when the band broke up, it gave me the perfect opportunity to get a job I'm most passionate about; the stars."

Bakugo felt himself grin, the corners of his mouth lifting. "...That's great."

"Yeah...yeah it is..." She suddenly turned to him, making Bakugo jerk back. "I'm so sorry, Bakugo!"

"Huh? About what?"

"I...I drifted from you. I didn't want to, but I was so busy with the band, and doing extra classes, that a relationship was the last thing I needed. I know I should've told you, but I didn't want to hurt you. So I put space between us, hoping that would solve everything but...

...but that was the worst decision I've ever made. I regret it so much, not talking to you. I thought about you all the time, but I felt like I couldn't take back what I did. So....I'm really sorry...but...

I want us to give us another shot!"

Bakugo's eyes widened. "...Y-"

"Wait, don't say anything!" She lifted her finger to hush him, making Bakugo furrow his brows irritably. She reached into her purse, pulling out...

a box of strawberry pocky.

Bakugo could feel his heart start to pound as she opened the box, taking out a single stick of the treat.

She held the candy between their faces, her dark eyes gazing softly into his red ones. "...If you want to give us another shot...Feel free to use this to tell me." She whispered.

With that invitation, Bakugo snatched the pocky from her hand, breaking it into two with his thumb.

Y/n lightly gasped as she watched the treat crumble, falling into the cracks between the seat. "...What the-"

"I don't need the pocky." He whispered.

He grabbed her chin and pulled her to him, his lips pummeling into hers. Moans of surprise escaped
y/n's mouth, his hungry tongue already forcing his way into her.

Their minds were clouded and filled with desire, kissing one another as if they had never been torn apart in the first place.

Y/n climbed over to his seat, straddling his strong body and cupping his face. His calloused hands traced down her waist to her thighs, his thumbs pressing into his hips as he held her down.

She could smell his fancy cologne as he moved from her lips to her jawline, him placing his hand on the back of her head and pulling it to the side to give him full access to her neck.

She could feel him nibble and suck on her skin, his love bites sure to leave a bruise. He groaned quietly against her neck, y/n's nails digging into his back.

"You...You really missed me, huh?" Y/n smirked, his hands slowly going down her torso and slipping under her shirt, his cold hands wrapping around her stomach.

"I have to make up...

for lost time."
