Y/n POV

Location: Haven

We finally made it to Haven, after all this walking from the start, we finally made it. Well, I almost died trying to save Qrow, but I managed to get medical treatment. I got my stitches off this morning before we head to go see the professor. It felt good to get those off of me. Me and the others were walking in some type of tunnel where Qrow was leading the way.

Qrow: The city of Mistral.

Nora: *Ugh* It's about time!

You: Patients Nora.

Nora: Who side are you on?

You: I'm on your side.

Nora: Well, okay. Whose idea was it to walk again?

Ren: Well, we did face many obstacles. Broken airships, destroyed settlements...

Jaune: Oh, and, you know, all those people and monsters that tried to MURDER US?

Ruby: *Pfft* We were fine; only one of us almost died.

Nora looked at Ren.

Ren: Hey.

Then Ruby looked at me with a smile with her hands on her hips.

You: Hey.

Ruby then giggled and put her head on my shoulder and I giggled with her.

Jaune: So how much farther to Haven Academy?

Qrow: Almost there. Kind of figured I'd take you kids on the scenic route.

You: And, what do you mean by that?

Qrow: You'll see.

We then kept on walking until we saw big double doors in front of us. Qrow opened the doors for the light to shine from the sun. Ruby then went ahead of us.

You: Hey, come back here.

I playfully said to her and followed her. We stopped by a balcony and we saw the most beautiful view I have never seen before. We saw the waterfall and the view of the entire city of Mistral.

Ruby: Wow! This. Is. Awesome!

BD-1: Wooooooop!

You: Yeah, you said it buddy.

Qrow: It's certainly something.

Ruby: Oh my gosh, look at all the weapons!

You: I don't think I saw you like this ever since we first went to Beacon.

Qrow: Vendors here will sell you just about anything, whether they should or not.

Jaune: They really made the most out of these mountains.

Qrow: Every inch. And stay away from the lower levels, but the higher up you go, the nicer it gets.

Nora: And we are going up!

(Timeskip)

We finally made it to the Academy of Haven. We were walking outside in the courtyard to head inside. I was looking around to see the trees and the buildings all around us, this place is amazing. I then noticed BD wasn't on my back. I looked around and saw him scanning at one of the buildings.

You: Hey, don't fall behind!

BD-1: Bwoop-boop!

BD went back on me and proceed to follow the others. Ruby then stopped in front of a building that what appears to be the Academy. She wiped a tear off her left eye and admire the view of the building. I went up to her and put my hand on her shoulder.

Ruby: We made it.

You: Yes we did.

We both smiled at the view and proceed to enter the building.

We were walking down the hallway in the school, but there's no one here, that's strange.

Ruby: Hello?

Ruby was calling out to anyone that's in here, but no one responded or heard her.

Ruby: HELLOO??

Nora: Maybe try... louder?

You: That doesn't do the trick, there's no point doing it again.

Ren: There doesn't seem to be anyone here.

Jaune: Well, I guess school isn't really in session now. Maybe that's it.

Qrow: No, this isn't right... C'mon.

Qrow went ahead of us.

Ruby: Wait for us!

You: Stay on guard BD.

BD-1: Beep-boop.

We then went to catch up with Qrow. We then ended up in front of double doors in front of us.

Qrow: Get ready. It could be trouble.

Qrow said while taking out his weapon and the others did the same, and so did I. I got my lightsaber and activate it to go in a blocking stance. Qrow then kicked the door open to reveal a man, I bet he's the headmaster.

???: AH!

RNJR&You: AHHH!!!

After we all screamed in surprised, Qrow lost his balance and hit the floor while the man in front of us fainted, but not unconscious.

You: Well, this is not what I expected to go as planned.

Ruby: Uh... Professor... Lionheart?

Lionheart then sat up from when he fell.

Lionheart: QROW! For crying out loud, you nearly scared me half to death.

Qrow grunts and got up where he fell.

Qrow: Me? Why weren't you waiting for us at the entrance?

Lionheart: Huh?

Lionheart then took out his pocket watch to see the time.

Lionheart: OH, right. Apologise. I guess time slipped away from me.

Lionheart then put away his watch and got up.

Qrow: You're joking.

Nora: Where is everybody?

Nora said while we put away our weapons, I deactivated my lightsaber and clipped it to my belt.

Lionheart: Ah, you must be the students Qrow mentioned.

Ruby: Yes, sir! Heh. Ruby Rose.

She said while saluting.

Jaune: Jaune Arc.

Nora: Nora Valkyrie.

Ren: Lie Ren.

You: Y/n L/n. And this is my little friend, BD-1.

BD-1: Bwoop!

Lionheart: (Chuckle) A pleasure to meet you all. Leonardo Lionheart, at your service.

He said while bowing his head a little bit.

Lionheart: I'm afraid most of my staff is currently away until classes resume, but--

Qrow: What!? Leo you can't be serious. Who's guarding the relic!?

Lionheart: Qrow! The children--

Qrow: Already know. I filled them in. What do you mean your staff is away?

Lionheart: You... filled them in?

There was a short moment of silence until Nora spoke.

Nora: So... is this not going at all like anyone thought it would?

You: Your question is as good as mine Nora.

A few minutes later

We were all gathered in Lionheart's office. Nora and Ren were sitting on a couch while me, Ruby and Jaune were standing. I was standing in the middle in next to Ruby.

Lionheart: I have to say Qrow, this all seems very reckless, even for you.

Qrow: No, reckless is leaving one of the relics completely unguarded. It's not checking in with Oz for ages.

Lionheart: There was nothing to check in about before the Fall of Beacon. But since that day, Mistral has been in chaos!

Lionheart said while getting up from his chair, looking at Qrow with a serious face.

Lionheart: Vale wasn't the only kingdom to suffer that night. Everyone was watching. Every house in every kingdom saw that poor girl ripped to pieces, saw monsters crawling over the city, Atlesian knights attacking citizens... and then nothing.

I noticed Ruby was sad that she heard Penny got torn apart in the tournament. I went go cheer her up by hugging her and she hugged me back. Why did he had to bring that up, we've all been through a lot already.

Lionheart: You could feel the dread in the air. With all that negativity, you could imagine what it was like when the Grimm came for us.

Lionheart went to one of the windows and looked outside from inside the academy.

Lionheart: Mistral's controlled territory is the wildest reaching y'know, and that makes it infinitely harder to protect. We lost so many great huntsmen, teachers from this very institution, and it's only gotten worse.

Ruby: W-What do you mean?

Ruby said while breaking the hug.

Lionheart: We may have delt with the Grimm, but the Mistral council's still at odds with representatives from Atlas. First, it was the dust embargo. Now, it's the closing of borders. I'm not sure what happened to James in Vale, but it seems to have only worsened some of his more... unfortunate tendencies. And, on top of everything, we still don't know where the Spring Maiden is.

Qrow: All the more reason we need the huntsmen and huntresses here.

Ruby: Okay! Okay.

Ruby then went up to calm down Leo and Qrow.

Ruby: Things are bad. They're bad. But we can figure this out. Why is the Spring Maiden so important?

Lionheart then looked at Qrow.

Lionheart: I thought you filled them in?

Qrow: Mostly filled. Look, there's a lot to cover, okay? I quit teaching for a reason.

Qrow said while taking out his flask and drink from it and finished. Lionheart sat back down in his chair behind his desk.

Lionheart: The Four Maidens each have the power to perform feats of magic, and they are the only capable of reaching the relics.

Jaune: What?

Qrow: The relics are each locked inside a chamber that can only be opened by a specific maiden. Winter for the gift of creation, Summer for destruction, Fall for choice, and Spring for knowledge.

Qrow said while drinking from his flask again and then finished.

Qrow: Spring is the problem.

You: So, they're the key to opening the vaults.

Qrow: Correct.

Ren: What happened to her?

There was a moment of silence until Lionheart spoke to break the silence.

Lionheart: She was determined at first when she inherited her powers, but the weight of responsibility proved to be too much for the child. She... ran. Abandoned her training, every one.

Just like Blake. When she ran away, she couldn't keep seeing her friends die, even us.

Lionheart: That was over a decade ago. There's no telling where she could be now.

You: She's been gone for ten years?

Lionheart: Yes.

Qrow: I know. At least, I have a pretty good idea.

Lionheart: Are you serious?

Lionheart said while he got up from his chair again and walking to Qrow.

Qrow: It's not exactly good news.

Lionheart: What are you talking about? This is incredible news! After all these years? Where?!

Leo said while he put his hands on Qrow's shoulders while he got Lionheart off of him.

Qrow: I did some digging around. Looks like after Spring ran away, she was caught by bandits. Specifically, the Branwen tribe.

Lionheart: Raven.

Ruby gasped from what she heard.

Jaune: Yang's mom?

Qrow: That's right.

Qrow said while taking out his Scroll showing a holographic map and marking the location where Raven is.

Qrow: That's about where they've set up their main camp. It's where they fall back to after raids and scout missions. Raven's managed to gain a lot of followers since she returned to the tribe. And I'm sure when the Spring Maiden showed up it only made things easier.

Lionheart: Well Qrow, I've got to hand it to you. With these coordinates, we can mount a retrieval and head out in a few weeks.

Qrow: A few weeks?

Lionheart then copied the coordinates, why did he do that?

Lionheart: That's right.

Qrow: Leo, maybe you didn't hear me. My sister has the Spring Maiden and I know where she is. We need to go as soon as possible!

Qrow said while pushing away a few books on Lionheart's desk.

Lionheart: And perhaps you didn't hear me. This kingdom is in shambles. As soon as possible does not mean tommorow, it means as soon as I can convince the council that I need huntsmen more than they do. Unfortunately, bandit tribes aren't very high on their list of "priorities" when the threat of war is just on the horizon.

Qrow: Then damn the council, we'll do it ourselves. You and I are trained huntsman, and these kids aren't exactly pushovers. Especially the new kid that is very skilled with that weapon of his.

Nora: Yeah!

Ren: Perhaps there's a more peaceful way to approach this?

You: I agree with Ren.

Qrow: We need get Spring as far away as possible, but Raven isn't going to give up her prize possession without a fight.

Lionheart: Unfortunately, you and your sister are evenly matched, and I'm not the fighter I used to be. No offense, but these students and I can't take on an entire bandit tribe and a Maiden that's no longer had doubt had years to hone her skills. We need to be positive we can apprehend Spring, because if we fail, Raven and her tribe will scatter and we'll be lost. We get ONE shot at this. And it needs to be perfect.

There was a few seconds of silence, until Qrow sighed at Lionheart's words.

Qrow: You know, Oz wouldn't be happy with any of this if he were here.

Lionheart: Perhaps you're right. But he's not and I'm doing the very best I can.

Ruby: There has to be something we can do?

Jaune: What about Cinder? She came with Emerald and Mercury from Haven. Do you have anything on them?

Lionheart: We've pulled their files after the fall of Beacon. Nothing but lies and forgeries.

Jaune clenched his hands into fists that he was angry for what he can't get information on Cinder.

You: She's probably still after me after what I did to her.

Ruby: What do you mean?

You: When Cinder killed Pyrrha, I was in so much anger that I wanted to kill her badly like Jaune. Heh, she was no match for me.

Jaune: What did you do to her?

You: I made her regret for what happened to Pyrrha. I was in so much rage when I was fighting her. I cut her left eye, and I cut off her left arm. I did some of it for Pyrrha, but I left her to live for now. If I killed her now, then I won't be better than them. I know you want her dead Jaune, but I don't think killing Cinder will bring Pyrrha back.

Jaune: Why should I? She killed her.

You: Just think about it, okay?

Jaune took a second to speak to me.

Jaune: *sigh* Okay.

Qrow: Well, I can't say this has been a warm reunion, Leo.

Lionheart: I'm sorry. I know you've all traveled a long way. But I will do everything I can to help.

Qrow: Sure. We'll stay in the city for the time being. Local comms are still up. Keep in touch.

Qrow said while showing his Scroll to Lionheart and we started to leave.

Qrow: C'mon kids.

We were heading out to the exit, until Ruby stopped to say something to the Lionheart.

Ruby: It was nice meeting you, Professor.

You: Same.

Lionheart: Likewise.

Me and Ruby exited the office to follow Qrow down the hallway to exit the building.

Nora: So, what do we do now?

You: To be honest, I don't know.

Qrow: You five head back to the house. I need a drink.

You: Like you always do Qrow.

Qrow then walked away from us and we looked at each other for a few seconds.

You: Come on, we should do what he said.

I took point to lead the others to head back to the house that we stayed at for the night.

(Timeskip)

We were at the house that we stood in for the entire time and had nothing to do. I was taking a walk around the house, but then I saw a workbench.

BD-1: Bwoop?

BD got off my back and to the workbench, this device can make him go up a zipline.

You: You wanna climb up a zipline?

BD-1: Boop!

You: Alright, let's get to work.

I got out my blow torch and did the upgrade on BD-1. I did a few of this, and a few of that on him. After I that, I finished with the upgrade on BD.

You: What do you think?

BD jumped up in happiness that he was excited to test this out.

You: Hehe.

I looked behind me to see the hallway that the front door was to the exit.

You: Wanna try it out?

BD-1: Woop!

I smiled at him knowing that he can't wait to try out the new upgrade. He got on my back and we headed to the front door to head outside.

Jaune: Hey, where are you going?

You: I'm just gonna be out for a few minutes, BD wants to test out the new upgrade that I added to him. I won't be long, bye!

I quickly said and exited the house. I went outside to a nearby town and saw a perfect line that goes up right back to the house, BD then got on the zipline for him to wait for me to get on.

You: You ready to try this out?

BD-1: Wooop!

You: Okay, here we go.

I jumped on and hold on to BD tight and he started to go up the zipline.

You: WOOOHOOOO!

BD-1: Bwoop-beeeeeep!

After a few more seconds, we then started to go back to the house.

You: LOOK OUT BELOW!

Me and BD let go of the zipline and went to the ground and I saw that the doors were open. I dropped down and did a safety roll, but the roll failed and I hit the floor in the house. The others saw me coming out of no where. I laughed knowing that it was fun what BD and me did.

You: That. Was. Awesome!

???: Um... are you okay there?

You: Yeah, I'm okay. I just jumped off from a zipline and BOOM! I'm back here!

I laughed a little bit, but then I realized that there was someone else in the house. I got up and take a good look at the person who was in here, I'm assuming that he was wearing what appears to be a farm outfit.

You: I'm sorry, who are you?

BD then got back on me and looked confused as well.

Oscar: Well, my name is Oscar Pine. But, I'm Professor Ozpin.

My eyes widened in shock that the Oscar said that he's Professor Ozpin, he's alive?

You: Wait, what? But, I thought Ozpin died back in Beacon.

Ruby: Yeah, we know that too.

I then noticed Qrow was on the ground passed out drunk.

You: Oh, for goodness sake Qrow!
