The saying every martial arts master knows about

„The purest Form of self-defense is, to make friends with the ones out to kill you."

A slim sense of warm serenity expelled itself from the presence of the long haired Octoling. Arms crossed, back turned to his student, and hands clapped together, brimming with both peace and silence.

"Stop the conflict before it can begin.
That is the mindset of a martial artist."

He turns around, and then proceeds to nonchalantly summarize his version of the saying.

„And if you ask me, that is a load of bullshit."

„Though it's about the state of mind, right? The saying tells to train yourself to attain that kind of mind set."

„Katou - Why do you have to go all „Honor's Student" on me? The people who used to say things like that, the people we call Masters today - They raised all kinds of hell back in *their* day.
And the moment they become old, they all begin talking like they are some kind of saint.
That is what I can't stand."

Katou's mentor concluded, under clenched teeth and a near-closed, narrowed glance - Smiling faintly. All happening, in a near-empty Dojo, one which Katou's mentor claims to have owned for quite some time now. Although the lack of a sign for the Dojo's name - Gave the bearer of the epithet „The Monster of Alterna" an idea as to how the modest Karateka prodigy before him got himself an empty Dojo all by himself, uncontended for a broadly colored mountain of reasons.

„But that is a bit of a petty nit-pick though.
Or am I wrong?"
