(ZAKI whistles as she presses a few keys on her computer. Back at the battle pot, the icons for Anarchy Battle Series and Anarchy Battle Open light up.)

Spider-Huh?

Zaki-I know who you are. I even set your rank.

(SPIDER checks the screen. His rank is displayed as B-.)

Spider-B-?

Zaki-I decided to use your Rainmaker rank.

Spider-Thanks, pal.

Zaki-I can't start you out too high. Inkura and Bridgett, I made you both B-, too.

Inkura-Really? Thanks!

(HIRO walks up behind them.)

Hiro-The cool thing about Anarchy Battles is that you have the same rank for all modes. You could go your entire life without playing Rainmaker and still hit S+.

Spider-You think I'm gonna skip Rainmaker? I'm no coward.

(He selects Anarchy Battle Series.)

Spider-Wait, what's today's mode?

Shumi-(from the testing range) Tower Control!

Spider-Whew.

Bridgett-Sounds to me like someone's scared.

Spider-Am not!

Hiro-Be warned, though. If you think Anarchy Battles are anything like Ranked Battles in Inkopolis, you are in for the ride of your life.

(Cut to Inkblot Art Academy. SHIVER and FRYE are commentating.)

Shiver-Here we are at Splatsville's Inkblot Art Academy for another round of Tower Control.

Frye-Team colors are green and purple.

(BRIDGETT, SPIDER, and INKURA are green. BRIDGETT has the Dark Tetra Dualies. HIRO and SHUMI are purple.)

Spider-Hold up. Did you get another new weapon?

Bridgett-Yeah, what of it?

Shiver-Ready...

Shiver/Frye-Go!

(Opening theme. The players shoot onto the arena. BRIDGETT starts covering home base.)

Shiver-Uh, Bridgett. The tower is that way.

Frye-(booth) Why are you complaining? Inkura's doing the same thing.

(BRIDGETT slowly makes her way forward. The tower is now in sight. She throws an Autobomb onto the tower. She covers some ground in the center. Her special finishes charging.)

Bridgett-Aha!

(She activates her Reefslider and slides into the center, splatting HIRO.)

Shiver-Um, she didn't ride it all the way.

Frye-Well, at least she got one splat. In other news, purple now has the tower.

(A purple kid with a Sloshing Machine jumps off the tower. BRIDGETT tries to hit them, but they get away. She throws an autobomb.)

Frye-There's no one on the tower right now, so it's going back to the center.

(BRIDGETT sees SHUMI firing at her.)

Bridgett-Oh no.

(The green kid next to her turns on their Ink Vac.)

Green Kid-I got you covered.

Bridgett-Who are you?

(A Booyah Bomb lands in between them, splatting them both. They respawn.)

Bridgett-What was that?

Frye-Only the biggest, most splatarific, most teamwork-dependent special there is: (booth) THE BOOYAH BOMB! (battlefield) However, it was the Sloshing Machine that splatted you.

(BRIDGETT super jumps to the center behind SPIDER, who is firing at SHUMI. He splats her.)

Bridgett-There we go!

Spider-You literally did nothing.

(BRIDGETT sees the tower over a wall. She throws an Autobomb.)

Shiver-You missed.

(SPIDER begins firing at the tower, but a purple kid has set up a Big Bubbler. The tower moves past Checkpoint 1. SPIDER, BRIDGETT, and the Jet Squelcher kid fire at the tower while playing jump rope with a Killer Wail. The Jet Squelcher kid splats the remaining purple kid on the tower, and BRIDGETT jumps on.)

Shiver-And for the first time in the game, green has the tower.

Frye-Let's see if they can make it past the midpoint. Purple has been aggressive this round.

(BRIDGETT hides in the ink as the tower slides back to center. SPIDER and INKURA pop up next to her.)

Inkura-We're here to back you up.

Bridgett-AH! When did you get here?

(Her special finishes charging. She throws an Autobomb.)

Bridgett-There's nothing that can stop us--

(She gets splatted by HIRO, who's at the base of the tower. SPIDER's next. They respawn.)

Frye-Purple has the tower again!

(BRIDGETT super jumps to a block in the center. The kid with the Sloshing Machine prepares the Booyah Bomb.)

Sloshing Machine-Booyah booyah booyah!

Purple Kids-Booyah booyah booyah!

(The Sloshing Machine kid throws it at the tower.)

Shiver-Despite looking very flashy, the Booyah Bomb has done nothing to sway the game in purple's favor. In fact, they just lost the tower.

Bridgett-Now's my chance!

(She gets splatted from behind by HIRO. She respawns.)

Bridgett-Geez. This is tough competition.

Shiver-Green has the tower!

(BRIDGETT launches onto home base. She dodge-rolls forward and swims the rest of the way. SPIDER is on the tower. He drops a Wave Breaker on the center. She sees HIRO firing at SPIDER and splats him.)

Bridgett-That was me! That was me!

Shiver-Yes, it was. Green is now past Checkpoint 1.

(BRIDGETT throws an Autobomb onto enemy base and runs to the tower.)

Bridgett-You need some backup?

Spider-Couldn't hurt.

(BRIDGETT's special finishes charging.)

Bridgett-Never mind!

(She activates her Reefslider and rams it into the tower. SHIVER and FRYE burst out laughing.)

Frye-(booth) Looks like someone needs a little practice with the Reefslider!

(A Fizzy Bomb lands in front of BRIDGETT.)

Bridgett-Two can play at this game!

(She dodge-rolls away.)

Shiver-The tower's up for grabs! Someone better claim it!

(The Jet Squelcher kid gets their first but gets splatted. INKURA and BRIDGETT get on next.)

Frye-Inkura and Bridgett have successfully moved the tower past Checkpoint 2!

(INKURA gets splatted, followed by BRIDGETT.)

Shiver-And they've both succumbed to direct shots from Shumi.

(They respawn. BRIDGETT super-jumps behind a wall on home base. She runs down a ramp. She hides in the ink when she sees the Sloshing Machine kid preparing a Booyah Bomb.)

Sloshing Machine-Booyah booyah booyah!

Purple Kids-Booyah booyah booyah!

(BRIDGETT dodge-rolls away from the blast and nearly falls off a ledge.)

Bridgett-Ooh. Almost fell in the water.

Frye-The important part is they're still in the lead.

(She sees the tower coming towards her and dodge-rolls away...into the water. SHIVER and FRYE start laughing at her again.)

Frye-(booth, between laughs) Green has the tower again!

(BRIDGETT respawns. She super jumps to the ledge before the center.)

Shiver-Don't you just hate it when your team has a weak link?

Frye-Shiver, don't be rude. This is not the weakest link you could possibly have.

Shiver-The tower's back in the center, anyway. All it needs is for someone to grab it.

(BRIDGETT throws an Autobomb at the tower.)

Shiver-Um, I think it needs to be a person on the tower, not an Autobomb.

Frye-That's her way of saying purple has the tower.

(BRIDGETT throws another Autobomb, then another.)

Frye-Somehow, using only Autobombs, green has been able to take the tower.

Shiver-(booth) That somehow is named Spider.

Bridgett-I've got backup!

(She throws an Autobomb. Her special finishes charging. She rides in on the Reefslider.)

Bridgett-Surprise!

(She gets splatted by SHUMI.)

Shiver-The tower is neutral again.

(BRIDGETT respawns. She super-jumps to the center.)

Shiver-Spider's on the tower, meaning it's in green's possession again.

(BRIDGETT starts covering up some purple.)

Frye-(booth) And Bridgett's busy...playing Turf War.

Shiver-(booth) Welcome to B-rank, everyone.

(BRIDGETT throws an Autobomb at the tower.)

Shiver-That wasn't enough, Bridgett. Green's lost the tower. Now it's purple's.

(BRIDGETT gets splatted by a bomb. She respawns and super jumps right into the middle of a Booyah Bomb's blast radius, somehow surviving. She covers up the purple on home base.)

Shiver-I wonder how long it's gonna take Bridgett to notice the tower coming towards her.

Frye-That's the first rule of the battlefield.

Shiver/Frye-(booth) Be lucid.

(BRIDGETT sees two purple kids further up and swims up a ramp.)

Bridgett-Where is this dude?

(INKURA splats them.)

Bridgett-Thank you.

(She begins firing at SHUMI, who is inside a Big Bubbler.)

Shiver-Hey, doofus!

Frye-She can't hear you.

(BRIDGETT keeps firing at the Bubbler as SHUMI slips out.)

Shiver/Frye-One minute!

(BRIDGETT begins firing in SHUMI's direction, but she's out of sight.)

Shiver-Purple has lost the tower.

(BRIDGETT sees SHUMI in the center and throws an Autobomb at her. The Jet Squelcher kid splats her instead.)

Bridgett-Great!

(She throws an Autobomb at the tower. Her special finishes charging. She rides her Reefslider to the tower, splatting HIRO. She fires at the Sloshing Machine kid. When they start firing back, she dodge-rolls away.)

Shiver-Green has the tower thanks to Inkura.

(BRIDGETT turns away and begins covering up more purple.)

Frye-Purple has the tower, actually.

(BRIDGETT swims to the tower and hides at the base. A fizzy bomb lands next to her. She swims away. Her special finishes charging. She rides in on the Reefslider as the Sloshing Machine kid is preparing a Booyah Bomb.)

Sloshing Machine-Booyah booyah boo--

(BRIDGETT detonates the Reefslider and splats them.)

Frye-And Kaji's Booyah Bomb gets cancelled by Bridgett's Reefslider!

Shiver-Finally, a competent move as a player.

Frye-(booth) Shiver, that's rude, and you know it.

(HIRO starts firing at BRIDGETT. She dodge-rolls out of the way, and INKURA takes her place. She gets splatted by a purple kid with a Splattershot Jr.)

Shiver/Frye-10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4...

(BRIDGETT respawns.)

Shiver/Frye-3, 2, 1, overtime!

(BRIDGETT launches onto home base. She swims in and throws another Autobomb, then another. KAJI with the Sloshing Machine prepares another Booyah Bomb.)

Sloshing Machine-Booyah booyah booyah!

Bridgett-Watch out!

(SPIDER jumps on the tower.)

Shiver/Frye-GAME!

(Fade to the cafe. The gang is sitting together.)

Judd-And the winner is...Team Green!

Bridgett-Ha! I did it!

Hiro-How? You had a problem out there.

Bridgett-Which is...

Hiro-Too many Autobombs.

Bridgett-How is that a problem?

Spider-If you want to win at Tower Control, you've got to get right into the thick of it. Jump onto that tower and stick to it like glue. That's how I got #1 Score Booster.

Bridgett-Oh yeah? Well, I got Record Score Setter.

Spider-You did?

(HIRO's phone begins ringing.)

Hiro-Hold on. I got to take a call.

(He gets up and answers the phone as he walks away.)

Hiro-Hello? Oh, hey, Dad!

Bridgett-Too many Autobombs. There's no such thing!

Inkura-It's been four years, and you still haven't realized you have to get on the tower to progress?

Bridgett-I'm doing the best I can!

Spider-No, you're not. Bridgett, I'm your friend, but you have to start playing the objective. This isn't Turf War.

Bridgett-Look, I might not be playing the objective, but I'm still not used to this big crazy world, even after four years. Before I can get to the tower, I gotta figure out how to fire the dualies.

Inkura-You were genetically engineered for fighting.

Bridgett-Your weapons are very different from ours. Now, the only way to get better is to keep at it! Let's go!

(She runs down the stairs. SPIDER and INKURA follow her.)

Zaki-Hey, guys.

Bridgett-Yeah?

Zaki-Isn't there a world you need to be saving?

Bridgett-Oh. Of course.

(They leave the lobby. Cut to the Guniyan. SAZUKU is on the phone. FRYE sneaks in wearing a green hoodie and sunglasses. She's holding a handheld device that makes a beeping sound every few seconds.)

Sazuku-I told you to stop telling people that!

(FRYE shuffles into the store. SAZUKU doesn't seem to notice.)

Sazuku-I didn't adopt you for street cred. I adopted you because it's the right thing to do! You should know how hard it is to have this much money while there are so many people suffering on the street.

(FRYE continues sneaking along the side of the store, staying out of SAZUKU's sight.)

Sazuku-I just wanted to do my part, even if it makes one kid's life better.

(FRYE reaches the back wall and pretends to peruse the weapons on display.)

Sazuku-What, do you expect me to adopt all those kids?

(FRYE looks down, a frown on her face.)

Sazuku-Donate my money? Why didn't I think of that? Hiro, I'm so glad I adopted you!

(FRYE moves to the right. The beeping sound gets faster. SAZUKU turns towards her.)

Sazuku-And could you please quit with that beeping sound? I'm trying to have a conversation!

Frye-(in a deep voice) Sorry. I've got what I want anyway.

(She scurries out of the store. Commercial break. Cut to the Crater. SHUMI throws YANGHAI at another Fuzzball. He eats the ooze, unearthing a plushy zapfish. SPIDER, INKURA, and BRIDGETT stand behind them.)

Shumi-What's this doing here?

(She picks up the plushie.)

Keiso-Hey, looks like you found some loot hiding beneath all that ooze.

(YANGHAI puts his mouth on the plushie.)

Shumi-Yon, Yanghai. Song tang fan. [No, Yanghai. That's not for eating.]

(They turn right and find another Fuzzball.)

Shumi-Fei mo. Fan tan. [But that is. Eat up.]

(She throws YANGHAI at the Fuzzball. He eats it up, revealing a ramp on the other side. They begin walking down.)

Keiso-Careful here! It's a long way down, and one false step could send you over the edge!

Bridgett-No need to remind me, Keiso. I know what heights are!

(The ramp stops abruptly, leading to a landing below mostly covered in fuzzy ooze.)

Keiso-You gonna jump down there? Make sure you have a safe place to land!

Inkura-Yeah, we do. I mean, one-third of that landing is safe.

Shumi-Hold on. I'll clear it up.

(She throws YANGHAI at the fuzzball, clearing up the ooze.)

Inkura-I can't believe throwing the fish is our solution to everything.

(They jump down.)

Bridgett-Wait a minute. Hold the phone. Look what's right there!

(She points at the kettle at the end of the ledge.)

Keiso-I told you there was some interesting stuff beneath that ooze.

(BRIDGETT opens the kettle. She jumps in first, followed by SPIDER, INKURA, and finally SHUMI. They come up on a rectangular platform covered in boxes.)

Bridgett-Leave it to me!

(She blows the first two boxes out of the way. There's a vault behind them.)

Keiso-You wanna get to what's inside that vault? You gotta find the key.

Bridgett-Like I said. Leave it to me.

(She breaks a couple more boxes. She jumps down onto a plank at the end of the platform and breaks one more, revealing a key.)

Keiso-There it is! Grab that key and unlock the vault!

(BRIDGETT swims back up the wall to the vault and unlocks it. There's an Inkrail inside.)

Keiso-Aha! You found an Inkrail! Hop on it and ride!

Spider-I know what Inkrails are, Keiso.

(They get on and start riding.)

Keiso-I know you do. It's just that Bridgett and Shumi might not. Now, don't panic, but if you let go, you'll fall to your doom, so hold on tight.

(They get off on another square platform. There's a block with a splat switch in front of them. INKURA shoots the switch. The front slides away, revealing a vault inside.)

Keiso-Well, well, well. Another vault. Find the key!

(Meanwhile, BRIDGETT's shooting the boxes surrounding it. Her special finishes charging.)

Keiso-Thar she glows! I can see the zapfish from here!

Others-You can?

(BRIDGETT looks ahead and sees a zapfish on a faraway platform.)

Bridgett-Oh, now I see it.

(Meanwhile, SPIDER is trying to reach an Inkrail on another platform.)

Inkura-Why don't you just shoot the one right here?

Keiso-You know, if your ink won't reach, it's Yanghai's time to shine!

(SHUMI runs in.)

Shumi-Say less!

(She throws YANGHAI at the Inkrail terminal, activating it.)

Keiso-Did I pronounce that right?

Shumi-Eh, you're getting there.

(She hops on the Inkrail.)

Inkura-It amazes me what that fish can do.

(SHUMI gets off on the platform. There's a second Inkrail on it. It winds around to another platform above it. There's a box on it. She shoots it open, revealing a key. She grabs it. She finds an Inkrail terminal on top of a pole. She activates it.)

Shumi-Now, how am I supposed to get up there?

(She shrugs and jumps down.)

Shumi-Yanghai, manha. Disui! [Yanghai, that's enough. Come back!]

(YANGHAI jumps into her backpack. She swims across the Inkrail to the center platform. Meanwhile, SPIDER activates an Inkrail to the left, and he and INKURA swim across. There's an Octocopter on the other side.)

Spider-SURPRISE!

(He tries to fire at the Copter but misses.)

Spider-Darn.

(BRIDGETT rides on the same Inkrail.)

Bridgett-Surprise!

(She uses a Splashdown, defeating the Copter and breaking a box with a key in it. She immediately uses that key to open the vault below.)

Keiso-Octocopter spotted! Ink it up!

Inkura-Keiso, that was five seconds ago.

Keiso-It was? Things are going too fast for me.

(BRIDGETT starts shooting boxes on the corner. Meanwhile, SPIDER and INKURA are looking down at the Inkrail terminal that was inside the vault.)

Spider-Should we just leave her?

(BRIDGETT opens a box containing a key.)

Bridgett-Hold on!

(She activates the Inkrail. It takes them back to the central platform. They jump to one directly above them. They land on top the vault in the middle. SHUMI is watching them.)

Shumi-How did you...

(She follows the top Inkrail with her eyes to the pole that she had found earlier.)

Shumi-Oh...clever!

(BRIDGETT breaks a stack of boxes on the top, revealing a key. She jumps down and opens the vault. Inside is a smaller vault.)

Bridgett-You gotta be squiddin' me.

Shumi-Don't worry. I got one.

(She takes out her key and opens it. Inside is an Inkrail terminal.)

Bridgett-That's more like it!

(She activates the Inkrail. She and SHUMI swim straight down to the platform with the zapfish. BRIDGETT prepares to break the force field.)

Shumi-Hold on! Aren't there some people you should be waiting for?

(She points at SPIDER and INKURA swimming down the Inkrail after them.)

Spider-Yeah! Why did you just leave us behind like that?

Bridgett-Sorry.

(She breaks the force field and grabs the zapfish.)

Bridgett-Yeah! We got a zapfish!

(Cut to KEISO's tent. KEISO and the AGENTS are standing together.)

Keiso-Keep it up, agents! You're making me proud. Now, I don't want to ruffle your tentacles more than they've already been aruffled, but those fuzzy Octarians are freakin' me out.

Bridgett-Really! Ya don't say...

Keiso-I think we oughta consider calling some backup. Lemme just fire up the ol' communicator.

(He takes out his phone.)

Shumi-Isn't that just your phone?

Keiso-(into his phone) Check check! This is Agent 4, over. Do you copy?

Marie-(through the phone) Agent 2 here. Over.

Bridgett/Inkura-Marie?!

Marie-Wait. Bridgett? Inkura? Is that you? Where are you?

Keiso-Still in the Crater. Agents 1, 7, and 8 just picked up and moved to Splatsville.

Marie-Special Agent Mikado, this is Agent 2. You'll never guess who just showed up in Splatsville. Over.

Mikado-(also through the phone) Well, what are we waiting for? Let's meet up with them!

Marie-Roger that. Stay fresh!

Keiso-Mikado's basically an honorary member of the Splatoon now with how much she and Zaki are together.

(Click.)

Keiso-Did they just hang up on me?

Spider-Dude, I'm telling you, Bluegill Wireless, dropping calls left and right.

Keiso-Agents these days, am I right? So impatient.

(All of a sudden, static comes through the phone.)

Octavio-(distorted) GYA...A HA...Agen...I foun...you!

Keiso-Dangnabit! This old thing is busted!

(He throws the phone.)

Keiso-Oh, well.

Spider-Dude, they're reaching out for your extended warranty. Do NOT answer it.

Shumi-Well, I better get going. Yanghai's getting sleepy.

(BRIDGETT yawns.)

Bridgett-Come to think of it, so am I.

Shumi-You're not four.

Bridgett-Correct. I'm six!

(She dives in the grate, followed by SPIDER and INKURA.)

Keiso-So your little brother or whatever he is, he's four?

Shumi-Yeah. One more month, and he'll finally join the company!

Keiso-The thing is my son is four, too. Maybe we could set up a playdate or something.

Shumi-Maybe. He's kind of a lot to handle. Unless your son is also a Salmonid.

(KEISO chuckles.)

Keiso-So your name is Inkish, and his is Salmonid. Is Shumi the name your birth parents gave you?

Shumi-Birth parents? Pshh! My birth parents ditched me as soon as I was born. I was named by my clan. The problem is most Inklings can't pronounce Zhuhai.

Keiso-Zzzzzzzz......jjjjjjjj...sh-zuuu....sh-juuuu--

Shumi-My point exactly. Hiro helped me come up with an Inkish name when I came to Splatsville. The only reason Yanghai doesn't have one is he can hardly speak Salmonid.

Keiso-Ah, I see. I guess I gotta practice my "ng"s.

Shumi-The thing about Salmonids is we don't really care who our birth parents are. The whole clan is a family! It takes a village, you know?

Keiso-I wish Inklings worked like that. I could use a village right now.

(They both laugh. YANGHAI grunts and wiggles a little in her backpack.)

Shumi-Okay, I really gotta go. If little Yang-ani doesn't get his nap-nap, like, right now, he's gonna get real cranky.

Keiso-Now that you mention it, Megui's probably getting the same way right about now. Nice talking to you, Shumi.

Shumi-Bye, Keiso!

(They both walk towards the grate.)

Shumi/Keiso-This is awkward.

(Cut to BIAN's house. SPIDER, INKURA, BRIDGETT, and BIAN are sitting at the table. ETSU is pouring them each cups of seltzer.)

Etsu-You asked for something carbonated, and I delivered: seltzer water!

Bian-We also asked for something with a little more flavor.

Etsu-I'm not putting sugars in my kids, no sirree!

Spider-Soda and I don't mix, anyway.

(He lifts his mask and takes a sip of his seltzer. He spits it out.)

Spider-Are you trying to kill us?!

Inkura-Spider, it's just carbonation.

(She takes a sip of her seltzer. She smacks her lips a couple times.)

Inkura-Nah, you're right. Carbonation does taste better with sugar.

(ETSU sneers and takes the bottle of seltzer away.)

Etsu-Alright, fine, spit all over my gesture of good will. See if I care!

Bian-No, Father. It's not like that. We're glad that you at least tried to serve us something we liked.

Etsu-You didn't even like the seaweed juice. You know who it is? (pointing at SPIDER) It's that kid.

Spider-Me?

Etsu-If you really trusted me, you would take off your mask whenever you drank something I served you.

Spider-If you must know, I don't wear this mask because of you. If I don't have mouth protection, I'm gonna hit my face with something, and all my teeth are gonna start falling out.

Etsu-Hit your face? This is my house, and childproofing is my lifestyle, baby!

Bian-Father, I'm 21.

Spider-It can happen anywhere.

Inkura-Spider, please. Don't you think you're being unreasonable?

Spider-No.

Inkura-(whispering) Well, at the very least, if you don't like this place, don't let him know it's him.

Spider-Don't worry. It's not him.

(Cut to SPIDER and INKURA's room. SPIDER is pacing around by the windows while INKURA watches.)

Spider-It's him. Something about him just seems off. Maybe it's that huge bubble on his head. It looks like a Salmonid's about to pop out of it at any second.

Inkura-What's wrong with Salmonids? Do you know how much Shumi's little buddy has helped us out?

Spider-Don't change the subject. He just seemed...unstable.

Inkura-Like you're not unstable?

Spider-No. I'm perfectly stable.

Inkura-That sounds like something an unstable person would say. Look, it's only been three days, and you heard Bian's whole "Teruo's dead" speech. He's just broken, you know? We gotta give him a chance.

(SPIDER sighs.)

Spider-Fine, I'll give him a chance, but if I'm right, and I've been right before, we're leaving.

Inkura-Sure, you were right once. What are you even sure that you're right about?

Spider-I don't know. I just know that there's something wrong with him.

(He lifts the covers on the bed.)

Spider-And I'm right.

Inkura-What are you even doing?

Spider-Making like Bridgett and getting some shuteye.

Inkura-Well, I'm at least going to get my pajamas on first.

(She goes into the bathroom as the screen fades to black. Then we hear SHIVER and FRYE's voices from the darkness.)

Shiver-(voice-only) This is just great. Now all three zapfish are gone.
