The Owl House 2:00 PM

Y/n had been sailing on the sea for hours, as the sun rose further and further, the hue of the water turned from blue to a far more familiar shade, at least to the residents of the Boiling Isles, of pink. He had returned to the Titan's corpse and found his way back onto dry land. He grabbed a bag from Striker and hiked his way from the beach to the front of the Owl House. 

As he approached the front door, he was greeted by a familiar, annoying voice. The voice came from the door to the house, or was it the house itself, himself? Y/n could never really tell where the house ended and Hooty began.

Hooty: "Oh? You are approaching me?"

Y/n let out a growl at the antics of the birdworm. 

Y/n: "I can't talk to Eda without getting closer." 

Hooty: "Oh. Well, why didn't you say so, come on in!"

The front door swung open and Y/n heard an unbearable crying causing him to flinch. Suddenly the crying stopped, and Y/n peaked inside and saw quite an adorable scene. 

Y/n stepped inside as the door closed behind him.

Eda: "Oh Luz you're finally. Oh, it's you."

Eda was surprised to see the boy, even more so inside her home. 

Eda: "Hey kid what brings you here? And, why do you look so, exhausted?" 

Y/n: "Long story."

Eda: "Well summarize it."

As Y/n was about to speak he was knocked over by the door opening behind him and slamming the handle into his back. Luz entered not noticing Y/n on the floor.

Luz: "I just had the best day. More cool teens like me."

She closes her eyes and raises her fists into the air. She quickly brings them down and points her thumb at her chest.

Luz: "Call me a library book, 'cause they were checking me out. Woah!"

She stepped forward kicking Y/n in the ribs and tripping over him.

Y/n: "Ow."

Luz springs up to her feet and rapidly apologizes.

Luz: "Oh no. I'm so sorry Y/n, I didn't see you there."

Y/n: "I didn't expect you to, especially after you hit me with the door."

Luz scratched the back of her neck in embarrassment before helping Y/n off the floor.

As Y/n stood up his stomach growled loud enough for Eda to hear it. 

Eda: "Woah, you okay kiddo? You sound."

Y/n cut her off by putting his hand up.

Y/n: "I'm fine."

Eda looked on skeptically before Luz noticed how she was holding the baby bat.

Luz: "Aw, Eda, you look so motherly."

Eda: "Say that again and I steal your tongue."

Y/n: "Yeah Luz, besides she looks for like a great-grandma then a mom."

Eda threw a flipflop at the boy hitting him square in the face.

Y/n: "It's a miracle she can still hear!"

Eda: "Quiet brat."

Luz ignored the situation and walked up to the baby.

Luz: "Aw, how can you guys say that around this cute w-ittle baby?"

Luz gently poked the sleeping creature, causing it to open its eyes. The bat then throws up two other bat babies frightening Luz. The creatures flew up and began to cause havoc with their magic Y/n and Luz bolted toward the door. Luz grabs her bag before waving goodbye. 

Luz: "Parenting sure looks rewarding. Enjoy your life lessons. Bye."

Luz closes the door behind her and runs off.

Y/n: "Later gators, actually Eda you were probably around before them?"

Y/n jumps out an open window as a bottle is thrown at him. He lands and instantly begins to follow Luz. 

Y/n: "Luz! Wait up!"

Y/n and Luz spent most of the day asking about each other's lives in their separate realms. Y/n asked how Luz had gotten to the demon realm but she didn't want to answer, but when Luz asked more about his life in the Emporer's Coven he refused to tell. Y/n gave general tips on fighting witches in case Luz ever needed them and because Luz offered to get him food if he did. He ended up getting a bag of ghost papers which came in a medal box, which intrigued Luz.

Luz: "Ha, that's funny."

Y/n was in the middle of chewing when he responded.

Y/n: "WHa?"

Luz: "Someone with fire powers eating spicy food."

She reached for the bag before Y/n smacked her hand. She recoiled and yelped.

Luz: "Ow! What was that for?!" 

Y/n: "To keep you from burning your hand. Dumby."

Y/n lifted one of the peppers and placed it on the counter next to him. The fruit began to melt into the table, soon it plopped onto the floor. Y/n picked it up and ate it in one bite. Luz was horrified.

Luz: "What are you?"

Y/n: "Immune to fire, actually heat in general."

The two sat in silence until Luz got another question.

Luz: "So can you manipulate your body temperature?"

She pointed toward Y/n an inquisitive tone and low volume in her voice.

Y/n: "Yeah."

At that moment Y/n sensed Lilith and a handful of guards approaching. He slithered under the table they sat at and pulled Luz under too.

Luz: "Hey! What?"

She goes silent as Lilith and the guards walk past, and soon after Y/n checks to make sure the coast is clear. When he confirms this he and Luz get out from under the table leave the payment and leave themselves. 

Luz: "What was that about?"

Y/n: "I. I don't want to talk about it."

Luz looks on sympathetically before Y/n turns around smiling.

Y/n: "So you wanted to learn more about my Devil Fruit?"

Luz's face and eyes lit up she gasped for what felt like forever before Y/n chuckled and continued.

Y/n: "I'll take that as a yes."

Bonesborough Library 11:00 PM

The sun had completely set, and the human and halfling were outside of the library waiting for someone. Y/n had recently awoken from a nap he had taken, he noticed two familiar witches looking at something, he turned his head and saw Luz pacing back and forth. He decided to watch on as well.

Luz: "Gotta be cool."

She fidgeted with her hair and arms, anxiously leaning her elbow on a pillar.

Luz: "Cool? No. Cool."

She leaned against the pillar with her foot up behind her. She then struck a pose before sighing dejectedly. 

Emira: "Keep going."

The sudden voice startled the girl causing her to fall. Luz looks up and sees the Blight twins.

Emira: "This is fun to watch."

Edric: "You ready to bring this whole whatever it is you're doing inside?"

Y/n: "Well, well."

Y/n suddenly appears behind the twins. 

Y/n: "First day out of the slammer and you already do something like this? Tsk."

Y/n spoke with a mocking tone before he and Edric high-fived. The perfect clap sound echoed around them.

Ed: "Good to see you, buddy."

Y/n: "It's been two days?"

The four of them approach the door. 

Edric: "It says no trespassing but I'm allergic to the rules."

He confidently unfurls a magical poster, which he hands to his sister.

Emira: "And dairy."

Edric: "Wow. Okay. Just expose me."

The writing on the poster glowed, Emira raised it toward the door as it began to break into orange pieces.

Luz: "Wow."

The keyhole grew in size rapidly startling the human girl. The three teens walked in calmly as Luz ran in behind them. The keyhole shrank behind them leaving no evidence of their entry. While they came in Y/n couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong.

Y/n: "Just what are you two planning?"

Luz: "Standing in a dimly lit lobby. You guys sure know how to party."

Edric: "Look! The Wailing Star."

At that moment a green comet passed over loud crying echoed throughout the building. As the star flew over a rainbow light seeped through the window, then suddenly it all vanished. Y/n felt an unfamiliar energy pulse through the room. The twins and Luz didn't seem to notice until the books began to glow neon green. 

Luz: "The books are all 'glowy'." 

Y/n: "Astute observation."

Luz picked up a book about birds and opened it to a random spot. Without warning a torrent of avians poured from the paper. They flew through the library to the amazement of those inside.

Edric: "Wow. The Wailing Star magicked the books to life."

Luz closed the book and the birds disappeared, she then looked at the older teens confused. Ed, Em, and Y/n look at each other and smirk. The four of them went on a tour of the library to see just how much they could get away with.

Edric finds a fashion magazine and opens it giving him and his sister, flamboyant peacock-like clothes.

Luz opens another magazine before transforming into a spiky-haired character with a sword far too big for her body causing her to fall over. 

Y/n finally opened one himself. He closed his eyes as the green flash consumed him. He saw he was in a sailor's uniform and felt his hair was parted down the middle. The white coat hanging from his shoulders did not go unnoticed, Y/n took it off and saw the word 'Justice' written on the back and felt the fake mustache on his lip. 

The four of them spent several hours messing about until Y/n found time to slip away. He removed the bag from his shoulder and retrieved the Journey of Joyboy. He slowly opened the book to Joyboy's description, but before he could finish he felt a wave of power crash into him causing him to slam the book shut.

After taking a moment to compose himself he opened to the Warlord section but every page besides Y/n's gave the same result. Two headstones. Y/n's page only revealed one and it read 'Portgas D. Rouge'.  

Y/n sat in silence for a long time before he felt a hand on his shoulder followed by a teardrop. Y/n felt oddly comforted by the presence.

Rouge: "It's good to see you Y/n."

Y/n: "You too."

Y/n's voice cracked as he looked up at the face of his long-dead parent. He tried to stand but Rouge pushed him back down.

Rouge: "It seems I made a good choice entrusting you to Lilith, wouldn't you say?"

Y/n: "Yeah."

Rouge: "You have done a great job, my son."

These words nearly broke him, tears began to stream down his face. He spun around and hugged her and she hugged him back.

Y/n: "I'm sorry."

Rouge: "Sh sh. You didn't do anything wrong, it's not your fault about your father."

Rouge looked into Y/n's eyes and could tell that her words brought immense comfort to the boy. But she also could tell that he was holding something else in. She smiled when the pieces fell together in her mind.

Rouge: "I never have been your mother have I?"

Y/n only looked away in shame, even though he never knew anything about her he felt like he was betraying her. Rouge gently whipped away his tears and hugged the boy tighter.

Rouge: "Please don't cry, even if you didn't see me as your mother, I will always be proud to call you my son."

The two held each other for a few moments before they heard screams in the distance. Y/n looked at Rouge who nodded. The two separate and Y/n goes to close the book but he stops. 

Y/n: "Goodbye."

Rouge: "Bye son."

With a heartfelt smile, Y/n closed the book causing Rouge to disappear. Y/n put the book back in his bag and activated his Observation Haki and saw Amity and Luz running from something through several walls.

Y/n finally found the two in time to see Luz holding a giant eraser. He watched as Luz erased the scribbles from the book returning Otabin to revert to normal. Knowing that the two were safe Y/n set out to fix the part of the mess he made. On his way out he saw the twins who nervously approached him. 

Edric: "Hey. Man."

Y/n looks at the two before he continues to walk off.

Emira: "Wait, Y/n!"

Y/n: "Two minutes."

Ed: "What?"

Y/n: "I'll give you two minutes to explain yourselves."

Edric: "Well you see we just wanted to teach Amity a lesson."

Y/n: "So you thought using someone who wants to befriend her to humiliate her was the best idea."

Emira: "Look we're sorry about it."

Y/n scoffed and facepalmed.

Y/n: "Don't apologize to me. You two are her older siblings. And with how the rest of your family act it would be an excellent idea to keep each other close."

Edric: "Since when did you get so good at family therapy?"

Y/n: "Recently. Oh, would you look at that, times up."

Y/n walked off leaving the twins to contemplate the meaning of his words. 

Bonesborow 6:00 AM

After several hours the library was cleaned. Y/n watched as Luz and Amity bonded over the events of the night and the book Luz had let Amity borrow. They say their goodbyes and leave, Y/n and Luz walk in silence for a few moments. 

Luz: "So what did you do when you slipped away last night?"

Y/n: "I had a reunion with someone important to me."

Luz: "Who?"

Y/n: "I don't want to talk about it."

The two of them continue for a few moments. 

Y/n: "So. Do you think Eda will let me stay over for a few days?"

Luz was surprised by the question but she knew the answer. 

Luz: "I don't know I guess you'll just have to ask."

The mischievous tone of voice and smile on her face got a chuckle out of Y/n.

The Owl House 7:00 AM

The two of them made it to the house and walked inside. They saw Eda, King, and the bat babies sleeping cuddled up on the couch. 

Luz: "Hey guys!" 

Luz notices the scene in front of her and whispers.

Luz: "I'm home."

Y/n: "Aw. That's adorable."

Hooty: "Ding Dong!"

The door slams open statrling Luz and Y/n.

Luz: "Hooty."

Before Y/n could say anything a massive figure began to crawl through the door. When the figure finally stood Y/n recognized her, the Bat Queen. 

Luz: "Woah. You must be mama."

BQ: "Yeah. Yeah. Mama is I. And I is the Bat Queen."

BQ whistles waking up the babies who all fly into their mama's hair.

BQ: "Ah, snuggle dumplings."

The Bat Queen throws up a chest full of money and then leaves. Eda shortly wakes up and realizes the babies are gone. King and her try to play off their sadness but fail, miserably. Luz consoles the two and gives them a book to help them cope. This is when Eda finally notices Y/n.

Eda: "So what do you want? Here to call me old again?"

Y/n: "No. I."

Eda could tell what he was about to ask was gonna be serious, in all her time knowing the kid she had never seen him like this before. When Y/n finally asked his question it surprised her.

Y/n: "Can I stay here for a few days? If it's not too much trouble."

Eda: "Ha!"

Eda's laugh was a shock to everyone.

Eda: "Of course you can. What kind of aunt would I be if I didn't let my nephew stay over when he needed to?"

Luz looked puzzled she rapidly glanced at the two before remembering the Covention. Eda asking "What about your son?" played on repeat in her mind along with Y/n explaining how his father was human. She took a moment to collect her thoughts before the most obvious answer in her life hit her.

Luz: "Lilith is your MOTHER!?"

Y/n: "Adopted and mom is more appropriate but yeah."

Luz gasped and held her hands out in confusion she was trying to process what just happened as Y/n, Eda, and King laughed at the poor girl.

Eda: "It's good to see you finally admit that to yourself."

Luz: "I have so many questions!"

Y/n: "It feels even better to say that."

Y/n: "Thank you, Eda."

Eda stands up and puts a hand on his shoulder before quickly recoiling and grabbing her nose. Y/n looks at her confused before he smells himself and remembers he hasn't showered since before the Covention. 

Eda: "Holy! Kid if you want to stay we need to deal with that."

Eda motioned her hand at Y/n.

Y/n: "You just gestured to all of me."

Eda drew a spell circle in the air and Y/n was hit in the head by a towel. He went and took a shower before he was shown the room he would be staying in. He laid down on the sleeping bag he had retrieved from Striker and closed his eyes. Until his scroll buzzed, he quickly picked it up and saw the message was from Mama Raven. 

Mama Raven: Hello Y/n, I just wanted to check in and see how you were doing. 

Y/n smiled at the scroll before typing something in changing Lilith's contact name and then he responded.

Y/n: Hi, I'm doing just fine. I plan on staying at a friend's house for a few days. 

Mom: Okay. Just let me know when you plan on coming back. I believe I have realized what I did to make you so upset. 

Y/n:  And that is? 

Mom: "The fact that I disrespected the human girl Eda is training for being human and disrespected you by not acknowledging you as my student. 

Y/n: Yea

Y/n didn't know why but he could feel that she was holding something in that she desperately needed out.

Mom: When you decide to come back I need to talk to you about something.

Y/n: "Is it a mission?"

Mom: No, it's a more personal topic.

Y/n: Okay, I have to go.

Y/n caught himself typing out 'I love you' but he didn't know if that was okay to say.

Y/n: Okay I have to go, talk soon?

Mom: Yes that is fine. Talk soon.

Y/n put his scroll down before he fell into a nap.
