Chapter One: Slytherin

Elise's POV:

Silence. I enjoyed the silence of my own area. No one had bother to come talk to the new transfer.

I was startled for a brief moment that no one had noticed me, yet again no one exactly spoke to me. Still, I had received a few wolf whistles and jealous tuts from girls.

You could say I was beautiful. I was always complimented, my long wavy brown hair, my hazel eyes and my slightly pale skin. Apparently I was known as human perfection. The train ride to Hogwarts was long and rather boring.

The train comes to a halt at Hogsmeade
Station. A small village that supplies things for students, like sweets or other ridiculous things. Rather quickly, I grab my trunk and head for the carriages.

Luckily, I had awaited for a while before finding a carriage on my own. I really didn't like the thought of other people, they all seemed....time consuming.

My glimpse caught a horse pulling the carriage. It was black and winged. I dump my stuff in the carriage before walking to the animal.

"Hello..aren't you beautiful" my hand glides across the horselike back. This was called a Thestral, the creatures were only seen by those who have seen death. Sadly, I have seen too many.

"Take me to Hogwarts. Take me to my future" I whisper to the Thestral who seemed to nod as I jumped into the carriage.

It started slowly moving and I took this time to remember the last two weeks.

*flash Back*

Tears start to stream down my face. "PAPA! Please don't leave me. Papa you can't please" I scream trying to cling onto the lifeless body. "PAPA IM SORRY. I-I didn't mean to Papa" I hiccup. "Elise, sweet heart why are you-" Auntie Agatha was back. She just stood there. Emotionless.

"Elise.....Get up" Her beautiful face, now a disgusted ghost. "Papa..NO" I cry harder into his shoulder. "GET UP YOU FILTHY EXCUSE FOR MAGIC" Auntie Agatha grabs me by my arm, yanking me away from my Father. I was almost 16. I had done this more than once.

"You can't control your magic. Everyday you grow stronger you end up hurting someone." She snarls in my ear. "NO AUNTIE NO" I scream against her grip, I just want my father.

"NO YOU STUPID GIRL. I'm sending you away. Away to Hogwarts"

*flash back ends*

Tears build up in my closed eyes. The carriage stopped and I finally noticed, I was here.

Jumping out of the carriage with my stuff, I begin to walk through the entrance. A few students stood there chatting.

I clear my throat, gaining their rather annoyed attention. "Hello, I'm wondering where the Head Master is? I'm a transfer" Squaring my shoulders, they pointed in some sort of direction, nodding a thanks I begin walking down the direction they told me to go.

The paintings on the wall begin to whisper. "I-I'm sorry but do you know where I can find Head Master Dippet?" I ask one of the men. "Yes my dear. Down the hall to the left. The password is Sparrow" I nod and carrying on walking.

Finally, I reach the stairs with some sort of crow spreading its wings. "Password" it speaks.

"Sparrow" I answer quickly. The crow nods, the stairs just spiralling and I hop on with my luggage.

A giant door awaits me next, I gently knock. "Come in" a voice speaks. I soundly walk in.

"Uh you must be Elise" a man sitting in a chair asks. "Yes Sir" I answer. "Come, come, come in my sweet child" slowly, I walk to in front of his desk. "You may sit" nodding, I sit down.

"My name is HeadMaster Dippet. Welcome to Hogwarts, we teach the young how to control their magic" as Dippet spoke I couldn't help but replay what happened 2 weeks earlier.

"Miss Hawthorn, I understand your...situation" he pauses for a split second before continuing. "The passing of your parents was seen as...an accident"

"I didn't mean to" I quickly defended. "I never accused you of such things. And I understand that your elder brother Daniel attends Durmstrang"

"Indeed he does Sir"

"Does he know of the situation?" I shook my head. He had not been home enough. He left two weeks before school and arrived 2 weeks after it had finished.

Daniel hated Auntie Agatha, we would always write. But after Mothers death...we didn't exactly speak. Now father died I highly doubt he would want anything to do with me. Father wasn't always a nice person, but he was still our Father.

"I am well assured one of your family members will notify him. The sorting ceremony will begin in 20 minutes. To save you from embarrassment we shall do it in five." Dippet stands up and beckons me to follow. I awkwardly leave my stuff here and follow Dippet.

The Great Hall was oddly quiet. Until I walked through the door. I felt thousands of eyes stare into me, burning millions of holes in me.

I quickly follow Dippet, avoiding all eye contact. "welcome students. Today, we will be welcoming a new transfer student who will be joining the 6th year. Please welcome Elise Hawthorn" some people clapped, others did not.

"We shall sort you into one of the four houses. Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, Gryffindor and Slytherin" he pauses between Slytherin.

I sit down in the wooden chair. I had read all about this school so nothing surprised me. The sorting hat was gently placed on my head.

"UUHH. Heir...heir of TWO houses. Gifts...so many gifts. Very very powerful, so sorry about your parents. But is Daniel so forgiving." The hat was alive and talking. "Secrets...DARK secrets. You are intelligent, loyal, brave but sneaky. Your family carry so many curses. Yet you are the most damaged. You will do well in all the houses. But....if anything you shall shine brightest for........SLYTHERIN" The hat cries. I quickly bolt from the chair to the green table.

As soon as I sit down a girl with bright ginger hair smiles at me. "Hi I'm Cassy" she holds out her hand which I gladly take "Hi I'm Elise"

"You are beautiful" she compliments. "Thanks?"

"I would do her" a boy from the other end of the table shouts down to us. Causing me and Cassy to giggle.

"You are all right....I think we will be best friends" Cassy shares a beautiful smile.
