Chapter 25

"Where do you wanna go now?" Taehyung asked as we exited the restaurant.

"I don't know, I have nothing planned in mind today. You were the one who asked me to skip school, don't you have anything in mind?" I scoffed and pointed to him.

"You're right," He said slowly and scratched the back of his head.

"Anyway, where do you wanna go? You keep on asking me and follow me everywhere but we've never been to places you wanna go." The street was kind of deserted because most of the people who walk it are students, and well, they're in school. Unlike me.

"I don't know, like you said. I just follow you where you wanna go."

I paused in my steps and sighed as I looked at him and finished the last bit of my chocolate bar I got from the restaurant. "Where do you have in mind?"

He shrugged his shoulders.

"Come on, there must be a place you'd like to go to or something you want to do," I stared at him in disbelief.

He thought for a while before his face lit up. "Let's go to the park."

"The park?" I let out a chuckle.

"Yeah, the park. Not many are here at this time of the day. It'll be peaceful," He nodded.

"Okay, then. Let's go," I walked with him side by side to the park.

When we reached it, he was right. There wasn't a lot of people, probably because they're working. The park wasn't really that green though because it's winter now and the trees are either bald or their leaves have turned yellow.

"You like to come here?" I questioned him as we randomly walked wherever our legs brought us.

"Yeah, because people always bring their puppies here. I like to play with them," He shoved his hands into his pockets.

"What a child," I laughed at him.

"Hey, it's not childish at all, okay?" He frowned, defending himself.

"Okay, okay. Whatever floats your boat," I teased him and sheepishly smiled.

Just then, a tiny corgi puppy came running to us. Honestly, I'm not scared of dogs at all. I just had a bad memory of it when I was young, it just affected how I see them. But I swear to god I'm not scared to them. Well, that's what I tell myself everyday to try convince myself.

The puppy came running to Taehyung and instead of the puppy being a puppy, Taehyung was the one who looked like the puppy. He looked like a puppy which saw a ball to play with. As Taehyung stroked the puppy's head, I slowly take a few steps backwards, distancing myself from that cute but horrendous little creature.

"Hello, little guy. You are a cutie, who's that cutie little boy?" Taehyung mimicked the sound of I honestly don't know what. He looked kinda cute. I didn't realise I was smiling all by myself when he looked up at me.

"Is this something good for you to see?" He had a smirk as he grabbed hold of the puppy and played with it.

"A-Ani, what are you crapping about..." I embarassedly looked away after being caught staring at him.

"Why are you so far away from me?" He asked once he noticed our unusual distance from each other.

"Hm? Oh, um. Nothing," I lied and looked elsewhere. I don't wanna tell him I'm scared of puppies.

"Are you scared of dogs?" He suddenly had a teasing smile as if he read my mind.

"No! I'm not, since when am I?" I panicked and stuttered.

"Whoa, chill down missy. I was just asking," He put up a frown and put the puppy back on the ground.

"Alright, let's go," I said and turned around, waiting for him. Oddly, there was no response. And when I turned around, a large pair of black eyes with a furry brown head was staring at me.

I screamed my heart out and instantly jumped to the back, clutching my heart. Taehyung was in fits of laughter as he put the puppy back onto the ground.

"Yeah, yeah. Very funny," I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms across my chest.

"Aww, don't be angry, princess. I was just kidding," He stood up and walked to where I was.

I avoided eye contact with him and ignored whatever he said. I was clearly annoyed and mad that he pranked me like this. Especially when I'm scared of dogs.

"Princess? Your highness?" He waved his hands in front of my eyes but of course, no response from me.

"Queen?" I was silent once again.

"Park Jinni?" He said softly this time and it wasn't how he spoke that caught my attention, but it was that he used my full name to call me.

"That should be it," He smirked when he saw my eyes traveled to his. "Come on, let's go." He held out his hand for me to take but before I could do anything, another dog came running to us.

But this time, it was no tiny corgis anymore. It was a freaking rottweiler. Gosh, who even let their rottweiler loose.

"Tae-Taehyung..." I tugged at his sleeve as I took a few steps backwards when the dog approached us closer with angry eyes.

This ain't no good dog, it's a bad dog. And this time, I'm actually scared out of my wits.

"What?" He sensed something wrong and turned to look at the dog. "Oh, it's another puppy!" His eyes lit up.

My head snapped up at his at the mention of puppy. "Puppy my ass! This ain't no puppy, it's a freakin wolf!"

"Don't worry, all dogs are nice," Taehyung brushed me off as he took a step closer to the dog and it did the same, while I just went further and further away.

He clearly haven't touched or came across a rottweiler because this breed was the one that gave me a bad memory on dogs.

"Taehyung, have you played with a rottweiler before?"

"Oh, so this is a rottweiler?" He pointed to the dog and facepalmed myself.

"You don't know a rottweiler?" I asked in disbelief.

"I haven't seen one before face to face, and I heard they're nice dogs."

"N-Nice dogs?" I scoffed in disbelief. "Aigoo, this kid will have his hand chopped off by the dog," I whispered to myself.

Without warning, Taehyung crouched on the ground and extended his hand out. Boy, oh boy.

"Taehyung, you might now want to do that."

"Why? They're nice."

"You'll regret it. They're vicious."

"It's okay, I'm a dog whisperer. I can tame all dogs, you know," He said proudly.

"Suit yourself then, don't come running to me if you get bitten," I crossed my arms across my chest and turned, walking away from him.

As soon as I did that, I heard a scream and quickly spun around to witness the horror scene unfolding before me: The dog biting Taehyung's hand.

"Omo! Omo," I tried to approach him nearer to chase off the dog but I was scared.

Luckily, Taehyung had his legs to kick the dog and it went tumbling away from him. I immediately went to him and observed his hand with bite marks on it. Blood is spurting out off tiny holes the dogs' fangs created.

"Aish, it sure seems painful," I said, holding his hand.

"It is," He cried out, just like a man.

I looked up at him and rolled my eyes. "What did I tell you? So stubborn."

"Get up, let's go back home. We need to get you treated," I said as I pulled him up from the ground with me.

"Don't we need to go to the hospital for that?" He asked as we walked side by side, exiting the park.

"Nope, you're looking at a doctor right now. Why should you?"

"Doctor? Bullsh—"

"Do you want or do you not want to get treated?" I stopped in my steps and looked at him seriously.

"Mian, I want," He gave me his puppy eyes look.

"Good. Now just shut up and walk back home in peace, shall we?" I said impatiently and he nodded.

As soon as we reached my apartment, I quickly brought him to sit on my bed while I get a towel to cover his blood from dripping on it. "Hold on to that."

He did as I said and I went into the bathroom to get my first aid kit.

"Let's get started, shall we?" I asked and sat beside him but I didn't even wait for his answer to start. I took a damp cloth and slowly brought it to his hand and wiped away the blood.

"Doesn't it hurt?"

"Not really," He shrugged his shoulders.

"Oh. I'm pretty sure it will once I put the antiseptic on," I teased him.

"Are you trying to scare me?"

"Oh, are you scared?" I did my best innocent look to him as he eyed me suspiciously.

"Just keep doing what you're doing," He looked away.

After cleaning the blood away, I took out a bottle of antiseptic and dipped a cotton bud into it. "This will sting a bit." I looked at him cautiously before I dabbed the cotton bud onto the wound. He winced a little as I did the job, but I slowly squeezed his hand a little to ensure it'll be fine.

All this while, I could feel his hot stare on me and I'm trying so hard to ignore it and to not blush. I awkwardly cleared my throat because it was really quiet, and it invited an awkward silence between the two of us.

"There, almost done." After I finished dabbing the wound that is now clean, I took a bandage and wrapped it around his wound, securing his bite marks. "Done," I said proudly after I finished cleaning his wound and clapped my hands.

"Omo, this looks like a nurse did it. Do you think I qualify to be a nurse?" I laughed and threw my head back. I turned to look at his face when I realised that there was no response only to find him staring at me.

"Florence Nightingale," He suddenly said.

"What?" I raised my eyebrow when he mentioned the name of the famous nurse.

Without saying anything, he quickly leaned in and pressed his lips against mine. Once again, I feel alive. This kiss may be just a kiss where he did out of lust, but it's different to me. And I don't mind it now.

He had a lovey dovey kind of stare on me when he pulled away, which was not helping me to hide my obvious blush, by the way.

"Yes, you do qualify to be a nurse. My nurse. My Florence Nightingale," He said once again before he leaned in and reconnected our lips, awakening the emotions inside me.
