Dreams

Tords POV

I wiped a few tears away from my face, a feeling of emptiness overtaking me. I walked over the wreckage, barely glancing over the landscape when a flash of a familiar dark blue caught my eye. I felt my heart leap at this, was it possible? I ran over to the blue fabric in the rocks, even though my body screamed in pain at me. Once I reached the spot I started quickly pushing the rubble aside as best as I could. Some other soldiers took notice to my actions and had rushed over to see what I had been running to. Jay was among these people, and soon noticed what I was doing and what I had found. They all helped me move large chunks of concrete until Tom's small fragile body was uncovered. I quickly scooped him up into my arms, being careful to not accidentally hurt him worse. I held him close to my chest as tears streamed down my face once again.

I checked his wrist for a pulse, and found one that was very weak, and slowly dying. His VR set seemed to have been blown off his blood covered face, and I could see blood seeping through his clothes.

"GET THE MEDICS!!! HURRY!!" I shouted with a demanding tone. Instantly a group of soldiers scrambled off to get some medics and I stroked Toms hair.

"Stay with me Tom. You can't leave m-me yet!" I said through sobs, tears falling from my face onto both of our blood stained clothes. I traced his cold face gently, hoping that he would be ok. Soon medics arrived, and took Tom from my arms, carefully placing him onto a stretcher and loading him into one of the vehicles with me staying by his side. I made sure to stay out of the way as the did some basic first aid, but it didn't seem to help much. His life appeared to be fading fast, and his skin was paler than a ghost. We drove to one of the planes and loaded Tom onto it. I stared at his lifeless face wishing I could see a smile on it again, or even anger directed towards me would be better than this. Once at the base the medics rushed Tom away from me and into a room in the infirmary.

While they performed a emergency operation I walked back to my room and collapsed onto my bed. I should have made sure that he was with me the whole time, I shouldn't have let him out of my sight, but I did, and now he could be dead. I eventually fell asleep, thoughts of how everything was my fault coursing through my head. My dreams weren't any better than real life.

I was sitting in a small room on a soft red couch. Tom was sitting besides me, but he looked lost in thought. A smile took over my face once I saw him, I reached out to pull him towards me, but he moved away, shooting me a glare. I tried again to reach him, but he hit my hand away. I gave him a inquisitive look, but he simply brush me off and stared off into space again.

"What's wrong Tom?" I asked him, only to get no reply. I tried once again to grab him and this time he didn't move away. I pulled him closer to me till he was up against my chest. He shot me another glare but then just sighed. I stroked his hair, enjoying the moment with him until he spoke up.

"Haven't you hurt me enough?" He spat at me, venom dripping from his words.

"What do you mean?" I was confused by his sudden outburst.

"Haven't you realized? If not for you I would be safe at home, living a nice life! But of course you came along and ruined all that!!" My eyes went wide from what he said. I secretly knew it was true, but I thought he would have forgiven me. He stood up and started walking away.

"TOM!" I yelled at him, trying to get him to come back. He stopped but before he could say anything a black arm shot out and grabbed him, pulling him away into a black void. I was quick to stand up and tried to grab him, but the second I touched him he yelled out in pain and I could see a huge burn on his skin where my hand has previously been. The shadows continued to yank him away from me, so I tried again to grab him. Once again I drew my hand back as he yelped in pain. I repeated this many times, but every time I would end up hurting him till he was in tears and begging me to stop. I couldn't let him be taken from me though. I mentally apologized to him and grabbed his torso, pulling him away from the shadows. He screamed and cried out in pain, begging me to let go and to stop, but I couldn't let him be taken away! I finally managed to pull him away, the shadows letting go and retreating to their inky black hideout. I set Tom down on the floor as his scream stopped. I noticed large burns on his torso through his clothes. They looked terrible, the skin mutated.

"I'm so sorry Tom. It was the only way to keep you safe." I apologized to him. I got no response, he wasn't even moving. I began to panic, shaking him gently, but every time I touched him he would be burned. He had stopped yelling out in pain long ago, and now he lied still. I checked his pulse only to find none before a large blister appeared on his wrist. I started crying as his eyes barely opened a bit.

"This was your fault, I told you all you ever do is hurt me" He said weakly before he went limp and his eyes started to glaze over. I held his body close to me and continued to sob, but everywhere I touched him I only burned him worse. The brits body started to go stiff as I yelled out for him to stay with me.

I woke up in a cold sweat as I heard a knock on my door.

"Come in!" I shouted, wiping my forehead. Paul and patryk walked in, looking slightly depressed. "What's wrong?" I asked them.

"Well you see it's about Tom" Paul said. I perked up at his name, till I noticed their solemn faces.

"What about him?"

Also,  the male soldier patryk will be spelled patryk (Duh) for the sequel and GP will be spelled Patrik like normal. That way it's not quite as confusing. Anywaays, Thanks for reading!!
