Screw you, Baker!

"School sucked balls today man." Melody told Marcus as she laid back on his messy bed. "For real." Marcus groaned while stroking a pencil across his newest work of art. "I'm literally about to flunk English of all subjects." Melody told him. "How?" He asked her. "Gitten's an ass that's how." She told him while bringing herself to a sitting position. She grabbed her phone and scrolled through Instagram for a while. Marcus finished sketching and pulled out his water color paint. He was making Ginny a portrait for her birthday that was coming up at the end of the week. He was working on the hair when he got a text. "Moms working late tonight and I'm going out with a few friends tonight. You guys will be on your own for dinner tonight so try ordering a pizza or something." The text read. "Ok." He replied. "My parents are going to be out all night so we get to order dinner tonight." Marcus told Melody. "Goodie!" Melody said. Marcus smiled at her and left to tell Max.

"Hey, loser. Dad said Mom's working late,
so we're on our own for dinner." Marcus told Max after barging into her room. He snapped his fingers and observed Ginny. "You ok?" he asked her. "Not really." She told him. "What's up?" Marcus asked her. "None of yo business." Max told him. He snarled at her and she raised her eyebrow at him. "No it's ok he can hear. Georgia has a secret sister that I never knew about, who just showed up. Austin might be the next Ted Bundy, and I thought my mom's parents were dead. But, hey, fun news... they're not." Ginny told him. "Ok I would watch the shit outta that show." Max told her. "That sucks." Marcus told her. "Right? Thank you. And when I ask Georgia about it, she just lies and pretends like
everything is sunshine and butterflies. That's what bothers me most. Obviously, there's a lot she's not telling me. Why all the secrecy? It affects me too." Ginny finished. "So ask you aunt." Marcus told her. Her phone started ringing and she answered. "What do you want, Georgia? I'm at the Bakers'. Where are you? Fine. I'm leaving now." Ginny said before hanging up. "Mother of the Year is getting drunk.
I have to watch Austin and my new cousin." Ginny explained to the twins. "I'll come!" Max told her. "Yeah me too!" Marcus said. Man inhaled, "No you wont." She told him. "What? I'm invested now! Is mystery uncle next? Can't wait." Marcus said while going to get Melody. "Hm, solidarity let's do this!" Max said before following Marcus's lead.

At first, Melody was not down for watching two snotty kids but her mind changed as soon as she realized how precious Austin is. The two quickly became friends and they played games together all night. The game they were playing now was the floor is lava. "Ooh! Don't touch the lava!" Austin said as he hoped from pillow to pillow. "Ok boys you gotta follow me. Jump! Come on! Ok! We gotta get to the sofa to be totally safe, ready?!" Marcus told them. "Don't touch the lava!" Austin said as he jumped to the couch. Once the boys were all on the couch Marcus turned to ask them a question. "Austin? Caleb? Now if you could have a dog or a monkey, which one would you have?". "A monkey." They both responded. "Mhm, but what if it was a girl monkey and a boy dog?" Marcus asked again. "A dog." They both answered. "Right." Marcus said to them. Melody rolled her eyes, he always asked her this in elementary school and she still couldn't understand the logic. "Aw, look! He's found his intellectual equals!" Max told Ginny and Melody. Their fun was interrupted when Georgia, Joe, and Maddie came crashing in, giggling and obviously drunk.

"Hi mom! We were playing lava!" Austin told Georgia. "Oh, how fun! That's great!" She told him. "Ok. Hey, I brought them home because we got a little sauced." Joe told the kids. "Harry Potter!" Maddie said as she saw a Harry Potter book on the ground and dove to grab it. "I remember this one. Voldemort tries to kill him like a bunch of times and then this guy, Cedrick? He gets demolished. Poor Cedric." She said before falling back onto the ground. "What's wrong with aunt Maddie?" Austin asked innocently. "She just needs to go to bed." Caleb told him. "Uh, boys? Who wants ice cream?" Max asked the boys, desperate to get them out of the room. Melody went with her to the kitchen and got out two bowls for the boys while Max got the carton of ice cream from the freezer. They made the boys their ice cream before it was time for them to leave. "Bye guys!" Melody said as they walked through the door.

When they all got back to the house, they ordered Pizza and watched a movie on the downstairs TV. While they were eating, Marcus decided it would be funny to scare the girls while they ate. He hid behind the sofa and popped up while screaming "Boo!". "AHHHH!" The girls screamed. "Screw you Baker! What the fuck!" Melody exclaimed. "Yeah! What the fuck!" Max said. He was laughing hysterically and it annoyed the hell out of the girls.

The next day was Sunday and Melody's mom came to the Bakers house to pick her up and make her go to Sunday mass. "Please hide me!" She told Marcus as she heard her mom and Ellen taking. Marcus laughed at her. "Y'know, I could always go with you." Marcus told her. "You'd sit through an hour and a half of mass with me?" She asked him. "Sure bambam." He told her. She smiled and ran to tell her mom, leaving him to get dressed in a fancier clothes and do his hair.

Mass was boring and long as usual but when it was over, Melody and Marcus got to go skating around town and get iced coffee. They ended the day by watching pointless reality TV at Melody's house and Melody forcing Marcus to make tiktoks with her.
