Chapter 1: Hikari Mizuki

Chapter 1 - Hikari Mizuki

"Ohayo, Oka-san." I greeted my cheerful mother, who was busy preparing breakfast. My father already left for work.

"Ohayo, Mizu." My mother beamed before turning her attention back to the food.

Oh, right I forgot. My name is Hikari Mizuki. I am a transfer Student from Eagle River High School in the US. I have transferred to Seirin High. I am a first-year student. My life is pretty boring, except for my mother who always brightens up the room with her smile. Well, enough with the rambling, today is my first day of school.

I tied up my colourful hair into a ponytail, then looked at the mirror with disgust as the hairstyle did not suit me at all, thus I untied it. I slipped on my black biker glove onto my left hand, then grabbed my butter toast.

"Ah, I'm going to be late, Okasan. I'll be going first." I announced as I wore my shoes and left the house.

'Well, nothing will be different. People will be scared of my presence whenever I appear.' I thought to myself as my heart pounded in my chest and I walked towards the direction of the school, munching on the toast.

-At Seirin High-

'This school is quite an average size... Never mind, I'm lost.' Worriedly, I looked around for a map but bumped into a huge body, and fell.

"Iteeh." I rubbed my bum and I saw a hand reach out towards me. I looked at the owner of the hand and saw a familiar blunette. I held on to his hand and he pulled me up.

"Are you alright?" He asked. I nodded and he looked at the culprit and jabbed the dark red-haired male with split eyebrows at his side.

"Kagami kun, apologise."

"Hah? To who?" the said male looked at the male like he was crazy.

"To her." Kuroko then pointed at me.

"I don't see anyone? Are you alright, Kuroko? You're not having a fever, right? We still have to practice that alley hoop, ya know." Kagami answered with an annoyed look.

On the other hand, I silently walked away and found the board of classes and found my class, 1-A. I felt slightly dejected, as the same scene filled my brain.

"Ah... Why must I be born with a low presence... Wait a minute, that male who helped me before was very familiar... Who is he?" I mumbled out loud as I furrowed my eyebrows.

-In 1-A Class Room-

"Ah, minna! Today we will be having a transfer student! She will be coming any moment, please treat her well!" The homeroom teacher called out to the other students in the class. The students were whispering among themselves, as I entered the room.

A few minutes passed

"Sensei, where is the new student?" the same dark red-haired male shouted.

"She will be"

"Ohayo." I interrupted the teacher as I bowed to the rest of the class.

Everyone shrieked or screamed.

"A-ah! Hikari chan! You're here!" The teacher stammered as she caught her breath.

"I've been here for 5 minutes, Sensei," I informed her.

"Ah! Gomen! Please introduce yourself!"

"Watashi wa Hikari Mizuki. Yoroshiku Onegaishimasu." I bowed and the teacher instructed me to sit at the empty seat beside the same blunette.

Some stared in awe as they saw my rainbow hair, and started whispering about it.

The blunette stared at me with his wide eyes.

"Hikari san?" The male questioned quietly.

'Eh? The only person who calls me that is... KURO KUN?!' I thought to myself as my eye widen and my jaw hung open.

"Kuro kun?" I questioned the opposite party.

"Hai."

With that one-word answer, I smiled widely and hugged him as tight as possible, until he was smiling slightly.

'Okaerinasai, Hikari san.' Kuroko wrote on a small piece of paper as class started.

While reading, a smile crawled onto my face, my lips twitched upwards.
