Finnick was a 17 year old cancer patient at Children's Cancer Center. He had cancer in both of his kidneys. The doctor said that he had a very slim chance of survival because he needed them quick, and his blood type was hard to find.

Sam was a 20 year old studying at med school. He heard about what was happening to the poor kid and decided to help. The doctors were secretly bending truths, they had enough kidneys of his blood type to give him, but his insurance wouldn't pay them a lot of money. So they gave them to other upper class children.

As time got more grim and people were preparing to grieve Sam voulenteered to give both of his kidneys, meaning he would die. The doctor told him it was a stupid thing to do and there was no way to save him, but Sam didn't care.

Sam claimed he had a great life even though he hadn't even had a girlfriend or children yet, and said that Finnick deserves one too. He donated both of his kidneys to Finnick and died.

Finnick and his parents were so happy. Finnick became totally cancer free. They were never told about what happened or that Sam basically killed himself for Finnick. Finnick eventually worked in the medical field as well. Then he discovered his old file. He then learned of what Sam had did that everyone forgot.

He had a son years later. Named Sam.
