Chapter Eighteen - Amelie

Unedited

"Once, there was a girl named Amealea. But we called her Amelie." Serenity begins.

Amelie was young, quite young. She had two sisters, one with the powers of an angel and the other one with the powers of a demon. Her family was quite strange, as her mother was born with a demons abilities and the father born with an angels light. But Amelie. Was human. She never got to carry the special gene the rest of her family has, she didn't have any power. She did however had the same mortality as an angel, she lived a long life. Although she didn't have any sort of special ability, she continued on with life looking on the bright side and devoted her life to protecting the earth dimension with all of her power.

"Ew, earth." Wilford commented.
"Shut up Warfstache and be grateful I am even telling you this story." I snap. I then continue the tale,

Amelie's life was complicated as no one knew what she really was as human has ever had demon and angel parents. She studied every book on demons, angels and humanity hoping to find an answer on her existence. In her family life, her oldest sister was bitter and sofisticated, focusing on her presentation in the public. The oldest sister would push Amelie and her other sister away, to devote her life on learning how to use her power. That was the only thing they had in common, they both loved learning. While the oldest was bitter, the middle sister was sweet and kind. She loved Amelie very much and made up for her older sisters bitterness.

One day, a war near home broke out. Her father went out to fight and the sisters were ordered to never step outside without permission.  Amelie's family lived near a forest which sparked curiosity within Amelie. She asked her mother to venture out into forest, but her mother said no. As that is near the barrier of hell. Amelie's sister started arguing, fighting about what is going on. Amelie then fled her home, hoping to find an answer to anything. The forest was dark and eerie. But Amelie knew something was calling her in there, she then found a beautiful pond which glistened from the little amount of light in the forest.  Amelie heard her sisters call her name, hoping that she is still alive. The sisters found her and welcomed Amelie into their embrace, but-

I stopped for a moment. Not wanting to cry.  Wilford stares at me with fascination as I fight back tears. I breathe in and continue.

A demon from the other side pounced out of the waters of the pond. The sisters fought for Amelie's life. But the demon dragged Amelie into the beautiful lake. Her body never found again.

I couldn't hold back tears now. Wilford puts a hand on my shoulder. I slap his hand away. I don't want his pity.
"I still remember her cries." I whisper shakily.
"Serenity! Help!" I repeat from memory.
"I don't want to die!"
"Save me!"
"Get off of me!"
"I love you."

Wilford looked at me with empathy.
"Ever since then,  Avyanna has blamed herself for that incident. Her bitterness faded away, not wanting a similar incident happening to me." I explain. We both stand up, getting ready to leave.
"I'm so sorry Serenity. I understand now." He smiles at me and hugs me. For the first time in my life, I actually trust this man.

Wilfords POV
Such a pitiful girl, fallen right into my trap.
