Chapter 5 Weapon Power-ups

I was busy attacking the grim as usual. My saber suddenly glowed and I smiled. Now, instead of holding only the saber, I have it, a spear, and a blow gun. I thought that was amazing.

I look around me and see that the other weapons are similar.  The weapons my friends held began to light up at the same time. Soon, there's multiply as well.

I have no idea how this happened.

I did not dare to question it.

For once, things looked up as our weapons seemed to upgrade themselves by working better than they had in days and making more of them to boot.

   Amazing, I thought.

I wondered if my friends felt the same way, I did about it.

I mean, it was super cool.

I  saw another grime approach. It sneaked up behind Ren and Nora. Before I had a chance to warn them, my blow gun slung a dart towards it and blam the grim fell with a loud bang noise.

I saw Weiss struggling to freeze one of the grime and came to her assistance.

I pulled out my spear and pierced its chest.

I watched in triumph as the beats fell to their deaths.

The others fought hard and found their weapons were different than usual.

Juane (pronounced J-o-h-n-) seemed as surprised as I was about the sudden switch in the way everything worked and the multiple uses of the previous ones were ten times as strong.

I smiled.  I had no reason to believe something was fishy about the whole thing.

I ran fast towards the next one and slung my saber at it. I smirked when it landed with a splat before my eyes. The head rolled around and around before it came to a complete stop in front of Yang's left foot.

"Ew, I hate it when it does that," She said with a scowl.

I laughed. "Sis, nothing anything different?" I asked. "Summer, I do not have time for your questions are crazy schemes, now get back to work," She ordered.

I rolled my eyes at her, then grabbed my saber from the ground. I pulled the spear out of the dead grime's chest.

The others looked at me like I was the smart one and I decided to roll with it.

I dared not tell them how wrong they were and risk harming their feelings or letting them down in any way.

I  watched as Nora's hammer glowed and she hit the grime with more force. I also saw she held a sledgehammer. Ren had a bow and arrow set along with his pistols, and dagger.

Juane had his usual, sword and shield, but he had a flame thrower too. Wow, that was a big step up for him.

As more Grime approached I laid low to the ground, and the others did too. Juane put the flame thrower to the test. Soon, I saw the beasts aflame. Well, that certainly worked out well.

Good day, those grime were tough, but against my friends and I, we were tougher.
