"Anna get the pizza from the front door!" Your dad shouted as the Russel family New Year Eve party was unfolding. More and more guests, family and friends were arriving and half of them you had never even heard of.
"I'm going one sec.. keys where are they keys.. got them!" You said making your way to the front door only to have your cousin and F1 driver George Russel to barge in front of you racing to the door.

There was only 10 months between you both so you had grown up going to his kart races and sitting in the stands when you were free. George and yourself got on like a house on fire and over the past yiu you had been working in Williams as a physiotherapist for the team. You studied physio therapy at university and decided to take your final year as an apprenticeship with the Williams team. Being honest, the reason you got in was part of being related to George and they knew there would be a great understanding with you knowing what goes on during a usual day.

"Ow George! Watch your massive feet for standing in mine!" You said as he accidentally trampled your foot as he pushed past
"Sorry Anna but the boys are here!!!!!" He shouted and it was like an American frat party gathering.

Two cars pulled up outside filled with lads around the age with George and yourself and you stood there like a cod fish gaping at them. It was as if vogue decided to send their top models to a party.

"Happy new year mate!" One of the driver was called. It was Lewis bloody Hamilton. You had seen him in the paddock but never seen him this close. Next followed Charles Leclerc, Daniel Ricciardo, Alex Albon, Carlos Sainz and finally Lando Norris.

All of them were in the UK for an event taking place after New Years so George has invited them all over to join the party you were hosting.

You were stood at the door holding it open as they walked in and all you could do was smoke and stare. Having worked in F1 for the past year you had obviously briefly met some of them or heard of them at least but this was a whole new experience. You were prepared to meet the celebs at the races but not in your own house.

The last two to walk in were Carlos and Lando, Lando brought Carlos as they literally were the best of friends and you had seen their shenanigans through the past year.
"¡Hola feliz año nuevo!" Carlos said walking through the door giving you a kiss on either cheek.
"Yeah same .." you said completely dazed
"Hi, I'm lando. Am I ok with my shoes on?" He asked
"Yeah of course don't worry" you replied after having him just ask if he needs to take his shoes off
"Thanks for hosting" he said walking off
"Yeah no problem..."

What the hell just happened?!

Music was blasting and it was nearly 10pm and obviously the pizza wasn't what was knocking at the door. You took a moment to take in what had just happened but all you could think was all those men were in your house. YOUR HOUSE!

"George, I — I didn't know everyone was joining us" you'd aid pouring yourself a very large Malibu coke.
"Yeah they were here anyways so I thought better spend it together than alone." He replied. "Anna, leave some alcohol for the rest of us. Come on, we are playing beer pong in the conservatory" George said grabbing your spare hand that wasn't already holding your glass.

"Everyone this is Anna, she's my cousin and the physiotherapist for Williams at the moment. She's joining us in beer pong. Now lads, she's a little shy but she will whoop you at this!" George said basically throwing you in the room.

"Ok we need teams" Alex said as he started writing names on bits of paper to draw out.
"It will be teams of two soo.. first team is Carlos and Lewis. Second is myself and George. Then Danny and Lando which leaves Charles and Anna."

"Hey nice to meet you, I'm Anna" you said as you stood over with Charles
"Lovely to meet you, you ready to win?"
"Of course! I don't do loosing." You said laughing

The first round was George and Alex against Carlos and Lewis. Let's just say.. Carlos has a bad aim.
"Carlos your so shit! Do you have beer pong in Spain?" George shouted while throwing the ball
"Yes! I'm just not good I'm a driver not a pong ball player" he stated
"Yeah sorry Lewis you got the short straw" lando called making everyone laugh

George and Alex won that first match so it was now you and Charles against Lando and Danny.

"Your going down boys!" You called before starting the match. You really hated loosing.
"Well make sure you don't miss" Danny replied. "Anyways it doesn't matter if you come last, Williams are last all the time"

Everyone replied with an oooooo
"Now it's on." You said steadying yourself for your first throw. It went in. Yes!
"Lando let me show you how the adults win now.."
"I'm 20 not 12" lando replied laughing. He was the rookie in the group even more than George. You had watched his interviews and he was hilarious, he just seemed really nice.

The game continued and you and Charles had won. It was now the final between you guys and George and Alex.

"Your such a cheat George! You called as he got another ball in knocking you out and loosing.
"Not a cheat, just insanely talented that's all" he said with a cocky tone.
"Yeah well when you need a massage I won't be giving it you."

You were quite happily had enough to drink and you was stood at the side of the kitchen island on your phone texting back your friends before New Years. It was 5 to midnight and everyone was getting ready with their drinks and champagne.
"Hey.. Anna" a voice called but you didn't hear it over the music.
"Um.. Anna?" It called again. It was lando
"Hey, um how's your night been?" You asked putting down your phone
"It's been great thank you, just wondering if you are staying with Williams next season?"
"Yeah well, my apprenticeship finishes in February so I'll have to transfer teams possibly."
"Oh.. right"
"Why is everything ok?"
"Yeah well.. McLaren actually have a job free for the start of the season as a physiotherapist for the team to come with us to the races. Our last one quit due to travel demands but I'm sure that they would love you to apply. I'm not trying to steal you from Williams but.."
"You are stealing me ahah I really want to continue what I'm doing with all the travel and experiences. You know I might think about it. Thanks"
"No worries, um.. do you have a glass for midnight?" Lando asked putting his hand through his hair in an awkward manner
"Oh no! What time is it? It's just going to go into the ten seconds to go countdown.."
"Shit! Um where are all ten glasses??" You panicked

"3,2,1, happy new year!" Everyone called and you didn't have your glass still but lando offered you his.
"You don't mind do you?" You sheepishly asked
"Oh corse not. I'm sure I'll survive ahah"

As you took a drink from his glass and him following you said "happy new year lando, let's see what 2020 brings."
"Happy new year Anna, I really hope you go for the job" he winked
"Ahah you will be glad to know I'm the best.." you was cut off by George and the other lads rushing in
"Happy new year!!!" Was screamed. Oh my god they are loud.
"Happy new year guys" you laughed
"So urm, lando? What's going on here?" George asked
"We are talking about Anna's job"
"Well looks like your hitting on my cousin Norris." George said standing between you both as a joke

You blushed. You blushed. What?
Did lando make you blush or the fact George said lando was flirting?
No. You can't be falling for a rival team. Noooo

"Don't worry Anna your in safe hands with him." Carlos said backing up lando
"Yeah yeah whatever guys" you both kinda said trying to shake it off.

The party continued and by time you knew it you was sat next to Lewis Hamilton on the sofa with the rest of the lads and you were all giggling away at all the times each of them had messed up and all their last stories.

Lewis was really quiet actually. He wasn't a massive character but he was lovely to chat with.
It was getting early in the morning now and it was time everyone had started to leave.
"I'm sorry but no matter how good of drivers you guys are you are not driving home, you've had way too much" you yawned
"You can crash here and then leave after breakfast I'm sure it would be ok" George said
"Um yeah sure, as long as you don't mind sharing a bed with someone?" You said as you only had two guest rooms. You and George agreed you would sleep on the sofas down stairs and let the lads take your room and the two guest rooms in which George was originally staying in.

"Goodnight Anna" Carlos said hugging you like a bear.
"You sure your ok down here?"
Lando asked
"Yes of course I'll show you both to a room." You said leading them upstairs and making sure Carlos didn't fall down the stairs.
"Sorry it's a bit of a mess"
"Mess? This is spotless." Lando laughed
"Yeah I'll see you guys in the morning. Let me know if you need anything. Goodnight" you said closing the door and meeting George on the landing.

"That's everyone to a bed. I'm shattered. Officially snookered" George replied
You brought down a pillow and blanket each and fell asleep downstairs.

As each of them slowly made their way down in the morning you had made several fruit trays for them along with a pot of tea and a pot of coffee.

You was stood cutting some pineapple when you heard feet pattering on the marvel floor.
"Good morning Anna.." you heard through a husky yawn.
"Morning.. sleep ok?" You said continuing what you were doing only to turn around after to find a still very sleepy lando Norris stood in your kitchen.
"Oh um, lando. Good morning ahah" you said pushing the hair back from your face.
"Carlos is still asleep I think so I thought I'd come down here as I heard someone was up."
"Sorry for waking you.."
"No I was awake already. Don't worry."

"It smells good down here.." lando said walking over to the coffee pot
"It's either alcohol from last night or the fruit. I'll let you decide." You giggled.

"Morning Norris, morning Anna." George said walking in once again.
"Morningggg! Some of the guys are still asleep so we were just chatting
"Just chatting? Okidoki" George said taking a mug of tea and waking out.
"I'm sorry for George lando. He's just protective ahah"
"It's ok.. he doesn't bother me. Much. Aha um- you looked really pretty last night"
"Thank you, so did you. Well not pretty but you looked good" you said going a shade of red close to the strawberries you were cutting.

Lando just smiled and mean that smile shattered you. He just warmed your heart when he spoke. He was so generous and selfless and a true gent. Being older than him seemed like it scared him that you knew what what going on but in reality you had no idea what was happening apart from the fact he looked fineee!

By time everyone was up, you and lando had a good talk about F1 and the new season for both teams. He mentioned about the job again and you were really considering it now.

"Bye! See you all March hopefully!" You said as the lads were getting ready to leave.
They all have you a hug thanking you for letting them crash that night. Carlos apologised for throwing up in the champagne bucket and said he would get you a new one. He was entertaining.

"So, guess I'll see you March?" You said to lando
"Hopefully sooner if you apply for the job?"
"Yes well you will find out if I go for it won't you."
"Well yes.. I'm thanks again Anna, it's been great getting to know you."
"See you around Norris!" You said and you have him a hug.

All you could think about was having him hug you so you made a move. You didn't know how he would of responded but he hugged you back for a moment.

"Well... see you March" lando said turning to leave.
The other boys must of been watching as when they walked down the path Charles nudged his arm as if he was winding him up about something.

You waved them all off and turned to face George.
"Well. We better start tidying up then."
"Let's talk about you and Norris first.."
"What about it?"
"He couldn't keep his eyes off you last night, you shared the new year together and you haven't stopped speaking to each other this morning. He said he liked you before.."
"He said what?" You questioned
"It doesn't matter" he said turning away
"No. What have you said? Tell me now."
"At the last race he asked who you were as you walked down the paddock with me after the race. I said you were my cousin so I asked why and he said he thought you were very pretty and he was making sure you weren't my girlfriend or anything."
"Well. You didn't tell me that did you? Nope"
"Well what do you think about lando?"
"I think he's very nice, very polite. He's funny and thoughtful. Good looking too.."
"I think I know how you feel Anna. That's enough."
"I need to decide if I want to go for this job"
"What job"
"McLaren are offering a job as a physiotherapist full time and the interview is next week."
"Do what you think is right Anna but Williams will miss you."
