Rykey, Dizzy

Mikey

I didn't know what was going on with me today. But to be honest no one knew what was going on with me... ever.

I just couldn't seem to walk for long, before I needed to sit down for fear of losing my balance, breathing heavily. Luckily none of the boys had picked up on it yet, considering we had to stop every few minutes to shoot the cover. And I didn't want them to know. Hopefully this was something that I could just sleep off, maybe have a nap before going to the gym later. Nodding to myself, I set myself a task.

Make it till 5PM, and then when we get back to the flat sleep till 7PM, and then go to the gym.
I really hope this clears up soon... It's not great.
Why was I so out of breath? Why did I feel like I was going to fall down so often?

"Mikey, we're going to the next spot!" Chris yelled.

"Yeah, I'm coming!" I stood up slowly, stepping hesitantly, waiting for the feeling to return, but I seemed to be fine for now. I sped up, falling in step with Andy.
Yeah, hopefully this passed.

I stumbled on the way back to the minivan, grabbing onto a tree with shaking hands and leaning heavily on it.
The boys laughed, and I tried to laugh it off too.

"I thought I was gonna die then." I joked, pushing myself back to my feet. I sighed as I looked at my hands. I'd scratched the skin on them, leaving angry red lines all over my palms and fingers.
Oh well... It could be worse.

"If you carry on like this you will." Andy joined in on the joke. Not being able to contain myself I burst out laughing, subconsciously making sure that I still had a hand on the tree.

Then, out if nowhere, a sharp pain hit me right in the chest, and I bit back a groan of pain. I gritted my teeth as I stopped laughing, trying to grin through it so as not to worry the boys or Chris if they looked back. Luckily they didn't. I pressed my hand against my chest a few times, but it still felt uncomfortable and tight. I swallowed sharply, lifting my head to see that the boys had began walking again.

Without thinking I hurried on after them, not wanting to be left on my own, or get lost.
The tightness seemed to get worse, but I pushed through it. I could sleep in a bit, and hopefully this will have cleared up in a few hours time.

Then I stumbled again. My head felt too heavy for some reason, and I yelped involuntarily as the ground approached me at an odd angle. I hit the floor, and I frowned.
Why was I on the floor... what had happened?

"Mikey? What happened?" I turned my head slowly to see Rye on his knees beside me, but my head kept weighing me down, almost like there was a weight attached to it.

"I don't know." As I looked around slowly, the world seemed to be off kilter. "I was stood up, and now I'm on the floor." I said, hissing as my chest twinged slightly.

"Have you hit your head at all?" Rye gently pulled my head to the side, checking for any injuries.

"No, no... I think I just lost my balance." I replied, knowing for sure that I hadn't lost consciousness. There had been no pain in my head as I'd hit the floor, I knew that much.

Although, it still felt really heavy.

"Alright, let's get you up then." Rye suggested. I nodded, but immediately regretted it, feeling like there was a bowling ball rolling around in my head. I moaned as I felt a slight nausea build.

"Mikey?"

"I'm fine." I stubbornly assured. There was no way I was throwing up.
He gripped me by my arms and waist, helping me pull myself to my feet.

The second I was upright, I felt myself pitch forwards, and so I took a few staggers steps to regain my balance, gripping another branch tightly.

What the heck was going on?

"What the hell- Mikey are you okay?" Rye stepped towards me, and I turned slowly, sighing as all the boys had joined him.

"Yeah I'm fine..." I trailed off, not even having the energy to brush away Rye's hand from my forehead.

"You feel a little warm Mikey." He stated worriedly.

"It's probably just the heat... I promise, I'm fine. Just a bit dizzy." I addressed all of them.

"Have a drink then, before we set off again. We still have a fifteen minute walk back to the minivan."

Andy held out a bottle to me, which I all but snatched from his grasp with a "Thanks Fovvs."

As the liquid ran down my throat I felt slightly cooler, and I sighed, closing my eyes.

That way I couldn't see the concern in their eyes.

A minute later I opened my eyes, handing Andy back the water he'd given me.

"Ready?" Rye asked kindly, and I nodded. Again, probably not the best idea. I swallowed quickly, willing myself to not throw up.

"Yeah." I choked out, hoping that the boys wouldn't notice.

I think Rye did, but that was only because he'd hesitated by my side, only taking a step when I began to walk slowly.
I ignored his questioning glances, entirely focussed on putting one foot in front of the other.

Everything went well until the minivan was in sight. Rye and I had walked quicker to catch up with the boys, trusting the fact that I could keep my balance this time. Of course that went out the window.

I faltered in my step when my vision suddenly blurred, feeling the bowling ball return when I dipped my head down. This time I stopped walking, not wanting a repeat of last time. However nothing ever goes right for me.

The nausea that had slowly built up decided to hit me now, forcing me down to my knees as I emptied my stomach. Now my head felt too light, and I couldn't tell which way was up or down.

"Mikey?" I heard Rye speak loudly, breaking through the fog that seemed to encase me. "Mikey the boys and Chris are going to bring the minivan over to us alright. You just stay there as long as you need to."
I tried to answer, but all that I managed to get out was a moan.

My throat burned from when stomach acid had crawled its way up my throat. I rested a hand lightly on my stomach, but my stomach wasn't the problem. It was the lightheadedness that was causing all this trouble.
Why was I feeling lightheaded anyway?

A hand rubbed small circles on my back, and I leaned into it.
The nausea gradually dissipated, just as I heard gravel crunching beneath something heavy.
The boys had arrived in the minivan.
I made to get up, but Rye increased the pressure on my back.

"Just wait for this to pass Mikey... It'll be easier for you to move then." He softly spoke, and I let out another moan. I couldn't seem to do anything else.

My head flickered between feeling to heavy and too light, and I couldn't tell which one I preferred; the bowling ball or the disorientation.
I breathed through my nose, not trusting the bitter taste in my mouth.

"Rinse your mouth mate." Rye held out a bottle of water and I did just that. I handed it back, slowly taking deep breaths.

With each breath, the world began to slowly return to kilter, and the ground didn't seem to be rising to greet me anymore.

"What's been going on with you Mikey?" Rye murmered, and I shrugged my shoulders.

"I honestly don't know... I've been feeling a bit lightheaded and dizzy all day. I'd planned to sleep it off later before the gym." I answered, and I saw him nod out of the corner of my eye as I focussed on one spot on the ground.

"It's a good idea. Maybe you're just tired. Have you eaten or drunk anything today?"

"Yeah... more today than I did yesterday." I answered, sitting up properly.

"Okay. You're going to sleep in the minivan while we drive." Rye said in a way that I knew that I couldn't refuse.

"Fine." I whispered. "Help me up?"

Rye helped me to my feet for the second time today, but I didn't let go of him. I clutched onto him tightly as we walked the few steps to the minivan, Rye getting in first. He pulled me up after, and we both strapped ourselves in as we shut the door.

Knowing he wouldn't mind, I rested my head on Rye's shoulder, and he wrapped an arm around mine.
"Go to sleep mate." Rye whispered into my ear, and I sighed, breathing evenly.

"Thanks Rye."

I fell asleep then, the constant chatter of the boys and Chris sending me into a deep sleep.
