AUTHOR'S NOTE

Aaaaa it's finally happening (': I've been planning this since 2018 (just like I did with my Chloe fic, they used to be one and the same book!) and I'm so happy to finally put this out there. As far as I know, there are no Ella fics yet and it's a wrong I'm here to right!!

As you may have noticed, my Lucifer books are — for the most part — connected, so this one includes some of my other character from Light Me Up, Some Kind of Heaven and Youth Gone Wild. You don't have to necessarily read those before this, but there are most likely some spoilers and established relationships here (:

Warnings for this book include violence, implied sexual content (nothing too graphic), racism and possibly mentions of homophobia. Mostly just things you'd see while watching the show itself!

I do also want to mention that in light of the BLM and ACAB movements, I've begun to realize the image my fics put out there. Many of the shows we watch and love are cop propaganda, and we can still enjoy them even if we recognize that the main setting is cops = good, whereas lawyers are typically the enemy and so on. As we all know, that's far from reality and that's why this fic is going to have a different take on working for law enforcement. Nevertheless, Mariah, Izzy and Kai are all cops/detectives, as are Chloe and Dan etc. so let me end on this note: I do not support or condone the current justice system in the real world (especially in the USA.)
