You were having a pleasant dream until Samara woke you up.

Samara: "We're here."

You: "Already?"

You stretched and let out a yawn.

Samara: "Yeah, get ready, everyone wanted to throw you a coming home back party."

You: "Great."

The heli landed and Samara opened the door, you saw everyone standing there and they started chanting your name. Aidan simply hopped out and walked past everyone, you saw Eliza go after him, you smiled and watched them leave. Everything tuned out except for Samara's voice.

Samara: "Come on, we have a lot to catch up on."

Aidan's POV

I was walking to find the gym until Eliza caught up with me.

Eliza: "Hey Aidan."

I looked at her and raised my eyebrow.

Eliza: "What happened after you got Y/N?"

Aidan: "Well I took him into the forest after scavenging some med supplies, and then patched up his injuries, he might still have a few days of recovery left."

Eliza: "What I'm wondering is how you both took out that occupying force."

Aidan: "I took it out, Y/N simply waited for me to reach their commander."

Eliza seemed surprised and had to jog to catch up with me again.

Eliza: "You took out the force on your own?"

Aidan: "Yeah."

Eliza: "Just you?"

Aidan: "Yep."

Eliza: "Well, anyway, I was thinking while you were gone, and I-

Aidan: "Are you asking me out?"

She suddenly went red and became flustered.

Eliza: "Uh what?! What do you mean?!"

Aidan: "Come on."

She sighed and rubbed the back of her neck.

Eliza: "Yes, I'm asking you out."

I smiled which seemed to lighten her spirits.

Aidan: "Meet on the roof in a few hours, but first wheres the gym?"

Eliza: "I can show you."

She walked ahead of me and I followed behind, time to forget the past and embrace the present.

Your POV

Samara: "Okay, so listen closely, in order to win this fight against the White Mask and the military group, Harry entered a contract with a PMC called Nighthaven, their leader Kali and one of her top agents Wamai are on their way to help us."

You: "So we are enlisting our own type of military to combat the White Mask's military?"

Samara: "Yeah, and that's not all, you remember our target that we were supposed to kill at that party?"

You: "Yeah, why?"

Samara: "Hes been giving Harry info anonymously and he gave a signal to Marius and Monika telling them to not shoot. He said that the White Mask are trying to get nuclear launch codes."

You went pale and stood up a bit too quickly, causing everything to hurt, Samara grabbed you and sat you down.

Samara: "Easy, you're still injured."

You: "Nuclear launch codes, Sam do you understand what's at risk?"

Samara: "Yes I do, our lives, our friends, our whole country, and our future life together, but we won't let that happen, Harry is devising a plan."

Her phone went off and she checked the text.

Samara: "Hes calling a meeting, come on."

You: "Ok, give me a hand."

You stood up and she helped you walk, the pain wasn't as bad but it hurt to walk on you're own. Samara opened the door into the meeting room where Aidan was having an argument with him.

Aidan: "Give me a small team, I can claim my position as leader and have my finest men watching our back!"

Harry: "We can't! This is why we have Nighthaven, they will help us win this fight!"

Aidan: "If what you said is true, then anything helps, we need to fully eradicate these animals, or else they will come back and do this again!"

You stepped forward and Harry looked at you.

Harry: "Have something to say?"

You: "I agree with Aidan, I think I speak for all of us when I say that everything helps, we can't pull our punches, Aidan alone is capable of taking his group back but he will need some cover."

Harry: "It's too dangerous and we have found their chain of command, we can end this!"

Eliza: "I'll help him, he'll need it."

Harry: "Just you and Aidan won't overthrow a merc leader."

Shurat stepped forward and put his hand on the table.

Shurat: "I have some new explosives I want to test, I'm in."

Jordan and Yumiko stepped forward.

Jordan: "We're in, and hey Y/N, hope you get back in the fight soon."

Timur sighed and stepped forward and looked at Aidan.

Timur: "As much as I didn't trust you, you helped Y/N and brought him back alive, so I think you're pretty trustworthy, I'm in."

Everyone looked at Harry, he sighed and put both his hands on the table.

Harry: "You leave in a few hours, Aidan what's the destination?"

Aidan: "New York, that's where the Hells Rangers are based."

Samara: "That's the group name?"

Aidan: "Yep."

Harry: "So be it, prepare yourselves, and I wish you the best of luck, dismissed."

Everyone walked out except you and Samara.

You: "What's the plan for the White Mask?"

Harry: "We wait for Aidan to gain control of his mercs, then I'll have Nighthaven and the Rangers attack from behind while we attack from the front."

You: "Okay, can't wait."

Harry: "Oh no, if you are not in condition to fight by then I will keep you in a mobile HQ to monitor everything and issue my orders."

You: "No, I want to get these guys back for what they did to me, and they might cost me my future with the love of my life."

Samara went red and looked away chuckling.

You: "I will be part of this, I was there at the start, and I will be there at the end."

Harry looked at you and handed you a file.

Harry: "Read it, that's what we're dealing with."

You saluted him and walked out with Samara behind you, she offered to help you walk but you refused the help.

You: "Alright, let's get reading."

Aidan's POV

I was in my room using my sword to carve a skull onto the top of my helmet until I heard a knock on my door. I went to open it and Eliza was standing there.

Eliza: "Hey."

Aidan: "Hey."

Eliza: "May I come in?"

I stepped aside to let her in and shut the door behind her. She started walking around my room and noticed my staff on a workbench.

Eliza: "Nice staff."

Aidan: "Thanks."

I put my sword in its sheath and put my helmet back on its stand, I think she noticed my necklace and got curious.

Eliza: "What's that necklace mean to you?"

I don't usually tell people this, but I had a feeling that I could trust her.

Aidan: "It represents the life I never had."

Eliza: "Care to explain what that life was?"

I sat down and threw my sword onto the bed.

Aidan: "I knew someone, they were very dear to me, and they gave me this necklace. It just reminds me of her since I'm the one that destroyed a great future."

She simply looked at me and sat next to me.

Eliza: "Well, you seem to live in the past a lot, and I know that living in the past stops you from enjoying life. We just need to focus on the task at hand, and when this over we can go on that date."

Aidan: "Didn't know you were handing out life advice."

Eliza: "Well, I do have counseling sessions some times."

She chuckled and looked at me, I looked at her and she went red, she leaned in, and I don't know what came over me but I leaned in too and started kissing her, it didn't last long though since I broke it up.

Aidan: "Okay, we're taking this to quickly."

Eliza: "Does that mean you're willing to date?"

Aidan: "Yes but not you, as you said, after this is over we can go on that date."

She stood up and walked toward the door with a smile on her face.

Eliza: "See you in a couple hours."

She closed the door and for the first time in a while, I genuinely smiled. After we all prepared we went to the roof and hopped into the heli, I jumped into the co-pilot seat next to some German guy I have surprisingly yet to meet.

Marius: "Where to?"

Aidan: "New York, also who are you?"

Marius: "I'm Marius, Rainbows pilot."

Aidan: "Nice to meet you, now let's get a move on."

He took off and started the flight, I barely got any sleep, the anticipation was killing me.
