If I Stay

It's past midnight
I can't help but wonder about the things that could've been,
If I stayed,
If I didn't take the early morning flight.
We could've been at the park,
Laughing at overly affectionate lovers,
And probably you'd ask again,
"Will we ever be like them?"
I would always say that we should be friends forever,
You'd smile bitterly,
Then laugh.
If you only knew how much I love you,
I want to take you in my arms and listen to your heart,
To asphyxiate on your lips.
To pull you close and whisper my love for you,
But, I just held your hands,
Contemplating whether to confess my feelings or not,
I held your hands tight,
And dragged you to an ice cream shop,
I know how much you love vanilla,
Also the sunset and the moonlight,
As I remember you tonight,
I remember the things that made me fond of you,
Your faith in wishing stars,
Your kind heart,
The way you say my name,
Your enthusiasm about silly things,
Your beautiful eyes,
Your love.
You see,
I have a lot of questions,
Do you still have the letter I've written you?
Do you still cry over animes?
Have you read the books I gave you?
Have you fallen for another?
I don't know,
I need answers,
I miss you and it's painful,
But I think I'll leave all of this questions hanging in the air,
Unanswered,
But, I wish to the gods that they'd whisper the answers in my ears when I dream.
Right now,
I wish you well,
I hope you have your wishes come true,
I wish you still love me,
I wish you miss me too.
I love you.
