"Where is Veronica!?" A loud voice rumbled through the halls. "Where is she!?"

I yawned still tired from telling jokes and stories with Wesley, at the tree I made, last night. "Here I am."

I man in his late 40s barged into the classroom wearing a track suit. He pointed at me and said, "I challenge you to a duel of honor!"

What?

"Coach Larkey!" Mrs. Natasha my first period teacher exclaimed. "We are in the middle of class! You can't just disrupt everything."

"Meet me on the field during break for a duel of my students honor!" He cried as Mrs. Natasha weakly pushed him out of the room.

"My goodness!" She huffed heat rising to her cheeks. "I can't believe he thinks he can just do whatever he wants!"

Do I smell a ship!? I read a few romance novels and watched a few anime's in my previous world and ships were always a big part of my life. When I wasn't studying I was thinking of shop names for my favorite characters and writing horrible fan fics about them. He he, This should be interesting.

My break finally rolled around. I skipped to the field excited for an excuse to replace some of my pent up anger and annoyance. Coach Larkey waited on the field for me.

"You showed up?" He looked confused. "Meh, no matter, soon you will be defeated and as a penalty you will have to apologize to my boys.

"Fine, but if I win..." I thought about it then smirked. "You have to let me on the fighting team!"

He looked even more confused. "I've never met a girl who wanted to fight. How refreshing!"

At least he didn't look down on me.

"So swords, fist, or weapon of choice?" I asked casually.

"Seeing as how this whole situation was based on swords we will go with that." He tossed me a practice sword.

"Is that not unfair?" I asked. "Your career was largely built off your swordsmanship!"

"In a real battle you can't pick and choose these kinds of things." He lectured.

"Fine." I sighed.

I caught the sword and twirled it around a few times. It was a fun trick Garrett taught me. Coach Larkey looked a bit less sure of himself.

"Shall we start?" I gestured to the boy with the flag.

"R-right!" His voice squeaked. "On three you face your opponent! One... two... are you sure you don't want to back out Veronica?"

"Just start!" Coach Larkey and I yelled in sync.

"Okay... one... two... three!" He flung the flag down to signal the start.

Coach Larkey attack was strong to start. He attacked first not wanting to waste a second but he missed. I dodged his attack easily with my super speed and used my stealth to hide my attacks and confuse him. He struggled to keep up as I jabbed at him. Soon he tired out and I stood perfectly unharmed.

"No fair!" He gasped out of breath from my merciless attacks. "You have special abilities!"

"In a real battle you can't pick and choose these kind of things!" I quoted him and smirked.

"It's my loss." He sighed. "You are welcome to join the team but... why didn't you before?"

"I tried..." I glanced at the shocked watchers of the fighting club. "But I was told a girl can't join the club and that I should go to back the book club!"

The coach seemed surprised at my words then turned furious. "I thought I told you all not to disregards ones talent based on appearance."

"With all due respect... we didn't think it applied to girls sir." One of the club members sheepishly admitted.

"Apply to girls my ass!" Coach Larkey yelled furiously. "Maybe if we had her we could stand a chance at the championships!" Coach Larkey looked really pissed. "Club activities are after school on the field every day. Don't be late."

I nodded in understanding. "Yes sir!" I saluted and smiled. I walked away with a smile on my face. I could finally show people that girls can fight too! I could maybe even carry on Garrett's legacy. I smiled sadly at the thought. I missed Garrett. I missed Annabelle, Hailey, Susan, and Maria, the first people I met in this world and they were so kind to me. Tears started falling down my face.

"Veronica?" Wesley asked. "Why are you crying?"

I couldn't wipe the tears away since my mask was in the way but he offered me a handkerchief anyways.

"Are you okay?" His voice sounded concerned.

"Fine, I'm fine..." I couldn't stop the tears from flowing. The dripped from the tip of my mask and gently landed on my pants. I fell to the ground sobbing. Wesley(Welshmen) knelt beside me and hesitantly pat my head.

"Umm... it'll be okay?" He obviously had no idea how to comfort a girl.

I laughed while crying. "Your right... it'll be okay." I whispered trying to convince myself more than him. The tears had finally stopped. "Class is starting again soon!" I suddenly remembered that the day was not over and it was just break.

"Come on, let go!" Wesley stood up and brushed off his pants. He held his hand out for me. For a moment he looked kind of like... a prince out of a fairytale. He fell backward trying to help me up. Never mind forget the prince thing this guy was a down right idiot.

"Damn your lighter than a feather!" He cried as he fell on his butt.

"Shut up!" I laughed as we walked to class.
