Qi Methods

Qi Method is like a foundation for you as a Dou Zhe. It is like your internal energy skill. You can only possess 1 Dou Qi Method at a time and you at least have to be a Dou Zhe (Dou Practitioner). If you want a new Dou Qi Method then you will have to abandon your current Dou Qi Method. Then you will have to train the new method from the beginning. This is why it is very important which Dou Qi Method you choose.

A Dou Qi Method gives your Dou Qi an Attribute, or element. Without a Dou Qi Method, a person's Dou Qi would be described as white, or colorless. Learning a Dou Qi Method gives color to a person's Dou Qi. For example, low Huang level fire attribute Dou Qi Methods make Dou Qi a pale yellow color. The higher the rank of the method, the deeper the color.

Difference in the Qi Method

In the Dou Qi continent, the difference in the Qi Method was dependent on a few factors. The first was the accommodating capacity of the vortex holding Dou Qi. Consider two people of the same level, if one of them were to practice a Huang Class Qi Method while the other practiced a Xuan Class Qi Method, then the one practicing the Xuan Class Qi Method would definitely have a far greater battle endurance compared to the former.

The second factor was the difference in the Dou Qi quality. Under the assumption that both parties had the same level, if the one practicing the Xuan Class Qi Method had to use one unit of Dou Qi, then the one practicing Huang Class Qi Method would have to use ten times or even more than that amount of Dou Qi in order to obtain the same result as the former.

The third factor was the effectiveness in absorbing the natural energy and refining it into Dou Qi during training. This was similar to the previous point. If two people wanted to absorb the same amount of Dou Qi energy in the air, the one who practiced the Xuan Class Qi Method may only require ten minutes while the Huang Class Qi Method would require a hundred minutes...

In the world of Battle Through the Heavens, there exists flames given birth by natural forces, known as Heavenly Flames (异火). From the original Chinese characters, this should have been translated to different or abnormal flames. These Heavenly Flames are incredibly powerful, much stronger than flames created with Dou Qi, and when used by Alchemists, can help to increase the effect of the pills they created. However, these Heavenly Flames are extremely wild and explosive, not to mention extremely rare, so even if one encounters an Heavenly Flame, it is still extremely difficult to absorb and control it.

When a Heavenly Flame is present, all other flames fear and follow it because they are the kings of flames and all other flames naturally serve it. Heavenly Flames are formed through the slow accumulation of the world's Heavenly and tend to have their own unique shapes. For example, The Blue Lotus Geocentric Flame is shaped like a lotus. What's rarer is that a few Heavenly Flames will possess emotions and intelligence! The flame that possesses wisdom is known as a Flame Spirit! Things Necessary to Refine the Heavenly Flame

In other words, with this flame, one would no longer need to search for any herbs, and would be able to get boundless amounts of ingredients with just seeds.

This Living Spirits Flame is also known as the Flame of Longevity, for any person who obtains this flame would get a lifespan comparable to that of those beasts which are famous for their long lifespan. The only flaw of this flame is that this flame is not very suitable for combat, thus it does little to increment one's battle strength.

The ranks of most Alchemists can be distinguished from the depth of color of the Alchemists' Flame. Ordinary Alchemists use flames that are made from Dou Qi. For First Tier Alchemists, these flames are faint yellow in color. As their Tier increases, the color turns darker and the strength of the flame grows stronger. Before a Alchemist reaches the level of a Da Dou Shi, they can only use their flames within a Medical Cauldron. Only after reaching the level of Da Dou Shi, can one summon a flame outside of their body without using a Medical Cauldron. This is called the materialization of Dou Qi and the flames summoned in this way can be used in physical fights.

Alchemists can also use the Flames of Magical Beasts and the Heavenly Flames. These special types of flames that does not require you to be a Da Dou Shi to materialize and use in fights. However, the strength of these flames are related to the user's Cultivation Level and their Level of Dou Qi Control. The strength of a Beast Flame is determined by the Cultivation Level and the power of the Bloodline of the individual Magical Beast which the flame was obtained from. The ultimate level of a Heavenly Flame's strength is heavily dependent on the Ranking of the Heavenly Flame.

For a person to be considered a First Tier Alchemist, they must be able to refine a pellet type pill.

All alchemists were divided from tier 1 to tier 9. Tier 1 was the lowest level while tier 9 was the highest. Those tier 9 alchemist gurus were further divided into three levels, the Treasure Pill Guru, Mysterious Pill Guru, and Golden Pill Guru!

The current Naruto had already reached the Treasure Pill Guru level after having refined a tier 9 Treasure Pill back then. Of course, this had not been verified by any organizations. At this level, a faction could no longer help him verify his tier because those of his tier were already at the peak of the alchemist world.

A Mysterious Pill Guru was considered the peak of the alchemist world on this continent. There was hardly any of them. It had been nearly a thousand years since someone had become a Golden Pill Guru, so no one was able to refine a tier 9 Golden Pill.

Ranking

They are basically alchemist and can mix various ingredients ranging from common to godly items, to create pills and potions. There are very few Alchemist in the world, thus having one in your household is considered a blessing from the heavens. Alchemists are ranked from 1st Stage (Grade) to 9th Stage (Grade) and each Stage (Grade) is divided into three Tier: Low-Mid-High . After the 9th Stage there is a stage which has not been achieved for thousands of years, similarly to the Dou Di. This stage is known as the Di Stage (10th Stage) .

1st Tier Alchemist: On the badge was a simple medicinal cauldron. On the surface of the medicinal cauldron was a silver ripple that reflected a peculiar radiance upon receiving the rays of the sun. The basic requirement for a tier one alchemist was that the person must be able to successfully refine a medicinal pill that had been shaped. The type of medicinal pill was something that was randomly decided by the Alchemist Association.

2nd Tier Alchemist: If you want to pass the test for a tier two alchemist, you must not only refine a tier two medicinal pill, but your strength must also reach the Dou Shi level.

4th Tier Alchemist: On the ancient looking medicinal cauldron were four meticulously drawn silver colored waves! Real Agglomerated Fire was something that required being a tier four alchemist to create.

Requirments to be a Alchemist

Requirements to be a Alchemist First is that they must be of the fire attribute. And then, within the fire attribute, one must have a tiny sliver of the wood attribute to act as a catalysis in pill-refining.

In the Mainland, a person's attribute is determined by their soul. Most soul since birth will only have a single attribute. A many few have two attributes, either they are born with two attributes or can gain a second attribute through various occurrences. In order for one to become an Alchemist, they must have both Fire and wood affinity.

The Materials they use have to be natural treasures because even the best Alchemists can't create a god-tier pill from trash materials.

The Alchemists must have an incredible Strength; without a strong , even if one meets or even exceeds the other requirements, it would be pointless to try to refine pills.

In the alchemist world, there was an unofficial rule. Anyone who wanted an alchemist to help them refine medicinal pills that used special formulas not only had to prepare the medicinal formula by oneself, but also had to prepare medicinal ingredients. Dou Zhi Qi is split into 10 different stages, and when the body acquires 10 stages of Dou Zhi Qi, it can better condense the Dou Zhi vortex, becoming a well-respected Dou Zhe! Though there was but a one word difference between their names, the true difference was more like comparing heaven to earth: completely incomparable.

After making the breakthrough to become a Dou Zhe, one would possess the qualifications to practice a Qi Method. After practicing a Technique, the attributeless milky white Dou Qi within the body would change into the same attribute as the practiced Technique.

Manipulating the Dou Qi into an energy cloak that was attached to the body was the mark of a Dou Shi. This energy cloak not only strengthened the owner's defense, speed and attack, it also improved the owner's absorption of energy from his or her surroundings so that the energy exhausted during a fight would be supplemented. Hence, almost every Dou Shi's first action during a battle would be to call upon this Dou Qi cloak.

The vortex of a Dou Zhe was like a balloon while the Dou Qi was like the air that was contained within the balloon. This balloon had a critical point that belonged to it and once the Dou Qi it contained reached the point where it was full, it would no longer be able to contain any excess Dou Qi. If one wanted to forcefully push more in, the vortex would pop like a balloon and explode with a bang.

Materializing Dou Qi could only be achieved by those who had attained at least the Da Dou Shi level.

Anyone that became a Da Dou Shi was at least a power to be reckoned with. With that kind of strength, most places would probably rush for recruitment.

This little thing was the most crucial object to becoming a Da Dou Shi. The strong people of the Da Dou Shi class normally called it: "Dou Crystal!"
