Chapter 95

***

Halfway through the second song which Jenna and Marlene were waltzing jokingly to, suddenly they came to a stop as a blond little boy walked toward them and started yanking at Marlene's dress to get her attention.

"Marlene? Would you dance with me?" he said sweetly, looking up at her with pleading eyes.

"Hmm..." Marlene started in mock thoughtfulness, looking away. "Do you hear something, Jenna? A buzzing sound, maybe... it's really muffled, though. I can't tell."

"Hang on!" said Jenna, taking a step back and looking between Marlene and the little boy. "Mar, is this your brother?"

By that, Alice and Lily's attention was caught and so they too walked toward them with amusement.

"Hullo," said the boy, smiling up at the three girls.

"Oh, hi," said Lily brightly, looking down at him admirably. "Mar, why didn't tell us that your brother was the most adorable thing in the whole world?"

The little boy chuckled shyly as Marlene rolled her eyes, mumbling grumpily under her breath.

"Well, look what we have here!" Turning around, they saw James coming toward them with his three friends following him right behind.

When he reached them, James kneeled down on one knee to make himself the same height as the little boy. "And who are you, young man? I've never seen you before... do you go to Hogwarts?"

"I-I'm Marvin," he said shyly. "I'm only ten. I'm starting Hogwarts next year."

"If you get the letter, which I doubt that you will," Marlene muttered.

"Well, Marvin," James started with a grin, ignoring her, "I hope we'll see you in Gryffindor. Everyone knows that's the best house." He winked, standing up.

"Don't be prejudice, Prongs. All houses have their own good qualities," said Remus maturely.

"Moony here is a joker," said Sirius, ruffling up Remus's hair, who ducked away with a glare at him.

"Go on, Mar," said Jenna, turning on her. "Your brother said he wants to dance with you."

"I'm sorry if I'm giving the impression that I care, because I don't," said Marlene moodily.

"Well, would like to dance with me instead?" Alice asked the boy softly.

Marvin then went red on the face and looked down, but nodded. Alice giggle, taking his hand and leading him to the dance floor.

Β  Β  Β  "Guess we were right that you've been unfair to say your brother was anything other than precious, Mar," said Lily, looking at the blonde girl scoldingly.

Β  Β  Β Β  "Unfair?" Marlene scoffed. "Can't you see what's happening? He's using his voodoo on you too! That's what he always does! Making people believe that he's just an adorable little angel. Oh, but Marlene knows what he really is."

Β  Β  Β  "A cute ten year old?" Jenna raised a brow at her, but Marlene cursed her under her breath and went by the food table, busying herself with the snacks.

Β  Β  Β Β  Jenna grinned and shook her head at the girl, until her attention was grabbed when someone cleared their throat behind her.

Β  Β  Β Β  Turning around, she saw Sirius standing behind her, smiling handsomely. With that, he bowed down to her lightly and raised his hand. "Would you give me the honor?"

Β  Β  Β  Jenna chuckled at his cheesiness, but then took his hand anyway, walking across the hall where everyone else was gathered, dancing.

Β  Β  Β Β  In a quick motion, Sirius spun her around and then pulled her into his chest, holding her waist with one arm, his other hand taking a hold of hers as he led the dance.

Β  Β  Β  "You look beautiful tonight, Jenny," he said charmingly. "Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?"

Β  Β  Β Β  "No, but I think I scraped my knees crawling from hell."

Β  Β Β  "Damn it, Jenna! Stop ruining my pickup lines!" Sirius huffed, making her laugh.

Β  Β  Β  "Well, you don't look too bad yourself in that tux, Mr. Black," Jenna whispered, looking up at him through her lashes.

Β  Β  Β Β  Sirius grinned. "Trust me, I would look better if it was off."

Β  Β  Β  Jenna stared at him blankly. "Did you just compliment yourself?"

Β  Β  Β  "No, I simply stated a fact."

Β  Β  Β  "Cocky much?"

Β  Β  Β  "Very much."

Β  Β  Β Β  Jenna shook her head at him in disbelief. Sirius then let go of her hand and wrapped both arms around her waist, pulling her closer so they bodies met as they swung lightly to the song.

Β  Β  Β Β  Jenna still felt tingles wherever his hands touched her. And then, she put her arms around his neck, bringing him down for kiss.

Β  Β  Β Β  But they had to pull apart when shortly after they heard someone clear their throat from beside them.

Β  Β  Β  Looking around, they saw Mr. Potter glaring at them as he was dancing with his wife, but then Mrs. Potter rolled her eyes and purposely stomped on his foot.

Β  Β  Β Β  "Ouch!" He winced in pain. "Damn it, woman! What did I ever do to you!?"

Β  Β  Β  But Mrs. Potter only shrugged innocently. "Sorry... it was an accident."

Β  Β  Β Β  "Yeah, right," he scoffed sarcastically. "An accident, my arse."

"Your parents are crazy," Sirius whispered, staring at the couple bicker from afar with an amused smile on his lips. "Now I know who you get it from."

"Did you just call me crazy?" Jenna raised a playful brow at him.

"Oh c'mon, Kitten. There's no shame in being crazy; I am too," he then grinned before saying, "I'm crazy for you."

"That was... lame."

Sirius rolled his eyes again in frustration. "You know, it wouldn't kill you to appreciate my compliments! That's the second one you're ruining tonight!"

"Well, what would you rather me do?" she then continued in a mockingly lofty voice, "Oh, Sirius. You're so charming. How did I get so lucky to have you?"

"Oh, stop it, Jenny. You're making me blush," he said, making her chuckle.

Β  Β  Β Β  Jenna then sighed. "We're just as crazy as my parents, aren't we?"

Β  Β  Β Β  "Yes," Sirius nodded. "Yes, we are."
