Chapter 8: Seriously?!

Beast Boy POV

Monday

"YOU DID WHAT?!?!" Good god! I've never heard Raven yell that loud! I think I heard all the lightbulbs explode in the lobby.

"Woah woah woah chill. I don't think he knew what he was doing. Robin's stupid when he's tired." Cyborg tried to defend Robin, but it's way too late for that.

Robin has gone over the line, made it explode, and then chopped it's remains into tiny pieces.

If she wasn't going to come back then, she definitely won't come back now. At least not for whatever Robin says.

"Chill?! CHILL?! THAT BIRD BASTARD EXPERIMENTED ON ME WHILE I WAS SLEEPING!!" She was fuming. "I get that I'm not part of this stupid team, but that doesn't give you permission to touch me let alone experiment on me!!"

This is going to end so badly...

I'm pissed at Robin now because. He's just standing there like he did nothing wrong. It's like he doesn't even want Raven back. We agreed that we wouldn't do it, but he did it anyway.

OOOH I wanna throw him under the bus right now! But I won't. He's still part of the team.

"Raven please relax. You made the refrigerator explode." Starfire said pointing to the carnage.

"Does it look like I care?!"

"No," c'mon Rob don't make things worse for yourself. "But you are living here." Why?

Raven just stopped entirely.

She looks like she's about to strangle him.

But all she does is grab Star's hands and drags her down the hall.

"Hey! Where are you going?!" Robin calls after her. She doesn't answer. Star is yelling as Raven drags her. We follow her until she stops at Robin's door. Somehow she starts up Star's starlaser and completely welds his door shut.

She then drops starts if she dropped a mic and walked away, clearly still pissed.

"Great."

"You kind of deserved that dude. You know she's sensitive and keeps secrets. We said she wouldn't like it but you didn't listen." I say in the calmest voice I can.

"Look Beast Boy," he said obviously aggravated. "I was just trying to help. I didn't know she'd react this way, so you can just stop blaming me for everything, because we all know that this is NOT my fault."

He stomps away probably to the gym. I can see Star is torn.

Should she calm her boyfriend or her best girlfriend?

"You two go to Robin. I'll take Raven. He probably doesn't wanna look at me right now anyways." They nod and we go off in opposite directions.

Raven is on the roof destroying anything she can find. She's about to chuck the volleyball net into the water. But I grab it right before she does.

"Hey, we have a game planned for tomorrow." I say lightheartedly. She just rolls her eyes and drops it.

"What do you want?" She asked annoyed.

"To try to calm you down so you don't make us explode." She scoffs and walks to the other side of the roof.

"What do you care?" She asks annoyed.

"Because I wanna make sure you're ok. Because I care." She rolls her eyes

"Between you and me, I don't like what Robin did. He brought it up last night and we discussed it. We told him he didn't have a right to do that and it is an invasion of your privacy. He promised he wouldn't do that to you. But he must have crossed his fingers. We all want you back and it's not like this is helping." I say.

I think I got to her this time. She looked pretty releaved to hear me say that. She relaxed her shoulders and looked at me longingly.

"It....it wasn't all of you?" She thought we all did this?

"No. We were all against it. But he went behind our backs." She held her stomach and looked at her hands.

I walk over closer and she looks up at me. Once again, our faces were inches apart. I stepped back a bit.

"Look Raven, I know that you won't forgive him for a while, but don't let him sway your thinking please..."

She looks at me and I can see a little hope. A little glimmer of hope sparkling in her eyes. Did I do something? Did I make another emotion go over?

She dismisses the hope for melancholy. Then melancholy for stoicism. She closes her cloak and her eyes.

"Mmm. Shut up Knowledge." I did! I did! It's just Rage now right?

"What?"

"Nothing. Shut up." I'm laughing to myself. Ok I get it now. We have to make her feel secure and comfortable here.

It's just Rage left, this is not going to be easy. Rage isn't giving up without a fight.

"Hey. Could you...bring Robin up here?"" She asked.

"Uh, why don't we meet in the ops room..." I say heading down the stairs. She chuckles a little knowing exactly why I said that. I'll be totally honest, I don't exactly trust her on a roof with somebody she's upset with, and that same person she doesn't trust to begin with.

Her laugh has changed. She sounds calm, cool and collected, yet stolid and restless at the same time. It makes me slightly uneasy. It sounds...evil... Might be Rage, or it might just be Raven being Raven, or...no god forbid that.

I wonder why she wants to talk to him... Maybe to make amends? Probably not.

She walks behind me quietly with her cloak still closed.

I don't really turn around simply because it feels awkward. But I'm going to leave it.

Robin was standing with his arms folded looking out the window. Star was standing next to her and Cyborg was in the kitchen looking slightly annoyed.

He noticed us and decided to say something.

"Rob." He says nonchalantly. He motioned his head towards Raven and I as soon as he turned around. Starfire turned around too and a wide grin instantly appeared on her face.

"Oh! Friends! Are you feeling better Raven?" She asked prancing over.

"Yeah. Sure." She glared at Robin.

Robin made his way over, his attitude not changing.

"Hey...Look, I–" Raven stopped him.

"No. You look. I'm just have to do something before I start." Everybody waited.

She slapped him and the noise seemed to echo all throughout the tower. Robin just took it knowing he kind of deserved it. We all jumped and looked surprised at how blunt she was with it.

"I needed that." Robin narrowed his eyes as he held his cheek. "Ok. I'm going to try to be calm, not for you, but so I don't kill anybody. I know you're tying to 'help' me, but you should think about the people around you."

"Yeah dude. We told you not to but you ignored us." I say.

He gives a long sigh and unfolds his arms.

"I wasn't thinking very clearly last night. I haven't been sleeping well and I was tired. At the time I thought it was a good idea, but I instantly regretted it when I got the results. I'm sorry Raven." She brought her hands up to her hood and pulled it down.

That must mean she accepted his apology.

I'm surprised she didn't ask what the results were. He told us though. And I can see why he regretted it. The results are not exactly in our favor for getting in her back.

Hey! I'm exited to continue this. I most definitely will finish this book as I intended to the start. So I hope you enjoy the new parts. I've been learning from my English teacher how to write a little better and I think that I've gotten better since I abandoned this book, so enjoy!
