Favorite Place Quest Part 8: Momo

    "Momo Yaoyaorozu."

The name is dropped like every other day. The boys had gone back to the random wheel app for this one, and Bakugou is thankful. It's looking like it is going to be a pretty chill week so far. Movies, aquariums, and now the goody two shoes of the class?

Just like every day, he goes to his room to jot down the numbers and get ready. Aoyama informs him when she is ready to go, and then they leave.

-

The teachers see the pair leave through their own dorm windows. They have taken to having a little more fun with this set up by seeing who he leaves with and taking a guess about how his quests will go. Nedzu is keeping a track of all of their guesses.

"He left with Momo today!" Midnight says. The principal writes down her name and the date.

"Alright. What guesses do we have today?" He asks.

They all throw around some ideas. Some say she seems like the museum type while others guess library. The though of a small coffee shop is tossed around a bit, but the idea of her and books stuck. So in the end they decide that for Momo she would choose that bookstore near the small café.

"I honestly think Bakugou will enjoy that. He likes his quiet." Mic says.

"Yes, but the quest isn't about he likes. One of his rules states that they are not to take him where they think he'll like. It's about honesty." Aizawa reminds him.

Everyone nods along, remembering how Bakugou told them the rules. It is a decently structured challenge he has going. Especially after adding a bit more foundation to it when he noticed the perks were a bit too rocky. They couldn't wait to see who makes it to the top five. Seeing them take advantage of the perks will make this even better.

-

"You and that driver close?" Momo asks Bakugou once they reach their stop.

"He's as much a part of this challenge as everyone else at this point. I think he's as eager for the results of all of this as our teachers." Bakugou says.

He holds the door open for her as she steps into the building. The smell immediately hits him. The herbal scent relaxing him more by the second. Another reason he was happy to get Momo. He knew her well enough from the class study sessions, and the cabinets in the kitchen, to know that one of her most favorite things in the world is tea.

They sit at a small table and look at the cards that hold the different teas they offer. Not only did they hold the name and price, but the cards held information on the purpose of each tea. What they do to help you.

A waitress comes over and asks them what they would like to drink, and if they would like any cookies to snack on as well. Once she got their order Momo starts their conversation.

"Do you know why I like tea so much?" A question that Bakugou was definitely not expecting, and one he apparently wasn't meant to answer since she just continued. "It's because each one is beneficial in it's own way. No matter what tea you get, it will help you somehow. I learned that when my parents brought me here as a child."

"I thought you just liked how each one has a different flavor, but are all healthy." He admits.

"Well that too." She says with a laugh. "I also like how how it is proper to drink for almost any occasion. It's all around just a perfect drink."

"Which flavor is your favorite?" Bakugou asks out of sheer curiosity.

"It's hard to choose a favorite since all have their own uniqueness." She says.

With this sparked a whole conversation one the different leaves that she liked. Not just that but the importance of the freshness and how it effects the flavor. This is obviously a really important topic to her.

Bakugou knows that everyone in his class has at least one topic they are really well versed in. Whether they learned it because they loved the topic, was just curious, or because they grew up with it, they have that knowledge. It's easy to tell she learned these things because it was just something she loved.

The way Momo's eyes light up when he asks her a question that lets her dive deeper into her bucket full of tea knowledge is proof enough. It's the same as when Kaminari is asked about video games, or Deku about heroes.

He knows that Momo rarely gets to share her special interest with the class. The only way she gets to is by making the tea she has for everyone. He has seen the way people shrug her off when she tries to tell them about what she put in the cup. So he is glad that she chose to actually show him her favorite place instead of lying about it. She could have easily chosen something else, and placed the tea back on the shelf, but if she had then he wouldn't get to see her so happy.

"Thank you." Momo says as they get back on the bus.

    "For what?"

"For listening to me ramble. It felt good to actually be able to share my knowledge with someone. And with someone who actually asked questions at that."

"Well it's interesting. Usually when I make tea it's a ginger tea when I'm sick. Other than that, the only tea I've drank is what you make. Plus, today was about you. Not me. Surely everyone has figured that out by now with the stories shared." Bakugou says.

"I had a feeling. That's what I like about you Bakugou. Even though you don't show it often, you care about those around you. Mina told you to make a challenge that should have been all about you, but the very first quest was all about us. You've made everyone who has participated in the quest this far feel special, and I just know whoever wins your hand in the end will feel the most special."

"She told me to make a challenge where the end goal is a relationship. Relationships aren't supposed to be one sided. So why would I make the challenge have one sided enjoyment?" Bakugou asks.

Momo can't help but to smile when he explains it like that. He really did put a lot of thought into this. This wasn't just a game to him. If he's willing to take a high school romance challenge seriously, then she can only imagine how serious he would be in a relationship. Knowing that only fans her determination to win, because she is not looking for someone who won't take their relationship lightly.
