Chapter 8 - Ship

Once the ship leaves the port, Budgey told us that she unsealed the ship to go down the hull to get the fuel. "When you landlubbers get in the ship, make your way to the hull. The fuel should be in there."

I replied to her, "Got it. Let's get going!" We started to find a way to get into the ship's hull to search for the fuel. Willow told me to find the fuel, while she stays here to think, and she would go with me. "You go ahead, I'll catch up soon. I just need to think for a moment."

As I crept through the ship's hallways to find a way to enter the hull, I tried my best to be brave alone while Willow goes into the ship to fight some of Budgey's crew mates.

Since the ship was unsealed, it was really dangerous that I have to be careful to avoid the infected crew mates in there. Most inside of the ship was clean, but some of them are run down.

While I was trying to find a way to enter the hull, I was been ambushed by an infected arctic fox. He had half of his face exposed, revealing his skull, and he walks slightly bobs up and down. He started to chase me through the ship, as I tried my best to avoid him.

When I went into a cafeteria, an infected kangaroo spots me, and begins to chase me. However, Willow knocks the cremate in time. Then I entered the pipes room, where I tried to find a way to drain the water levels to get to the cargo room where the fuel is located. I found a screwdriver from a safe that I can fix pipes to drain the water levels.

Once I did that, the water levels drained, and I entered the engine room where I unlocked the door with a key that leads into the cargo room. Then I stepped onto bear trap. I think that the arctic fox placed these traps so I can get caught.

After I freed myself from the trap and unlocked the cargo room, I tried to find a way to unlock the green crate where the fuel is. Then the arctic fox chases me again, as I went into the control room.

When I went up to the control room, I noticed that the screens of the controllers are multicolored. I found out that I can use these ordered colors to put them on the Color Code Pad of the green crate.

After I did that, I went to the upper deck to obtain the white key. But an infected pig crewmate caught me, and he chases me throughout the desk as I got the white key from the safe. However, Willow came to the deck to knock him down, as I managed to escape in the process.

When Willow and I opened the door of the green crate, we found some fuel drums in there that I can fuel the ship to Doveport. I assume that four fuel drums would be enough for the ship to go across the North Sea, I guess.

Once we tried to carry the fuel drums to Budgey, Willow asked me that if there's enough fuel for the ship. "So, this is all the fuel that's left? There's barely anything." "It should be just enough for us to get across the sea." I replied to her, assuming that would be enough for the ship.

We conversate about the amount of fuel in the crate. Then Willow said, "If it gets you to shut up, I'm all for it." But suddenly, the infected kangaroo that I encountered earlier, approaches us from behind.

"Willow, behind you!" I shouted, as I warned Willow that the kangaroo is behind her. But before the kangaroo attacks us, the door of the crate suddenly closes. The kangaroo must've accidentally hit the lock button on the container, because we found ourselves locked in.

"No, no, NO!" Willow cried in anger, as she is banging on the door. She then complains about being stuck with me in the crate. "Great. Fantastic. Now I'm trapped in here with you." "That's not possible, I'm sure we can get it open!" I said, telling her that we can manage open the door.

She said, "We've got nothing but barrels to get out of here." I said to her, "Well, since we're trapped, I guess we're gonna need to learn to get to know each other." We then had an argument and a conversation about our separate lives.

I begin, "Well, since we're trapped, I guess we're gonna need to learn to get to know each other." She started to say, "I'd rather get to know a sewer gator than a dirty cop." "I was just following orders, Willow. I was doing my job." I told her. She said, "So was I, I was protecting my family."

I said to her, "There was nobody in your room when we searched it." "Because you cops took them away already. I haven't seen my parents for over a decade." said told me, "Now tell me, where are they?" She asks me where are her parents.

I replied, "I don't know Willow, I don't have their records on me." Then she said, "You're right, because you're just another cog in a big machine. That's all you'll ever be." I told her that the police took her parents away. "You took away friends from me too, you know. You're no angel."

She said to me, "We can't be angels in a world like this, Miguel." I kept telling Willow that it would be best for us to start getting along, as nothing good could come of us keeping our hostilities. None of us are innocent, and it's the time for us to accept that.

Then I said to her about getting along with her. "I want to help you, Willow. So, I ask that you do the same for me. For us." She asked, "What's the use in that...?"

After more arguments, we finally heard a voice a heard coming from behind the locked door. "They're in here!" We found out that the Safe Place members eventually found us locked up. As they opened the door, I asked to them, "What the- how'd you find us?!"

After they unlocked the door, Mimi explained that there were no infected to be found in the ship, so they came down to see what we were up to. "We got worried! None of the infected were to be found, so we searched the ship until I found a significant heat signal coming from this container." "We've got a mission to follow, and a friend to meet!" Despite there was infected crewmates in the ship, how did she know that there wasn't any?

Then Pony told us, "Georgie, the little rascal, ran ahead and heard you two from inside." But Georgie said to him, "Hey! I was just trying to help!!" Zuzy jokes about him being helpful for once in finding you. "Yeah, for once!"

Georgie exclaimed to her, "You take that back!" I asked, "Where's Budgey?" Then I heard the sounds of explosions, causing our reunion to be quickly interrupted. "Huh?!" I yelped. Pony suggests us that we should check out. "We should check out what's going on."

We quickly met with Captain Budgey outside. I asked her, "What's going on?" She replied, "We've arrived." She informed us that we arrived at Doveport.

It could just be seen off in the distance, accompanied by the expanse lights and small explosions. The fuel we retrieved should give the Medora a push to the docks there. I gulped and looked around, seeing the worried faces on everyone else. We had no idea what we were in for.
