It's the day that I've dreaded for a while. It's the day where I say goodbye to Lia for the last time for a while. I wake up early so I can go to the shop to get her flowers and a card. Just girlfriend duties.

After being out for 45 minutes, I arrive home to Lia cooking some breakfast. Luckily the flight is in the evening so we have all day together. Lia was surprised to see me up early, never mind seeing me with some flowers and a card. She came up to me and kissed my cheek softly. I embraced it and pulled her in for a kiss on the lips.

Lia: Well isn't this a surprise?

Caitlin: Oh shush. Got to make the most of our last day together.

Lia: Don't even remind me. I'm dreading the trip to the airport.

Caitlin: Oh I'm dreading it too. But hey, I've got you some flowers and a card. Open the card when I've left though.

I hand her the flowers, she fills a vase with water and puts them in it. As she's cooking breakfast, I cuddle her from behind while the song "I guess I'm in love" plays in the background. I softly kiss her neck and she turns around and it's me close. We just held eachother for 2 minutes before the smoke alarm started going off.

Luckily, the food didn't burn and we managed to have some lovely breakfast. After finishing the food, I did the dishes before heading upstairs to continue with packing.

Caitlin: Lia, have you seem that fluffie jacket of mine? I can't find it.

Lia: Hm no, I haven't seen it.

I look up at her and there she is, in the jacket. I mean I can't take it off her now can I? She gives me the puppy eyes and I just can't say no to that girl.

Lia: I just wanted something that's yours so I can wear it when your gone.

Caitlin: Look, you can keep it. Soft Lia is my favourite. Plus, it looks better on you anyways.

I continue to pack and after hours, Lia and I finally finish packing my suitcases. We've only got an hour left before we need to leave for the airport, sad I know. We decided we wanted to go on one last walk before leaving which is one of our favourite things to do together.

We walk hand in hand throughout the forest and i took some photos of Lia while on the trail. That's going to be my farewell photos for later. Lia catches me glancing at her and i can tell that my cheeks have turned red. She's just amazing.

We head home and prepare to head to the airport. The sad feeling hadn't really hit me but as we prepare to leave, it all comes flooding in.

Lia: Have you got everything now? Passport, suitcases, phone?

Caitlin: Yup, I've got all of em'.

I put my suitcases in the car and then head inside the house for the last time. I'm going to miss this place more than i thought I would. Lia and I have one last check of the house before heading out to the car for the last time to head to the airport.

I offered to drive and Lia accepted that. I start the engine and now the journey to the airport has started. Lia connects her phone to the car and plays our playlist from Spotify which contained a lot of love songs. There's currently 30 minutes left until we arrive at the airport and the sadness hits us.

For a little, Lia and I look eachother in the eyes and I can see that she's tearing up.

Caitlin: Hey now, none of that now. It's going to be okay.

I placed my hand on her thigh and she calmed down. These last few moments with her are going to be the hardest moments we've had to have with eachother. I pull up to the car park of the airport and it's time to head into my gate and security.

After putting the suitcases through and getting my ticket, it's time to leave Lia. Not before saying goodbye though. I pull her into a hug.

Lia: I'm going to miss you so much Cait. This will literally be the longest we're going to be apart.

Caitlin: I'm going to miss you so much more. Just think of it, we can FaceTime when we're free and I'll be coming to visit often.

Lia: That's true. When's the next time you're coming here?

Caitlin: Slow down now Li, I've not even left the country yet. But it'll probably be around Christmas time.

Lia: That's literally months away. Don't know how I'm going to cope.

Caitlin: I love you Lia.

Lia: I love you more Caity.

The announcer announced my flight now boarding and now it's time for me to leave her. I pull her close for the last time, she holds me tight, tighter than she's ever held me before.

Caitlin: I guess this is my que to go. I love you. I'll message you when I land.

Lia: I love you. Make sure you do. Safe journey there my love. See you on the other side.

We have a long and passionate kiss and I leave her for the last time for a while. While on the plane, I decided I should post them pictures of Lia on Instagram just to let everyone know I've left.
