Chapter Three - A normal day at the office

A normal day in the office

1 year later

 Percy's POV:

It has been a year since I joined SHIELD and let's just say it was anything but easy. Well, tomorrow it would have been one year since this has all happened.

I been on a whole lot of missions, been shot in the leg once, almost lost an eye, broken my nose a couple of times from drunk people. But I love my job. I am now a level seven agent of SHIELD with help from Sierra, who is a level eight agent.

On my birthday, Sierra got me a phone that was modified to not attract monsters.

I became close friends with Clint and Natasha. Clint and I always have a good laugh. Sierra looks up to Clint like a brother and so do I. He is like the older brother I have always wanted. Natasha is like sister to me.

Six months after I joined SHIELD, Sierra's father Loki threaten war on the world using an alien army called the chitauri. He could bring the Chitauri to earth using the Tesseract, an energy source of unknown potential. Which Loki stole from Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S. which was a joint venture between S.H.I.E.L.D and N.A.S.A., formed to investigate phenomena beyond the range of conventional scientific understanding.

Ugh, my mind can't take so much information.

Anyway, Loki destroyed that base, and took the Tesseract. He had this weird sceptre to control the minds of several SHIELD agents including Clint and a mortal friend of Thor, Dr. Erik Selvig.

So in response, Fury decided to reactivates the Avengers Initiative. Fury said, "The idea was to bring together a group of remarkable people to see if they could become something more. To see if they could work together when we needed them to, to fight the battles that we never could." The team members are,

Tony Stark-Iron Man

Steve Rodgers-Captain America

Bruce Banner-The Hulk

Natasha Romanoff-Black Widow

Clint Barton-Hawkeye (After he snapped out of the mind control)

Thor-Thor, God of thunder

Sierra Campbell-Illusion

Me (Percy Jackson)- HideTide

Yeah, apparently having two demigods (Not counting Thor) is a good thing.

Sierra was a mess when Loki appeared. She kept getting nightmares about Loki demanding she joins Loki's side. She didn't sleep for days. Even after we defeated him.

Tony turned Stark Towers into the Avengers Tower after the war with the Chitauri for the Avengers to live there if they want. Tony lives there all the time, as does Steve and Bruce. Thor lives there if he is not needed on Asgard. Clint and Romanoff live there when not on missions and same with Sierra and I.

Speaking of Sierra and I, we began dating after the battle. Tony thought we were the perfect couple and he decided to play love songs whenever we were around.

Clint and Thor decided that since Sierra's father wasn't around, they would give the 'fatherly' talk. It involved threats and injures if I hurt her feelings. I am officially scared of Clint and Thor.

I have had no contact with the Greek Gods or their Godling Spawn and I am happy of that. Maybe it is because of they think I'm dead? Oh well, it doesn't matter.

I now know learnt how to shoot a gun. Natasha gave me a Glock 26 to use. Yet I'm completely rubbish at shooting with a bow.

I have been trying to find some Celestial Bronze to create some more weapons. But so far we don't even have enough to make a dagger.

You can't find any on the monsters, a few scraps if you're lucky. But nothing more. Sierra tried a couple of spells to duplicate the bronze but none of them are working.

Sometimes a few demigods that either me or Sierra rescues and we take them to Camp Half-Blood, which now is a camp for Greek and Roman Demigods, something that I have wanted for the Camp before I was thrown off Olympus, would give us some Ambrosia and Nectar.

Sometimes if a female demigod had a bad childhood with males. Sierra would go alone and take them to the Hunters and leave quickly without being seen.

I remember the first Demigods we saved.

I was running through the forest, a pack of Hellhounds were chasing after a pair of twins. A boy and a girl. About nine years old. They both had blue eyes and blonde hair. I knew by their looks they were children of Apollo.

It had been a few months since I joined SHIELD. I was wearing the SHIELD field agent uniform without the logo so the demigods didn't know where to find me.

The hellhounds had surrounded to demigod children. The monster were growling and snapping their jaws at the young children who were sobbing. Tears spilled down their faces.

Then an arrow whizzed past me, hardly missing me and hitting a hellhound at the back of its head. It howled in pain and dropped to the ground.

A girl walked next to me, her bow notched with a Celestial bronze arrow. Her Auburn hair was tied in a ponytail. Her eyes were a focused silver. The hellhounds growled at her but soon ran off. She put away her bow and arrows. She smirked to me,

 "You're welcome Jackson."

"I didn't believe I said 'Thanks.'"

"Well, learn you manners, your being very rude."

"Shut up."

Sierra rolled her eyes and carefully walked to the cowering demigods. She kneeled next to them. "Hey sweeties, are you okay?" She whispered. The boy was hugging his sister in a protective way. He nodded shakily, "W-what were those things?" I sighed and kneeled as well.

"Those were Hellhounds." I answered in a soft tone. "Hellhounds?" The girl whispered. "Yes. Hellhounds are Greek monsters. They have a bad habit of 'playing' with Demigods." Sierra said.

"That didn't look like playing to me." The boy said. "You're right." I commented. Sierra punched me in the gut. I groaned in pain and the kids giggled, "You think this is funny!" I wheezed. "Yes!" The twins replied.

"Kids, what are your names?" Sierra giggled still enjoying my pain. "I'm Madison. People call me Maddie" The girl said, "I'm Ryan." The boy finished.

"Madison, Ryan, what do you know of Greek Gods?" Sierra questioned. "Not a lot." Ryan and Maddie said. "I'll tell them." I groaned. After explaining the concept of the Gods, the kids were amazed. "We are children of Greek Gods?!" The twins squealed. I nodded. "Who is our dad?"

"My guess, Apollo, god of music, poetry, oracles, sun and a heck lot more. You have his hair and his eyes." I smiled. "Awesome, wait what happens now?" Ryan asked growing worried. His eyes were filled with worry.

"Well we can't leave you here, those Hellhounds may come back." Sierra stated. "But, there is a place safe for people like you. It's a camp where you learn to fight monsters and live safely. You will have half-brothers and sisters to hang out with as well!" The twin nodded eagerly.

"How far are we from Camp Half-Blood?" I asked Sierra. She dug into her pockets and pulled out a phone that Thor, her uncle, gave her. The phone could pretty much do anything. It can change size like the Daedalus Laptop. It can give information about anything.

It looked like an I-Phone with the Norse God Symbol on it. The kids stared at the symbol in confusion. "A gift from my Uncle." Sierra explained. The kids nodded understandingly. "Our mum gave use these when we were babies." Maddie said pulling out a necklace with a sun on it. Ryan pulled out a similar necklace. "She said it had something to do with our dad. I never understood it till now." Ryan muttered.

Sierra nodded and looked back to her phone, "Okay, we are several kilometres away, if we leave now we should get there in less than two hours. If we wait till sunrise, it would be hard to say, maybe an extra hour. Maybe two if Apollo is smiling." "Let's go then." I responded. Sierra nodded.

After hours of travelling and killing monsters. We came close to the borders of camp. We stopped just before Thalia's Tree. "Here's the camp. Once you get past that tree you'll be safe." I said softly.

"Can't you come into camp with us?" Maddie begged. I smiled softly and kneeled next to her. "I'm not really allowed to go to camp now."

"What about you?" Ryan asked Sierra. Sierra smirked, "I would never be allowed in the Camp. But hey, don't worry, we'll be fine." Ryan and Maddie frowned. Sierra saw how upset they were, "Don't get upset, I have a gift for you." The twins' eyes lit up. "Ok! OK!" They chanted happily, their eyes filled with happiness.

Sierra chuckled, before her eyes went a sunny yellow. She was muttering in a different language. There was a dim flash and in her hands were two golden backpacks. She gave the twins a backpack each. They eagerly opened the bag to see what in-side was.

In-side was a bow with several arrows, a dagger, a small plastic bag filled with Ambrosia and a flask filled with Nectar and a bag filled with Golden Drachmas. I couldn't help but smile, a welcome package to camp, cool. Sierra gave the twins the warning about Nectar and Ambrosia and showed them how to use the Drachmas and what to say.

The sun was beginning to rise. I heard campers waking up. I looked to Sierra in concern. It would only be a matter of time before they see us. Sierra also seemed to notice this.

I heard a camper scream, "STOLLS!" and I could help but laugh. I missed the pranks that were played. I missed Capture the flag, I missed walking around Camp without fear. I missed life at camp before the war.

Just before Maddie and Ryan pasted through the border, a large growl was heard from behind us. "Not again." I groaned. I turned round to see two large Hellhounds. "I thought we killed the rest of them." I grumbled. Sierra wrapped her arms round the twins to protect them. Sierra glared at the hellhounds, her eyes went a red colour.

Without thinking I uncapped Riptide and charged the hellhounds. I heard the Sierra pushing the twins inside camp and joining my side, a sword and her dagger in her hands.

With every cut, kick, duck, slice the Hellhounds soon disappeared in a puff of golden dust. The twins were watching in wonder. "Awesome!" Ryan cried. Sierra giggled. "I guess it was, ok you two, go to the big House and find Chiron, and he'll help you." The twins asked one more question before running to the big house, "What are your names?"

I sighed, "I'm afraid if I told you, you would be kicked out of camp."

The twins nodded sadly before running to the big house. I sighed before following Sierra back to SHIELD.

-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-

 PRESENT!

I was in one of the Labs at SHIELD. I would have used one of the Labs at the Avengers Tower but here I can't be interrupted.

I was studying some monster dust. I wanted to see if there's another use for the dust apart from being cheap pixie dust. So far no progress. I groaned and hit my head on the metal table, muttering curses under my breath.

"Still trying to find something with that dust?" A voice called. So much for not being interrupted. I look up to see Clint smirking. "I know I'm on the something Clint!" I protested. "Yeah, keep telling yourself that." Clint replied turning away.

I focused on the jug of water next to me and made it sneak above Clint. Once it was in position I called. "Hey Clint, what's that up there?" Pointing to a spot of the ceiling. Clint being an idiot looked up.

Then I dumped the water on him. His eyes were closed, his hair plastered to his forehead. He turned to me and spat out some water that had fallen into his mouth. His clothes were soaked. "I just got this dry-cleaned!" Clint moaned looking at his SHIELD uniform. I fell out of my chair laughing.

Next thing you know Clint is glaring at me with an arrow in his hand, he doesn't just use them for shooting. I squealed, picked up the monster dust in a container and sprinted out of the Lab, Clint hot on my tail. I chuck the monster dust in my room at SHIELD and continue sprinting down the hall.

Agents walked calmly down to halls and stared as I sprinted past at full tilt with an angry avenger behind me, water sprayed everywhere as he pasted, and waving an arrow around like a lunatic.

"Call the Mental Asylum!" I screamed to passing agents. "Birdbrain gone loco!" I continued screaming. Then I past Fury. He puts his arm out to stop me from running. "Agent Jackson." I smiled weakly. "Director, please let me through." He raise an eyebrow at me in confusion. I huffed and began explaining.

"Long story short.....CALL THE MENTAL ASYLUM!!!!!! HE'S GONE MENTAL!!!" I screeched. Clint suddenly appeared out of nowhere, still drenched in water, and charged at me. "See! He's gone loco!" I cried.

Clint suddenly stops in front of Fury, "Director Fury," He says calmly. Fury turned back to me, "Oh yes, Barton's gone crazy." He says sarcastically walking away. "NO! DON'T GO!" I scream as he leaves.

Clint smirks evilly before pinning me to the wall. I close my eyes, waiting for the pain. It never came, when I opened my eyes Clint was gone. The only thing left was the arrow, pinning me to the wall. I sighed in relief. I pulled the arrow out of the wall and inspected it, on the arrow was the name 'Hawkeye'.

I grumbled and walked back to my room. There was a note on my desk.

 Hey Fish-head,

We're leaving to go home in half an hour, so get your butt to the Bird.

Love you,

Sierra

I sighed and pack everything in a duffel bag, including the monster dust I have been experimenting on and walked down the corridors to Sierra's plane. The Bird was a nickname Clint came up with when Sierra first got the plane, the nickname stuck ever since.

I went outside, Sierra's plane was up and running. The engines were fired up and roaring. Natasha was waiting at the Car entrance. Two cars were parked inside. Both were SHIELD cars.

Natasha seemed to smirk before walking into the plane. As soon as I was in the plane, the door shut. I walked up to the cock-pit, where Sierra was arguing with on the com with the SHIELD air tower.

"Look, I don't care it's not on the list, you.........Excuse me!........Oh, shove it.............I need to leave now and..........Do you want me to turn you into a goldfish!..........Thank you."

"Hey, what was that about?" I asked.

"Ugh, just some SHIELD newbie being a complete idiot. Couldn't read the damn paper."

I chuckled. "So are we clear for take-off?"

Sierra gave me a look meaning 'really'.

I sat down in the free seat next to her and waited for the Bird to take off. When Sierra was finally cleared for take-off, she wasted no time leaving. "God damn agents." She muttered.

As we took off, I heard Sierra com go off. "Sorry about the issue Agent Campbell, have a safe trip."

Sierra huffed and turned off her com. Once we were high enough, Sierra set the plane to autopilot. She leaned back in her chair and smirked, "What was that scene you have with Clint?"

I almost choked, "You know about that!" Sierra raised an eyebrow and nodded. "I filmed it." "You did not!" I cried.

"You luckily I haven't sent it to anyone." Sierra replied sweetly. "Oh, I love you, thank you, thank you, thank you." I cried. "You're welcome, but you owe me." Sierra said. I nodded. "Otherwise, everyone in SHIELD will get this video, and the Avengers."

I place a hand against my chest in mock horror, "You wouldn't!?" Sierra gave me an evil stare. I shuttered. Sierra smiled, then her face grew serious.

"You know what tomorrow is right?" Sierra said softly. I nodded. Tomorrow will be one year since I was betrayed, 1 and half years since my mom was killed and 1 year since I reunited with Sierra and joined SHIELD.

"Yes, the best and worst day of my life." I replied half happy, half sad. Sierra half smiled. "I got the day off to spend it with you." "Thank you." I said softly. She smiled and kissed me on the cheek. "You're welcome." My cheeks blushed.

I heard Clint said "Awwwww." Sierra and I turned to glare at him. I forgot he would be on the plane. Clint's eyes widen before sprinting off. Sierra shook her head. "Beat him up for me." She requested. I smirked evilly, payback time, "With pleasure."

I gave her a quick kiss on the cheek before sprinting off, screeching, "CLINT!!!!!!!!!"
