Chapter 11~ Baby Stories and Malfoy

"That's great!" Hermione exclaimed, after she and Ron were told of Sirius being free.

"By tomorrow it will be in the Daily Prophet and I will be able to show my face in public again." said Sirius happily.

"That's cool. How many people do you think will apologize for believing you're guilty?" asked Ron, trying to come up with a conversation topic.

"I don't know but I do know one person who definitely won't be happy about this." said Sirius.

"Who?" asked Hermione, but Harry already knew the answer to that.

"Snape." said Sirius and Remus in unison.

"Why?" asked Ron.

"When we were in school," started Remus "lets just say James, Sirius, Petigrew, and I weren't the best of friends with Snape."

They all laughed. Hermione was in conversation with Sirius for about thirty minutes, which worried Harry. What could Sirius possibly be talking to her about? Not the fact that he had a crush on Hermione, because even if Harry didn't tell Sirius about that, he definitely knew. He surely wasn't talking to her about that, was he? For Godric's sake, what if he is? That's just the kind of person he is.

Harry decided to join their conversation. Just to be safe.

"Hey. What are you guys talking about?" asked Harry, perhaps a little too anxiously.

"Sirius was just telling me about how silly you were as a child." said Hermione, laughing.

Oh dear.

"Yes I was just about to tell her about the time you fell in a mud puddle when you were five." Sirius chuckled. Hermione laughed at this comment.

"You had just seen a bug on the floor of the cave and followed it. The only problem was, you hadn't seen the mud puddle on the floor-" said Sirius, but Harry cut him off.

"Ok that's enough." Harry urged.

"Oh, come on, Harry." Hermione pleaded "It's funny."

"It's embarrassing and most likely made up." said Harry, looking at his godfather pointedly.

"Harry, you don't have to be embarrassed. Would it make you feel better if I told you when I was a baby I tried playing football for the first time and I fell in a mud puddle." said Hermione, laughing at herself.

"I guess." said Harry, laughing as well.

For another thirty minutes, Hermione and Harry talked, Sirius chiming in every now and then and raising his eyebrows at Harry every other minute to make him feel uncomfortable.

"It's getting late." said Remus after a few hours, looking at his watch. "You three had better be off to bed."

"Fine."

"Ok."

"See you, Padfoot."

Harry hugged Sirius and the three of them went on their way to Gryffindor Tower.

"Piro!"

Harry, Ron, and Hermione whipped around to find Malfoy walking towards them with his goons Crabbe and Goyle at his sides.

"What do you want, Malfoy?" said Hermione through gritted teeth, taking a few steps in front of Harry, protectively.

"I was just wondering why I was the only person in this school who's not an idiot." said Malfoy.

"What are you talking about?" asked Hermione, her temper rising.

"Where have you three been all day?" asked Malfoy. It was now Harry's turn to get angry.

"That's non of your business, Malfoy." said Harry, moving around Hermione so that he was standing in front of her a little to her right.

"Hoo hoo hoo. Getting a little angry, are we, Piro? What are you hiding?" asked Malfoy, taunting them.

"You'll find out tomorrow." said Harry, calmly. He turned around and walked away from Malfoy, Ron and Hermione following him.

"Don't walk away from me!" ordered Malfoy. Harry stopped dead in his tracks, making Hermione bump into him. "No one walks away from a Malfoy. Malfoys walk away from people."

"You know what, Malfoy?" said Harry, getting really angry "You're pathetic. You think the world revolves around you. You and your pathetic excuse for a 'family'. Your father tells you and your mother what to do and you do nothing about it. You just let him boss you around and control you. I may not have parents, I may have grown up in a cave, but if I were you, I probably would've chosen that life anyway." Harry tried to walk away again but Malfoy wouldn't stop.

"Since when are both your parents dead?" said Malfoy. "And you don't live in a cave."

"You'll find out tomorrow." said Harry. He, Ron, and Hermione walked away before Malfoy could get another word out.

"Well that was dramatic." said Ron. Harry and Hermione laughed and they arrived in the Gryffindor common room.

"Alright, guys. I'm kind of tired. I'm off to bed." said Hermione. Harry checked his watch.

"But it's only 9:30." Harry protested.

"Like I said, I'm tired." said Hermione.

"Fine, I guess I'll go to bed too." said Harry.

"Me too." said Ron.

"You two will do no such thing. Not until you finish your Transfiguration essays." said Hermione. Harry and Ron groaned. "I'm sorry but you'll get detention." Hermione added, and she walked up the spiral staircase, leading towards the girls' dormitory.

Harry and Ron got out their homework, knowing Hermione would know if they tried to go to sleep, so they got started on their homework.
