Chapter 7- Naboo!

"Ready?" Padme asked with a joyful smile.

"Always." Anakin responded as you all started walking towards the door. You walking in a comfortable silence until you got outside.

"So how'd it go in there?" You asked, a little confused about what they even did.

"Good, mostly like every other meeting. But it was nice to be in person. We just discussed a bit about every topic that needed addressing. We will have a more in depth meeting soon." She explained this while walking towards a carriage.

Carriages were common on Naboo, no one wanted the beautiful scenery to be destroyed by speeders or other forms of transport. It was a square-ish shape with a man sitting in the front. There were two horse-like creatures who moved it in the right direction but the weight was on the thrusters that made it hover.

Everyone hopped in and Padme let the driver know you were ready. You would be at the house in no time. There you would meet Padmes family, her happy full family.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Once you had arrived at the door there was two little girls playing there. They smiled and ran towards Padme giggling. The girl in the orange dress hugged her while the girl in the blue dress got distracted by R2. After the hug the girls played with him jumping around while he made noises that didn't mean anything. Padme signaled for you to follow her as she walked inside, so you did. You weren't fully inside when you heard a scream and a laugh and then a sound of impact. You sped over a bit, but it was another woman hugging Padme.
She was taller, with dark brown hair and strong features. You could see some resemblance between the two. When she pulled away, still holding onto Padme, she smiled at her and twisted a piece of her hair.
"I'm so glad to see you!" The woman exclaimed as you and Anakin stood to the side observing. The two of you didn't know what it was like to have such a close relationship with someone because they were family. Anakin had his mom but hadn't seen her since he was seven, so they weren't that close. You, on the other hand, had no one.
"Oh, y/n! Anakin! This is my sister Sola!" Padme had now turned around and was holding her hands out to her sister, who gave a little wave.
"Hi!" You both smiled, Anakin waved.
"It's so nice to meet you guys! I've heard a lot about you." At this you were confused, you had only known Padme for two days. But you could guess that they talked a lot since Padme was off-planet. You just smiled.
Sola walked towards you and took your arm, then started to walk away. You were a bit shocked at the sudden movement of being pulled away. Anakin stepped to follow you but Padme blocked him. Padme was his mission, he should stay with her.
"So," She whispered, "How's things with you and Anakin?" She was smiling a huge smile at you while leaning down a bit to be at your ear.
"What? Ummm. We're good, I guess."
"Oh come on! I already know your dating!" She exclaimed louder than originally.
"What?! Oh no, we're just friends. Good friends, that's all." You're face felt hot, and you were trying to get out of this situation.
"Interesting." Is all she said before walking in front of you, back to the group where the girls were playing with Anakin. He was sat on the floor with the girl in blue behind him, playing with his braid, and the girl in orange asking him questions.
"So you have a cool light sword?" The little girl asked, to which Anakin nodded.
"But your not supposed to use it unless you have too?" She seemed t know a decent amount about jedi even in her young age. But you guess that's what you get when you aunt used to be the queen. At least your assuming these are Solas' kids.
"Yeah, its not the jedi way to fight when you don't have to." He responded after the girl in orange continued to glare at him. He looked a bit scared of her, it was funny to see him so intimidated by a girl half his age. You weren't entirely sure how you didn't run into anybody last night or this morning but Padme had reasons. Weird reasons, but excuses in the least.
"Huh, oki!" She shrugged and skipped of to her aunt while the girl in blue followed a bit behind. The girl in blue was shorter and smaller, her hair was in a braid around her head and it was light brown. The girl in orange had her hair down and it was darker, she looked a lot like Sola. While the girl in blue looked like a mixture of Sola and Padme.
Anakin stood up and walked over to you, you now noticed that Sola had walked off holding the girl in blue. He still looked a bit shocked at what just happened, you never imagined him to be a 'kid guy'. You chuckled as he got closer to you.
"What?" He asked with an actually confused expression.
"You!" You continued to chuckle but it was turning more into a straight-out laugh.
"What?" He questioned, still utterly confused.
"Your scared of a little girl half you size." You explained with your laugh still audible in your words.
"I'm not scared of her! She just has better negotiation skills than me!" He had started to laugh with you and you realized you were both incredibly close.
"What'd she negotiate you into?" You knew how kids could be scary and all but the girl was super cute and it was hard to imagine her as intimidating.
"Nothing, but she was trying!" He had ahold of your arms that were out in front of you. You had been laughing together for a while now, and he was holding onto you with his face only a foot away from yours. You tossed you head forward while laughing and it was laying on his chest. Your eyes were screwed shut with laughter and the unimaginable joy you had while making fun of Anakin.
Both your laughter's died down and you brought your head back up. He was inching his face closer to yours even though they were already close. Then he took a step forward almost closing the gap between you. Your smile stayed, shining on your face, and he smirked at you. His smile, oh his smile. His smirks and smiles gave you crazy feelings that you couldn't control. You had bottled up all of your feelings for him and-
Step. Step. Step.
Then you heard the steps walk into the room and both your and Anakin's heads turned. You pushed away from him and stood there staring at Padme. You felt your face grow hot, hotter than it had ever been. She was going to report you to the council or something, but there was nothing to report was there? Anakin was smiling at Padme like he had done nothing wrong.
"Where'd you go, Padme?" He asked as she glanced between the two of you with a growing smirk. By the time she answered it was a full smile.
"To get a glass of water." She moved her hand that had a textured glass in it. You hadn't even realized it because you were so focused on her reaction.
"What were you two up to?" She interrogated, walking closer. Anakin glanced at you will a cheeky smirk and you realized he was going to make you answer.
"Oh, umm. Nothing." You coughed out choppily. You were still breathing hard and she just gave a  even bigger smile at you.
"I want you guys to meet my parents. They are out I the backyard right now." She explained before turning on her heel and leaving the way she came in.
You followed and walked past a living room with sandy couches. Then a kitchen with marbled counters and everyday appliances. Then you came to two glass doors that were opened out into a back patio area. You could see the girls playing in the yard with presumably Padmes dad. As well as Sola and most likely Padmes mom sitting on chairs.
Padme walked towards her sister and mother looking back at you and Anakin every once in a while.
"As I promised, mother, here are the jedi in charge of my safety!" She turned and opened her arms to both of you. You gave a little wave and smile, still being a bit embarrassed, but you'd get him back for that. Anakin on the other hand walked fore ward and took Mrs. Naberrie's hand to kiss it while bowing. She looked a little surprised at first but then she adjusted. You looked away and realized Padme was looking at you. You looked back with creased eyebrows but she just smirked and looked away.
"Pleasure to meet you." Anakin said softly after a moment.
"Pleasures all mine." She responded like the mother of a queen. Mr. Naberrie was walking up toward everyone, holding the little girls hands.
"Ah. The jedi. I was wondering when I might meet you." He exclaimed in a booming voice while walking towards you. The girls ran off back toward the yard and were rolling around. You were smiling, hoping to make a good first impression, since you didn't exactly knew where the rest of the family stood with jedi.
There's nothing to be nervous about. You're doing great.
Your head drifted towards Anakin but he was looking forward smiling. So you copied him, you guess if he thinks your doing fine then you must be. At least your hoping you don't come off as to weird or to whatever to the family.
You're not. You're coming off as a nice person.
You glanced over again and this time he was smiling at you. So you smiled back.
Thanks.
Padmes dad was almost in front of you and Anakin now. You decided to focus on the mission, it was for the better.  He walked up in front of Anakin and shook his hand.
"Pleasure." Is all he said while inspecting Anakin. Anakin was still wearing a light tan poncho with darker pants, so it was a but different than normal attire. You were wearing a white poncho with a hood and sandy pants as well as tan knee high boots.
Mr. Nabrerrie started to walk towards you after looking satisfied with Anakin. He gave you a tight lipped smile and shook your hand. His hands were rough and he had a firm grip, but so did you. His eyebrows raised a bit before going back to his regular expression.
"Nice to meet you." He greeted a bit kinder than with Anakin, then he gave you an approving nod and walked away to play with the girls.
You took a deep breath and after you exhaled you looked over to Anakin. He was giving you a smirk, but not the one from earlier. More of a grin/smirk.
What?
Nothing, he just likes you more than me.
Anakin was still smiling at you and you had started to smile back.
Maybe I'm just more likable.
Oh, that could never happen.
You could hear the laughter in his thoughts after you messed with him.
Well, I guess we'll adjust have to find out.
With that you turned away and decided that now you were actually going to focus on the mission. Not Anakin's silly game, or Padmes interesting smirks. The mission.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Padme had decided it was time to go, so you and Anakin left her to say goodbye. The both of you gave formal goodbyes but it was Padmes family so you were waiting outside. Anakin stood on the left side of the carriage and you on the right.

"We're going to the lake country, right?" You asked as you turned towards him with your hands behind your back. He was standing similarly but he was much taller so it threw off the matching look.

"Yeah, I think so." He responded still watching the front door. You turned back towards it to match him. This is what you wanted, no games. By why was he doing it, you didn't tell him.

Crunch. Snap.

You flung your head around the carriage. Nothing. You looked back at Anakin who was now staring at you, confused.

"What was it?"

"Stay here."

You walked around the edge of the transportation, slowly with your hand on your hip. You had pulled up your poncho so you could hold onto your lightsaber. Anakin had called you name once but stopped when he saw you creeping into the forest.

There was a large group of trees across from the front door. It was beautiful, like everything on Naboo. But it had an eerie feel right now. You snuck into the forest, glancing every direction. Every once in a while you would see a bird fly away, or walk across a branch.When you didn't see anything larger, you decided to let down your mind barriers within the force.

 The noises started, the ones that used to drive you mad. You could hear Anakin's thoughts, Padme and her family's words, the breathing of every creature around, the words of Obi-Wan. He was talking about going somewhere with the jedi council. The clash of your masters lightsaber against something, she wasn't in danger, you would feel if she was. You always seemed to hear people you were close to, they were louder than the others. The screams, the silence that followed.

You heard one noise closer than all the others, steps. The steps of an animal. The steps of a Vorpak, a baby vorpak, maybe. You weren't exactly sure how to use all the noises you heard. Or how to truly pinpoint them, or how to tell exactly what it was. You crept towards where you could feel a presence, and that's when you saw it.

A small little fluff ball playing around a tree. It trotted round and round until it stopped suddenly. It's eyes found their way to you. The baby slowly stepped toward you moving its entire body with its little four-legged hops.

"Y/n!" Anakin called your name and your head snapped in that direction. So did the vorpaks, it glanced and then it ran. You jogged towards the edge of the forest, not realizing how deep you were. Anakin was standing there staring at you with a confused look.

"What was it?"

"Just a vorpak." You had never seen one in person, since you had never been to Naboo. But it was adorable.

"Oh. Ok. Wait what?"

"A vorpak. Little fluff balls with four legs." You tried to spark a memory but weren't surprised he didn't know. You only remembered because you had read about them in the garden a little before you had learned about the jedi code.

Anakin and you walked back towards the carriage Padme was waiting inside. You were looking at the carriage but Anakin was smiling at you. He was very obvious about it and you had realized when you looked towards the house. You climbed up into the carriage and Anakin was right behind you. Padme smiled one of her weird smirks before letting the driver know you were ready.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The carriage dropped you off at a dock with small boats. There was a little hut and a few little yellow boats, big enough for four people. Anakin, you, Padme and Padmes entire wardrobe. Everyone stepped out of the carriage, Anakin first and you last, then you walked towards a boat that was waiting for you.
There was a man in a black mask standing inside the boat, securing the ropes. He saw all of you and stepped out guiding a hand towards the boat. Anakin hopped in first, giving a hand to Padme. You hopped in and Anakin turned around.
I would've helped you too, you know.
He gave you a slightly annoyed expression.
I know.
You just smiled at him and sat down by Padme. The man undid the ropes and set the motor up in the back. You're assuming that its like the technology on Spira, that guided you to your destination then stopped. If so, it would be a smooth ride.
"How have the two of you liked your stay so far?" Padme asked, gazing with raised eyebrows.
"It's been nice, your home is beautiful." You knew this was a nice thing to say even though all you could think of was last night. Anakin layed in almost the center of the bed until you made him scoot over. You both stayed on your sides the entire time, but you were struggling. All you wanted was to roll over and lay on top of him, but you couldn't.
"Yeah, there's a lot that is beautiful here." Anakin said before looking out the side to the water. Padme smiled and gave a small laugh, to what, you'll never know. After a bit of silence, Padme turned back from the water. You all had been staring at it, the water was a clear, crystal blue.
"Sorry that my family thought you two were together. They don't know much about the jedi." You knew the second part was a lie, but you let it slide. Obviously, Anakin didn't know they thought that since his eyes grew wide within the first sentence.
"Oh, its alright. Everyone is entitled to their own mistakes."
Padme squinted but nodded and then she turned back around.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

In only a couple minutes, you had made it to an island where the boat stopped. There was a large house at the middle with trees on the other side. You could see mountains on islands around the one you were on. Everything was gorgeous, from the house to the sand to the trees. Padme stepped off first hiking up her dress, then you, then Anakin. Anakin had two bags and Padme had one small one, which she refused to let you carry. Padme walked around the edge of the beach before finding a small set of stairs that went to the house. She smiled back at the both of you, you smiled back. Anakin was to busy staring at the sand getting on his boots.

You followed after Padme, climbing up the stairs and found yourselves at a patio. The deck was some type of wood and there was railing around that matched.

"You two can stay out here for a minute if you'd like." She took her small bag inside and walked until you couldnt see her. Thats when you turned around and rested your arms on the rails. You watched the waves crash on the shore, darkening the sand. Anakin walked over still staring at his boots.

"Not enjoying the sand, Ani?" You mocked.

"No, and don't call me that. I'm not a child." He groaned back, you knew he didn't like that name. That's why you used it so often.

"What should I call you then? Ann? Sky runner? Sky jogger? Sky guy? Sky dude?"

"You really like my last name." He smirked, shrugging off your teasing.

"Well, there is so much you can do with it. Cloud walker. High walker."

He just chuckled at you and looked away. You were hoping this would be a fun mission. And maybe it would be. But you afraid something would happen between you and Anakin. Something always seemed to happen. You didn't want to be off the mission either, so you would just have to deal.
