Chapter Thirty-One

—First Person POV.—

I panted, plopping down onto the grass.

Bakugo was yelling at me to keep trying to teleport while Kiri just plopped down next to me.

"Give her a break Bakugo! It's getting a lot hotter lately!" He hollered at the screaming barbarian which caused him to yell something incoherent before going silent.

We both sat there in silence while I caught my breath, I sat up and picked at one of the flowers on the ground.

"Hey Kiri?" The red head perked up towards his name "Do you know where I should travel first? Any recommendations?" He shrugged, bringing his hand to his chin and looking up at the sky in thought before he snapped his fingers.

"Oh! You should check out Baltinon hill!" He beamed "The flowers should be blooming right about now, it's perfect for a picnic and an afternoon nap!"

"Really?" I replied, my smile coming back to my face at the thought of being surrounded by flowers.

As we talked about the hill, I tilted my head when Kiri's eyebrows suddenly furrowed and he stood up.

He was staring at something behind me and in curiosity, I turned around to see it as well.

Something was flying towards us— A gust of wind flew at us and Kirishima moved in front of me, hugging me with his wings to protect me from flying objects.

The ground rumbled as the creature landed and I poked my head out from behind Kiri.

It was a pink dragon, it's body was slimmer and less bulky than Kirishima's form, probably meaning it was faster compared to him but they still rivaled in size and height.

It bowed its head down, two figures hopping off the neck and Bakugo walked up to them.

Kirishima had let go of me and followed Bakugo to investigate what was going on.

I just followed out of curiosity.

Bakugo was arguing with the two people that had hopped off the dragon, who stood tall, it's head turning to Kiri and I as we approached.

Black filled the sclera with a yellow iris to accompany it and upon seeing us, smoke filled the air before a familiar girl with pink skin came running out of it.

She ran at us and gave Kirishima a hug, which he happily returned "Ashido!" He greeted as they separated.

Bakugo called Kirishima over and I simply followed— Once again, completely out of curiosity.

Mina followed as well, sending a happy wave in my direction "So, You're part of the barbarian tribe?" I questioned in slight shock while she sheepishly nodded.

"Yep! Todoroki knew how much I like to dance from when we all traveled together to defeat— Anyways! He called me up and once I was done training you, I returned home!" She excitedly explained.

I nodded "I didn't expect that, you were dressed a little differently back then." I commented and she let out a light chuckle "Yeah, had to wear something else to not make the other maids uncomfortable y'know?" She deflated.

I nodded in agreement, the two of us talking and catching up a bit before turning to the group standing a few feet away from us.

"What happened to those too?" I questioned, pointing towards the two strangers who looked traumatized with their messy hair.

"I'm never riding on Mina again." The blonde with a black streak running through his hair stated while the other one did nothing but nod along in agreement.

Bakugo rolled his eyes and turned to Kirishima "We need to go." He huffed "What's wrong?" I cut in while the blonde just brushed me off and sent a look to Kirishima.

The dragon shifter blinked before sighing and turning to me "Something came up, we probably won't be here for a while." Kiri briefly explained.

"Sorry." He apologized and a toothy grin of reassurance came to his face "Don't forget the flowers in Baltinon!" He reminded before backing away from the group and shifting.

The wind pushed me back a bit but Mina grabbed my shoulders to keep me from falling over.

When Kiri was done, he leaned down and allowed Bakugo onto the back of his neck.

The other two strangers tried to follow but Bakugo shook his head, yelling "Go get your own dragon!" Before Kiri took off into the sky.

The pink skinned female patted my shoulder "Sorry we have to leave in such a rush, it was nice seeing you again!" She beamed.

"It was nice seeing you too, Mina!" I replied as she called to the other two and runs off, smoke blowing as she shifted back into her pink dragon.

The two groaned, the blonde letting out a dramatic cry as they sluggishly walked over to the waiting dragon "Acid dragons are so terrifying to ride!"

The pink dragon let out a roar towards the two, a bluish saliva falling from her mouth and onto the ground.

They climbed on to the back of her neck before she took off into the sky, her slim figure easily catching up with Kirishima's red one.

I watched as they effortlessly flew over the wall and disappeared beyond the clouds, my eyes catching on to the melting grass left behind from that pink dragons saliva.

So she's a dragon shifter— That explains why Mina looked to much different from everyone else.

...

I think I'm gonna go take a nap.

—Third Person POV.—

The glasses made little clinking sounds as Todoroki placed them in a box.

'Thirty days from now..' He thought to himself as he placed the last glass of pills in and closed the box.

—First Person POV.—

We are walking side by side, a maid asked me to take some important mail to Todoroki and I did so.

'But why does my heart race at such small things..?' I internally questioned as we walked, I had never really thought about how handsome he was until now.

I paused, my face flushing as a thought crossed my mind 'I don't like him, right..?'

"What's wrong?" He turned to look at me and I hadn't realized I stopped walking "You're all red." He comments, reaching to touch my forehead "It's nothing!" I stutter out.

He stares at me for a second before brushing it off as we walk into a room and sit down.

He opens the package and hands its contents to me causing me to give him a look of confusion "I ordered it for you." He states, handing me the book.

Inside was hundreds of beautiful gowns and I give him a questioning glance "Why?"

"I figured you should start getting summer clothes." He explains and now I'm looking over the many options. He leans near me to point and look at the dresses as well, our faces are close and my cheeks are heating up.

"You'll be putting your hair up often once it gets hot, so I think this would look good on you." He points to another dress "You should get a fan, you'll need gloves to wear outside as well—" He continues on as he turns to face me, our faces are now mere inches apart.

We're both sitting in silence, just staring at each other so I turn away and point at one of the dresses "How much is this one?" I say to clear the air.

"Probably like, two pieces of gold?" He answers "Two pieces of gold??" I gawk as he sits back in his seat.

"Are you pulling my leg?" I question and he crosses his arms "Do I look like someone who'd joke around?" He says.

"You did not just say that— You joke around all the time!" I accuse and he scoffs, turning away "Just write down the numbers of the dresses you want and I'll get them." He commands and as I turn to look at the options again, someone knocks on the door.

"Dinner is ready."

"Let's go." Todoroki tells me and I follow him out the door.

Once we get to the same room with the dinner table inside. We go through the same routine of him pushing in my chair for me and before I know it, we are eating another meal again.

The room is silent when I speak up "How long will it be until the dresses come in?" Todoroki signals for a waiter to come over and he holds his cup up to be refilled.

"Are you in a rush?" He asks and I tilt my head in confusion "Huh?"

"Is there someone you need to dress to meet?" He questions "No?" I answer and the room chills "Then why are you rushing?"

I deadpan towards the sudden chill in the air, finishing my plate and speaking "I want to go to Baltinon hill, and I thought it'd be nice to wear my new dress, Kiri said it's really beautiful up there right now."

One of the waiters place a tray of cookies in front of me 'Yay dessert!' I internally fist bump the air.

I'm mentally celebrating until I notice a small glass bottle on the plate "What is this?"

"It's medicine, it'll give you energy and help with circulation. It'll make you skin nicer, too." Todoroki briefly answered while I open the bottle and pour the pills into my hand.

They're three small black pills shaped into little balls "I made it so you don't have to worry about poison."

'Really? In that case!' I pop the pills in to my mouth and swallow, my face scrunching up at the gross after taste.

'I'll wash it down with these cookies.' I tell myself, quickly taking a bite out of the chocolate dessert.

"Baltinon." I hear him clear his throat, I pause my chewing to glance up at Todoroki, who is avoiding eye contact with an angsty look on his face.

I watch him as I finish another cookie 'Should I ask him to go with me?' I question, setting the last half eaten cookie down.

"If you don't mind—" "If you don't mind.." We both pause, having started speaking at the same time, I chuckle and Todoroki gestures for me to go first.

"Would you go with me?" I ask "I heard the flowers are pretty up there, let's go together, I want to go with you." I quickly say and he nods, turning away.

"Fine, I'll go with you." He says with a sigh, yet he doesn't seem too happy "..You don't have to go if you don't want to.." My voice softens towards the end.

"It's not that I don't want to." Todoroki states, my eyes flickering up to meet his own "It's just that I was going to ask you first."

His words sink in and my face bursts into an array of crimson colors "So— Uhm.." I start to stutter.

The room warms as Todoroki clears his throat and looks away with a faint blush on his cheeks "I— I see?" I stuff another cookie into my mouth.

It feels like my heart's doing backflips.
