Ship: Shattered Dream x Passive Nightmare

‘Shattered had been with Nightmare the whole day, just to spend some time with him but today was different. He had been more affectionate with Nightmare and had been showering Nightmare with all the affection he had in his gooey self. Nightmare was not taking this so well so Shattered calmed him down.’

3rd POV

Nightmare was sitting next to a tree, reading his book peacefully. He enjoyed being alone, having the fresh wind blow softly on his bones and on his face in the quiet just hearing the soft winds. He flipped the page and he scrolled his eyes right to left reading each and every word. As he was reading he heard a portal open next to him. He turned to look at the person who just came out and to his dismay it was Shattered. 

He groaned as he closed his book. “Aw come on, I barely spent a second with you and you’re hating it already?~” Nightmare rolled his eyes. “Yes, I was perfectly fine being here ALONE.” He said as he laid his chin on his hand. “But being alone is boringgg, plus it’s always better hanging out with you.” Shattered pouted as he sat next to Nightmare, laying his chin on Nightmare’s shoulder. 

Nightmare blushed a little as he looked to the side. They sat like this for a little while until Nightmare cleared his throat. “So why did you come here anyways?” Nightmare asked. Shattered wrapped his arms around Nightmare. “Well I just wanted to take a little visit to you, Nighty~” Shattered cooed as Nightmare blushed more. 

“Will you just stop?” Nightmare pushed Shattered’s face away from his shoulder. “Stop what? I’m barely even doin’ anything but show you affection.” Shattered used one of his tentacles to get Nightmare’s hand out of his face. Shattered then snuggled his face on Nightmare which made Nightmare blush even more. “You’re getting your goo all over me, it’s disgusting.” Shattered just purred. 

“Oh it’s not like you haven’t been gooey before.” Shattered said as he wrapped his tentacles around Nightmare. Then he started giving little kisses on Nightmare’s neck to his cheek. Nightmare blushed a darker shade of purple with embarrassment. He couldn’t push Shattered again cause his arms were squished on his chest because of Shattered’s tentacle hug. “S-Shattered stop it.” Nightmare whined as he wiggled in the hug. 

Shattered giggled. “I don’t want to~ I love giving love to my little Nightmare.” Shattered protested. Shattered kept giving soft sweet kisses all over Nightmare’s face. Nightmare gave in and couldn’t help but smile. “And there’s the sweet smile I was looking for!” Shattered smiled as he nuzzled the bridge of his nose on Nightmare’s. 

Nightmare pouted as he looked down, flusteredly. This only made Shattered smile more as he gave a kiss on Nightmare’s forehead. He cuddled into Nightmare as he pulled Nightmare’s head to lay on his chest. Nightmare’s whole face was filled with blush. Shattered started petting Nightmare’s head, calmingly. 

From all the years of Nightmare being ignored or tried terribly this was new to him. He felt protected and warm on the inside. He was so new to this feeling that it was overwhelming for him. He didn’t know how to react to it but he was enjoying it. He was just so confused in his own feelings at the moment. 

Shattered could feel this in Nightmare. He snuggled Nightmare more, as he landed more soft kissing on the top of his head. Nightmare felt less tense as he slowly started to calm down to the feeling. As Nightmare started to calm down, he nuzzled onto Shattered’s chest, feeling the heat it gave out. Shattered smiled softly at this as he gave back some affection by laying his own head on Nightmare’s. 

The whole time it was silent but it was a calming silence. Just like when Nightmare was reading his book he heard the faint winds blowing through the air. But this time he could also hear a soft heart beating from Shattered soul. Hearing and feeling the hot breath coming out of Shattered. He liked this feeling he felt, he liked the calming silence with his other, he liked feeling safe in someone’s arms. 

But Nightmare was also curious about something. Without looking up, Nightmare asked, “Shattered...why are you doing this..?” Shattered looked down at the little skeleton he was cuddling on. “Well so I can show you the affection I have for you.” Shattered answered with a kiss on Nightmare’s forehead. 

Nightmare closed his eyes. ‘Is this how it feels to have someone that loves you..?’ Nightmare questioned to himself. ‘If so, I want him to love me forever.’ With that the rest of the day was the two cuddling with each other. Enjoying each other's company and the sweet and calming silence they had. It was much better than reading a book in silence.
