Chapter 24

"Are you alright? You almost died so..." The girl trailed off, hugging herself. "I almost died?" You repeated to yourself.

Wow, you almost died. How unfortunate or fortunate for you to end up surviving.

"Where am I and who are you?" You asked, your body aching as you shifted slightly in your sitting position on the soft bed. "I'm Principe, my younger brother Sao Tome is currently outside. And you're in our country, Sao Tome and Principe," She answered, her voice breathy. "Oh," You murmured, "Are you alright? You don't look okay."
"I'm fine, no worries, you're the one who should be checked up on," She said defensively, raising her hands.

The door opened and a very familiar guy walked in. It was Comoros, behind him was another guy, who had the same flag that was on Principe's face, that was Sao Tome, wasn't it?
"Oh my goodness, Y/N! You really do be scaring the shit out of people sometimes!" Exclaimed Comoros, who looked like he'd been crying.
He rushed over to you and side-hugged you, "If you died, I think I'd be so upset that my balls would fall off."

"Excuse me, what?" You spoke, weirded out by what he had just said.
"Don't ask." He stated, releasing you of his side-hug. Just then, you realized aside from Sao Tome, Principe and Comoros, there was someone else in the room too.
She must've noticed that you were looking at her. Heat rose up to her cheeks and she quickly glanced away. She must be shy, huh?

"This is Seychelles," Comoros introduced the girl, pushing her towards you. "S-Stop pushing me!" Seychelles squeaked, but the Comorian didn't fulfill her request. "You're not usually like this with others, c'mon, it's fine, Seychelles!" Principe attempted to cheer her up, but failed.

(NGL the picture above really shows this part perfectly LIKE four CH and then there's Y/N on the bed HAHAH)

"U-Uh, I'm Seychelles, yeah, Comoros already said that!" She stuttered, "It's great to finally see you, Y/N! We first chatted during that one call, remember?"
You nodded, answering her question. She smiled softly, feeling a little more comfortable in your presence.
"I think that since the introduction's done... We could maybe talk about how this mortal got here in the first place." Sao Tome suggested.

The four of them all looked at you.
"Do you remember what happened before all this?" Asked Principe. You tried to remember what happened, but it was kind of a blur.
Overall, you remembered some sort of guy with four wings...? Who was that?

"If I remember correctly, there was this guy who had like four wings? I'm not really sure," You told them. Comoros said, "The only guy we know who fits that description would be Papua New Guinea. He's the only one who has that amount of wings."
Seychelles nodded, "All the others that have wings only have two."

Papua New Guinea.
Now that you think about it, some dots seem to connect.

.

You turned around only to see Australia right in front of you. You backed up a little and he tilted his head to the side slightly.
"You're really starting to get on my nerves, luv," He said coldly. Mayhem hissed at you, making you back up even more as he took a few steps closer to you.

"Y/N, Y/N?!" You could hear Slovakia repeat your name from your phone.

Mayhem hissed again when it heard Slovakia's voice coming from your phone. "End the call." The Australian instructed, cornering you.
"Y/N, someone's coming to get you, alright? You hear me?" Slovakia's voice from your phone again. Australia eyed the device, but at that very moment everything stopped.
You blinked repeatedly, confused. He and Mayhem both had stopped moving, and you couldn't hear Slovakia from your phone anymore.

It's as if time had stopped. But you were still moving, how odd. Darn, are you special or something? To be fair, it made no sense, you weren't able to stop time or anything, this meant someone else did it, didn't it?

"I can tell you're confused, but do not worry," A voice spoke up, you looked right next to you, startled to see someone standing right beside you. Someone you'd never seen before, but he DID have a flag on his face.
The Papua New Guinea flag, if you remembered correctly. Yes, it was Papua New Guinea.

He turned around, "Follow me, we need to get out of here ASAP, time can't be paused forever." You followed him as he started walking, and the entire room changed within a few steps.
Gosh, this shit was fucking confusing.
Imagine if your parents were never friends with any of the Countryhumans in the first place, you wouldn't be in this situation then. Would they still have gone missing? Then again, you didn't know the reason for their disappearance.

The whole place looked funny, sorry but it's the truth.
"I can't believe that we're helping a simple mortal." Another new voice, this one sounded rough. You looked to where the voice came from and saw someone you'd never thought you'd ever meet.

And WHO was it?
Motherfucking NORTH Korea.

"A simple mortal isn't really an accurate way of describing this fellow," Papua New Guinea told the North Korean as he looked down at him. Papua New Guinea was kind of taller compared to the other male.
He continued, "A better way would be to say a not-so-regular mortal." "That's too long." North Korea scoffed as his eyes darted over to you.

"This whole thing is a waste of time. I NEED to find my brother," The North Korean spoke, his forehead furrowing. Papua New Guinea sighed, "Time is still paused, not much time is being wasted. After all, we have to follow UN's orders."

Holy shit... UN, as in THE United Nations?? And they said they had to follow UN's orders. Wait, so he knows you exist? Holy moly guacamole, well, it seems you became a celebrity, in a bad way.

"So now we just get this human somewhere safe, huh?" Said North Korea, taking a step towards you. Being around him made you feel more uncomfortable than uncomfortable, like uncomfortable x2, or maybe even x10.
"Which place would you recommend?" The Papuan questioned.
You felt like you were just there as decoration, neither of them were talking to you. Awkward.

North Korea narrowed his eyes, deep in thought.
"From my knowledge, there's an African Union meeting today, minus Miss African Union. I think we could entrust Y/N with one of them." He answered, "The ones that have spoken with Y/N before are Comoros and Seychelles."

"How do you know that?" You asked, and the both of them stared at you intensely. Okay, him knowing that you've spoken with Comoros before isn't that surprising. But the only time you ever talked with Seychelles was during your phone call with Comoros back in the Nordic home.
He shrugged, "I was informed. After all, this could possible be a life or death situation if we place you with the wrong countries."
Yeah, that kinda made SOME sense...

.

"So, you don't remember anything else?" Comoros asked and you shook your head. You really couldn't recall what else happened, at least, not now.

"The main question is still about how you even ended up almost dying," Sao Tome said, taking in a deep sigh right after he spoke. He looked a little shaken up, especially after saying the word 'dying', you wondered why.
Principe grabbed something from the desk near the bed and handed that object to you.
It was your phone.

Well, it was your phone, but it was broken. If it was still able to turn on in such an awful state, that would be a miracle.
Then, a question came into your mind, for some reason. A thought that hasn't really come up within your mind before.

"I have a question," You started and everyone's eyes were back on you. You gulped and continued, "Are they any other humans who are also like me?" "As in how?" Seychelles responded, yep, gotta be more specific, y'know?
"As in having powers..." You trailed off and the four of them glanced at each other.
"Yes, there is. I only know one other, though, her name's Caelan," Comoros replied. Your eyes widened.

CAELAN?
CAELAN?!?
That girl?!

"...Caelan?" You said, wanting to confirm. "Yep, Caelan, she's pretty close with the BeNeLux trio," Comoros confirmed.
You took in a deep breath, "What kind of power does she have?"

The Comorian answered, "Oh well, when she touches someone, she gets a flashback of their greatest traumatic event. That's what SHE SAID!" He couldn't help but chuckle at his own statement.
"She's able to do that?" You responded and he said, "As I said, that's what she said."
"The thing that we don't understand," Sao Tome butted in, "Is that there's no other country with such a power."

There's no other country with such a power...

"Okay now, let's move on from that! We have to plan how to make sure Y/N is safe!" Principe exclaimed, gesturing over to a whiteboard that was on the wall, "We can write our plans on it!"

...

......

Things don't always go as plan, do they?

I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.

But I don't have the bravery to tell you.
Would you even forgive me after so long?
I changed my name, I changed my life, I changed everything.
It's fine if you don't forgive me. I don't deserve your forgiveness.
I hurt you indirectly and unintentionally.

You didn't deserve it.
Maybe I was the one who did.

Rumors pass on so quickly.
I envied how amazing you were, I was always afraid to approach you because I thought I wasn't good enough to be your friend.

But I didn't say those things.
Everyone started to hate you after hearing something false. Common sense doesn't feel so common anymore. Those you considered as friends, they even turned on you.
People can be so fake these days it's unbelievable.

"Shh... You wouldn't want to alert anyone, would you?"

A voice suddenly rang in your ears.

"Don't tell anyone, got it? It's our little secret~"
