Harmony was good on her word that she wouldn't take long, she made it to her office and back in about 10 minutes. Apologizing as she hopped back in for "taking so long"

"You're good girl! I thought I was going to be sitting in the parking lot for at least half an hour," I teased

She sighed, "That would have been terrible. I just forgot one file here yesterday; I was trying to convince myself that I could get through the shows without it, but it has all the information for the venue contacts."

"Yeah, I'm going to go ahead an call that one important" I said.

We turned onto the highway in a comfortable silence, and she began to hum the song quietly coming through my sound system.

"You like chance?" I asked, turning the music up a little louder, letting the chorus of Finish Line/Drown fill the car.

She nodded, "I actually got to see him at Hip Hop Honors last year."

"Look at you cheesin' hard over there, what you got a thing for him or something?" I laughed

She blushed, "He's just a great artist, that's all."

"Mmmhmm, that's bae huh? I bet you all up in your bedroom talking bout 'oooo Chance'" I said, mocking her voice

She smacked my chest, which only made me laugh harder.

"He's a talented artist, I respect people who grind hard and make moves in their career because I know how hard it is. That's all"

I chuckled, "I see you, that's fair."

"Besides," She continued, "Even if I did find him attractive, I happen to know that he has a girl, and I'm not trying to be in some tabloid as some homewrecker."

I chuckled a bit, but let the conversation drop as the next track came on. We listened and she hummed, singing parts under her breath as we pulled into the garage of my building.

"I think you might wanna come up." I started, sliding into my stall, "It's going to take me way longer than 10 minutes to get all my shit together. I gotta throw another load in the laundry,"

She nodded silently and grabbed her bag, hopping out and following me to the elevator.

"Fancy." She said, pointing at the high tech floor panel, which used a finger print to determine which floor you were going to.

"Yeah, it wasn't in here when I moved in, took me forever to get the hang of it. I actually got to know the security guards because I kept having to call them to let me in" I said

She laughed, "That's funny. Did they think you were crazy?"

"Nah, the first couple weeks, we joked that the thing was racist, because it only worked for the one Chinese guard that they have working here, everyone else had to use the mannual override."

"Damn!" She said

"Yeah, I was going through it. It was weeks before they finally fixed it, one of my neighbors even got stuck inside because the thing freaked out in between floors." I continued

She gasped, "That's one of my biggest fears."

"Being stuck in an elevator?" I asked

She nodded. "Yeah. I have seen way to many horror movies about people getting stuck and crushed or killed in sketchy elevators. If it looks old and rickety, I just take the stairs."

The doors slid open on the 6th floor, and we stepped out, walking down the hall to my front door and pausing while I fumbled for my keys.

"You can just chill on the couch and watch TV or something." I said, pointing to my left at my wide leather couch and big screen.

"Damn." She said, walking over

I frowned, "What's wrong?"

"Nothing, it's just such a guys place." She giggled

I rolled my eyes, "Yeah, yeah. I know. My moms tells me that every time she comes up here"

"You should at least get a colored rug or some throw pillows or something." She teased

"You mean the things that you leave on your couch only to kick them around because they're in the way?" I asked

She laughed. "Yes. They add color!"

I rolled my eyes and walked into the kitchen, "Black is a color." I called behind me.

As I rummaged through the fridge for something to eat, I heard the TV come on. I realized then that I had thrown most of the food out because I was about to be gone for so long.

"You hungry?" I asked her

She didn't say anything for a moment before I heard her reply, "Yeah, a little."

"Cool, I'm going to order a Pizza and then I'll start the laundry. We should be back at the hotel by like 11? Is that too late?" I wondered

"No. That's fine." She replied

"I'm sorry," I said walking back into the living room, "I always think that it's easiest to pack the night before you leave, but realistically it's just really stressful."

She nodded, "I'm the same way, one of my girls had to come over and help me get it together for this trip."

I sank down onto the other end of the couch and pulled out my phone.

"Pizza Hut or Dominos?" I asked

She wrinkled her nose and made the cutest face I had ever seen. "Dominos, is that even a question?"

I laughed, "Hey, I have had people almost come to blows over me not wanting Pizza Hut, so I have learned to just ask."

"Those people are clearly on drugs." She laughed

We called up Dominos and placed our order before I headed into my bedroom to collect all the things I needed to toss into the wash.

"You need help she asked," As I carried the laundry basket over my washer and dryer just off the kitchen

"Nah, I got it." I said, dumping the entire basket into the washer and setting it up to do its thing

"So" I asked, returning to the couch, "What's up with you."

She had been scrolling through her phone, but my question made her look up at me, with one eye brow raised in curiosity.

"What do you mean?" She questioned

"Just, I mean this tour is a lot of time away from home, and you're doing the whole thing with us, everyone else is taking time off to go home and see family and shit. You ain't got someone waiting for you?" I asked

She smirked at me, "You trying to ask me if I got a man?"

I felt my face heat up, "I mean, nah. I just... I'm just wondering more about you. I wanna know you, that's all."

Her green eyes were like spears, searching my face as if she thought I was trying to pull something slick.

"I'm single. I'm trying to focus on my career, although I do find some men to be a bit... distracting."

Internally my stomach flipped. I hadn't been this intrigued by a female in a long ass time. She was so interesting, and beautiful, and bold. I didn't know hot to approach her.

"What's that supposed to mean?" I asked, because genuinely, I was curious.

Her attention returned to her phone as she replied

"Nothing bad, it's just sometimes easy to get caught up in dudes that are really suave ya know?"

I had so many questions. I wanted to out right ask her if she was attracted to me, but I also didn't want to come on too strong and scare her away. She seemed to be warming up to me, and I didn't want her to close off if she thought I was trying to get at her incorrectly.

Unfortunately fate had other plans, because before I could get another word out my mouth, the door bell rang.
