#BlackBoyJoy

Keith looked out into the audience of reporters nervously, no matter how many promotional events and press conferences he attended, he refused to believe that he would ever get used to sitting behind a panel answering 6 part questions.

"So gentlemen, can you tell us a little bit about the tour and what the entire premise for this project is?" A female reporter asked.

Keith searched the crowd for the source of the voice before he spotted the woman, he smiled at her, remembering a similar interview they had done with her during the Essence Festival earlier that year.

"Ya know, we had a lot of fun filming The New Edition Story, and right off the bat people were asking us if we had our own music that we could release, and if we would do a tour with the New Edition guys. Then like, when we were doing promo for the film, we did a radio show, and we all rapped...." Elijah responded

Bryshere chuckled, "Except for Woody."

The boys all laughed, and Keith smacked Woody on the shoulder to make sure the guy knew they were just poking fun.

"Yeah except for Woody." Elijah agreed, "But from that radio show, people started to really ask us if we would ever consider doing like a musical project together. But like not all of us were like really working on musical projects, like Keith raps but he was like more focused on the acting side."

Keith nodded, flashing a smile. "Yeah like when people were like blowing up my instagram and asking me to like send them a link to my freestyle that I did on Sway I was just like, really surprised."

"I think it was just really not at the front of anyone's mind at that moment, because we were so focused on like telling the New Edition story that nobody was really thinking about what we could do together after it was over. So like when we wrapped and the film came out and it got so much love, we just didn't expect it, and we had other projects lined up and stuff so we just did that until like maybe August, when BET started trying to like get in touch with us about doing this Summer tour." Luke jumped in.

Camera's clicked and flashed for a few moments in the silence before another reporter spoke up.

"What can we expect to see from this tour? I mean we've heard that this isn't just a normal concert series, so what is this whole production supposed to be?"

Bryshere took his turn and answered, "Last year, 2017, was just such a rough year for us and for the African American community and for our culture. You know we saw more police brutality incidents last year than we saw in 2015 and 2016 combined, and we just started to hear a lot of really bad talk, and just... rhetoric that painted black people, especially black men, in a way that we didn't like. So BET approached us about sharing music, and we told them from the jump that we really wanted to send a positive message. So while we are out on tour, we're going to be joined by different leaders and artists in the black community, and we are going to be putting on different clinics and workshops for kids and adults in some of the cities we visit about everything you can think of man. We got the Obamas joining us on some of our stops man, and we have really huge events planned with My Brother's Keeper and other organizations to really just promote black excellence."

"So the concert isn't the only thing you guys will be doing at all of your tour stops?" Another reporter wondered

"No. We are going to be holding art contests, acting classes that we are all going to be a part of, Keith is working with some major designers to organize fashion shows and modeling tutorials to mentor people who are interested in the fashion industry, Luke, Elijah and I are going to host talent shows in every city we stop at, Bryshere has some of the Empire guys signed on to do acting lessons with kids in different cities, Woody and Keith are gonna run a dance class in almost every city. The guys from New Edition are going to be with us, not just performing but I think Mike and Ronnie wanna talk business and finances. It's going to be a real well rounded affair." Algee elaborated

"Yeah, we might even drop by a couple of protests!" Elijah joked

"Oh hell yeah" Keith agreed

Cameras flashed again, but before another question could come out, Keith saw their production manager step out onto the stage.

"Thank you all so much for your amazing questions and being here to help us support and promote this event. Unfortunately, the guys are leaving for their final tour rehearsals in the morning so we are going to have to end things here." Harmony spoke in her sultry voice.

Keith found himself focusing very hard on his fingers and trying to ignore Woody making faces at him. It wasn't a secret to anyone with eyes that Harmony was fine, but the guys knew all to well that what he felt about her was a little something extra. He wasn't about to spend the entire car ride back to their hotel listening to them clown him for starring at her.

The reporters seemed to all talk at once as soon as Harmony finished her announcement, Keith couldn't really make out what any of them were saying. The boys all hopped up from behind the long table and marched off the stage, Algee and Elijah waving and clowning to show off for the cameras.

"You guys did a really good job." Harmony smiled meeting them in the wings, "Chris sent me a text saying that he really liked all the answers and he is excited to see you guys tomorrow."

"What time is our flight tomorrow?" Elijah asked

"8:30 am" She replied, not looking up from her phone

Keith bit back a smile. One of the sexiest things about Harmony was that she was always doing her thing. She never seemed to notice that he was practically fucking her with his eyes.

"You got a little something..." Bryshere whispered, pretending to wipe drool off his face

Keith rolled his eyes, "Boy. Stop playing"

"Well, I'm hungry, so can we hit something up on the way back to the hotel?" Luke asked

At the mention of food, everyone started to toss out places they had to eat.

"I can have the car drop y'all off for dinner, and then I will send it back for you." Harmony said

"You're not hungry?" Keith frowned

He internally smirked as she finally looked up from her phone.

"I am, but I got errands to run before we leave tomorrow." She explained

"I can take you. I drove here, and I still gotta swing back to my apartment before I go to the hotel anyway." Keith offered

She blinked a few times, considering his offer for a moment.

"Where's your apartment?" She asked

"Eastown, it's like 20 minutes from West Hollywood." He explained.

He realized exactly how much he wanted her to come with him. It was odd being in this position. It wasn't that Keith was fast, but since he'd moved to LA and started working, he had a decent following of people, which included a lot of women who were fully willing to give him their full attention whenever he wanted it, and more so when he didn't. He considered for a moment that this might be the closest he'd come to asking a girl he was interested in out since high school.

"Yeah, ok. That will work out perfectly if you don't mind swinging by my office?" She replied

Fighting back a grin he nodded, "That's fine."

"Well let's get outta here, because it looks like they're gonna start locking shit up." Bryshere said

Keith followed him as they all made their way to the door.

"You are slick as hell, you know that?" Bryshere chuckled, shaking his head

"What? Why?" he laughed

"You know you don't have to go by your house."

"Yes I do nigga!" Keith said quietly

B nodded, "Yeah, because now you gotta take miss Harmony to her office, but before she said she had to run errands, you was gonna come to dinner and not even worry about what's at your house."

"It's not even like that man." Keith defended

"Of course not. You just always trying to get her to chill with you, but you gotta remember dude, this is her job. She's working, she ain't concerned about your yellow ass."

Keith rolled his eyes and decided to keep quiet, his boys were going to clown him either way... better he not say anything than give them more ammunition.
