He had been asleep for a very long time now, maybe even longer than he had intended to. The past few weeks had been so hectic that he barely had the time to have a proper sleep, and when he woke up now, he wasn't so surprised to see the evening glow of the sun peeking through his curtains. He groaned and rubbed his hand absentmindedly on his eyes, sitting upright even though so lazily that he wished he could go back to sleep. But then he had to pray and eat and maybe watch a movie to refresh his brain.

Directly, he went to the bathroom. He could hear his phone, even though silently, ringing from his room but he didn't mind whoever it was. Today was a day he was going to treat himself to some nice things and just relax for the weeks or a month of nonstop flight throughout the world. He came out with the towel lazily wrapped around his waist and when the call came through again, he smiled when he saw that it was First H.

And it was a video call. He picked it up with a smile and positioned it so he could do all his after bath ritual while conversing with his twin, who he had missed so much. He was thinking of going back home, he had missed them all. But he knew deep down the reason he wanted to go back home was because of his Twin, he missed him so much. "If I had known it was you, I would've come out of the shower without bothering to even clean myself." He said with a lazy grin and didn't realize Nadia was beside him until she shrieked and pulled away from his hold.

"You should've taught your Twin not to pick calls when he's not properly dressed, Twin!" She whined and rolled her eyes. Even though she had moved away so she couldn't see him, he could see her behind Hassan as she pouted her lips, fanning her face with her hands as though seeing him almost naked had made her hot.

He chuckled. Maybe it wasn't just Hassan that he had missed, he missed his crazy wife as well. But wait, she had added some weight, didn't she? "First H, can you please tell your nagging wife to slim down? What's with the weight each time she appears in our video call?"

They had kept it a secret from him, and it had been two months since when they knew that she was pregnant. Hassan wanted to tell him in person, because he felt like no one could be more happy about this news like Hussain would, and so he kept his bustling joy within him. When it was evident that Hussain didn't have the plan of coming home anytime soon, he decided that maybe he would visit him himself.

"Singleton, Second H wants you to slim down, will you want to reply him while I bring out the surprise I have for him?" She didn't want this surprise, because she didn't want Hassan to leave her sight. Even though she knew that he couldn't stay long with him, even if not for her but because of his work, she still didn't want him to leave. But she had seen how he had struggled to get a visa and when he did, she had never seen him so excited. He legit spent the whole day talking about how Hussain would feel when he saw him after almost a year.

"Yes, sure. But it's no longer a surprise if you do, Twin." She chuckled at the baby grin that spread across his face and collected the phone, rolling her eyes at a now clothed Hussain. He looked dashingly handsome, as her husband would, if he had just come out from a shower. She didn't mind whenever she felt that Hussain looked handsome or he did something that was cute to her, she felt that it was because he had the face of her husband. Seeing him and finding him attractive was like finding her husband so, which was a good thing, if she was asked.

"So what if I've added weight?" She loved it more when they quarrel, when she could see that her words were diving right into his heart and he would do all he could not to say something so hurtful that could further strain the feeble relationship they had. It was more like a forced relationship. They both loved Hassan.

"If you keep on going this way, you'd look no less of an elephant in a few months."

She chuckled and acted as though his words didn't hit the right nerve. "Oh, how majestic an elephant is. Have you seen Mufeeda of recent? Or perhaps she didn't send you her picture? Your wife to be, oh my husband's twin, is as well on her way of looking just like the elephant you dare think of. Perhaps, we could slim her down a bit, since her lovely groom to be is obviously not into the chubby league, which is a loss to him, if I was asked."

She could see the way his eyes were squinting into a slit, trying all he could not to insult the living daylights out of her. This was the reason he had stopped picking Social's random and unnecessary calls because all she could talk about was Mufeeda. How she had missed him and was yet to move on. How she had sworn with her life that she could never get married so long as he's the husband. He didn't know why they were telling him this. Did he tell the girl to let her crush grow so big on him? No.

"I'd love it if you mind your talk about that girl, Nadia." Wait, had this man ever called her name? And why did it sound so perfect, so foreign and beautiful that she wished her Twin would sound the same as he did when he called her name. They had the same voice, yes. But yet the way he pronounced each letter of her name was different, beautiful and exquisite. She rolled her eyes nevertheless.

"There you go, Twin. I'd go to Hajia's chamber to convey the message of our latest groom. He said he wants his wife to be taken to him as he's so choked up with work to come back for the wedding." She was sure if he was close to her, nothing could stop Hussain from smacking her so hard. She got on his nerves, she always did.

Hassan threw his head back and laughed while she walked to the door, "I'd advice you not to, Singleton, unless you want to have two twin grooms on the same day. Because there's no way I wouldn't compromise for my best man and add a new wife to lessen his pain." That brought a cocky smile on his face that he wished she could see.

"I'd love to see you try, Twin!" She was laughing when she yelled the words out, she bet Hussain had smirked at his Twin brother's response.

Hassan turned back to the camera and lifted his passport, showing vividly where he was granted an American visa. "I got a visa to visit you, Second H!" The squeal that escaped the two men's lips was something no one could believe was done by fully grown men, to say that one of them was going to be a father in three months was funny.

After they had subsided with their merriments, Hussain looked at him with all the love and joy in his heart, "Tell me, is this the surprise you've been telling me two months ago? And also, when's your flight? I need to take a day off for my First H! God, I can't wait to see you! I was just planning on coming back to Nigeria so I could be able to see you but you've made everything easier on me."

Hassan grinned, how he so much loved his younger brother. Well, maybe the gap was insignificant, but he was still younger for a few minutes after he was born. "It will be on Friday, three days to go. And the other surprise will be after I arrive, it's a massive one!" He made some dancing moves that sent the two men rustling with laughter.

"I can't wait to see you, Ya Allah!"

"What do you mean that I've made everything easier for you?" He placed down the passport and sat down to have a manly conversation with his twin. "You can't always run away from home because of marriage, Second H. Do you want to stay single forever?"

Hussain chuckled and a sad look clouded his eyes. "I can't imagine myself being married to anyone since I've lost her, First H. It seem dull and heartbreaking, I just can't." Woah, that was the biggest slip of tongue he had ever had in his entire life. What the hell happened to him?!

Hassan stood there motionless for over five minutes before he blinked countless times, as though that could make him unheard what he did. "Come again, I can't believe what I've heard! No, Hussain, I've never felt betrayed like I did today. So, there has always been a girl?" He looked pained and heartbroken like he said, "And I've never known all along? You've been in love, lost her and grieved all alone? Come on, Hussain!"

From the moment he heard him referred to him as Hussain, he knew he was badly hurt by his words. "It all happened so fast, First H, and I felt so stupid to say it out loud, even to you. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hide anything from you. We're the best of friends, remember? I wasn't ready to tell you then, but I am now. That's why I've started the confession." His heart fell to his feet, he had never lied to his Twin but today.

Hassan sighed exasperatedly, still not over the ache. "So, will you tell me everything now and maybe if it's possible we can find a solution for you?"

He nodded his heart, thinking of what to say to get himself out of this mess. "I will, but we have all the good things to discuss, don't we? When you're here, we will have all the time in the world, and I'd cry on your shoulder if need be. It's still strong or that woman had weakened it?"

As much as Hassan didn't want to laugh, he did. "Don't say something about her unless you want me to come along with Mufeeda to you, she'd make a good wife too."

"I'm sorry, First Baba!" He mimicked Sohila's voice when she wanted something from him and Hassan had never laughed so hard before. If she heard this voice, she'd die of anger and embarrassment. "Forgive me or I'd pour acid on my face, it's our face so everyone will call us ugly. It doesn't matter if yours is unaffected, we have the same face, so..."

This was what they did during their childhood to lure each other into forgiving themselves. One thing about the twin, they loved their face so much because it was the one card they used in tricking people and also, like an assurance that they indeed were the same, just two different individuals.

"If you dare, I'd deny you being my twin, okay?" Hussain felt tears stung his eyes as he reminisced more of their childhood, and now he was being a baby, he knew. "Come, let me hug you. Hajia said we've hugged each other in her stomach until the day we were born, let's not release each other's hands, okay?" They said the last sentence together and were all aware of the tears in their eyes. They knew, they would never love someone like they loved themselves.

"Remind me why I was so stubborn to study this course and have to be far away from you, First H." Hussain said with a whining tone as he cleared the drops of his tears, smiling at him. When they went to the university, they had the first serious fight of their lives when he chose pilot as his profession and wanted Hassan to join him too. None of them wanted to be separated, but out of anger of Hussain choosing the course, while he wanted both of them to study international relations, Hassan went for it to show him he could live without him. It was so hard not to talk to each other or even see other until they ran at each other seven days later and were both in tears when they hugged themselves and said those words. It didn't matter who was there watching them, what mattered was them, their love, bond and everything.

"Because you were so stubborn, but I still love you nevertheless. And I'm glad we both have chosen what we wanted, we wouldn't have been this happy."

He nodded his head in agreement and smiled, "I love you, First H! That your wife shouldn't have been in the picture." He whined and Hassan laughed.

"I wouldn't want to stay a bachelor forever. We'd get you a wife too, just wait until I'm there to coerce you."

"It sucks hearing the marriage topic again." He dramatically whined, clutching at his heart. "Send me your plane ticket, I'd make all the necessary arrangements and cancel my schedule if I have any." They spoke for hours, hours that they both didn't care to count because they had missed each other. And before they ended the call, they had realized this was the longest they had ever been on phone with each other, and loveliest, which made them smile and their hearts filled with love. He couldn't wait to see him, he really couldn't!

May Allah bless me with Twins 😩❤️

I love their love! And the hatred between Nadia and her husband's twin😁
