Reed and I start to pull down the lane a little bit after my dad.

"Wow, this place is awesome."

"I know. I pretty much grew up here."

"So do you guys do a barbecue every year?"

"Yep. We always get a water slide too. Food, pop, horses, fourwheelers." I lean over and whisper in his ear "We race when the adults aren't looking."

"You rebel." Reed says and kisses me, trying to keep his eye on the lane so we don't drive into the canal. We pull in and I tell him to drive the loop so he can look around.

"I have never rode a horse." Reed says whispering.

"What! Well that's what we're gonna do today so you can be ready for the barbecue tomorrow."

"I'm pretty sure I can't ride a horse." Reed says pulling underneath one of the big trees.

"Yes you can. I will help you."

"How bout I just watch you."

"Are you scared."

"I don't get scared. I just decide that maybe I shouldn't."

"Well, I'm going to teach you. Plus, my cousin Zane, always brings his friend Cody. And Cody thinks he is the best at everything."

"And let me guess, he likes you." I nod as Reed shuts his door and walks over to mine. "Well, now I have to ride."

"I thought you would say that." We walk to the garage and pick up a table and carry it outside. We set it down and my dad set them up.

"Where's Ryder, dad?"

"He's over at Colton's house."

"Why didn't you make him help?"

"He seemed upset about something and said he just wanted to get out for a while."

"Hmm, weird." Reed and I walk back into the garage to grab the last table. "I wonder what he's upset about."

"Maybe his girlfriend broke up with him." Reed says lifting the table.

"He doesn't have a girlfriend."

"Well that's why he's upset."

"Haha it finally got to him he's alone forever."

"Yeah maybe." Reed says with his big grin.

"I'll be right back. I'm gonna go call him."

I quickly kiss him and he walks away. I walk onto the back porch and call Ryder.

"Wassup little sis?" Ryder says answering the phone."

"Over at grandma and grandpas setting up for tomorrow. Wassup with you?"

"With Colton. We're on our way out there to help."

"Are you okay? Dad said you weren't yourself this morning."

"Ya I'm fine. I was just thinking about stuff. I'm good now."

"Okay. I just wanted to make sure."

"Yep. I'm all good." I could tell he was lying by the tone of his voice.

"Ok, well see you in a little bit." I hang up and walk back out into the backyard.

"He ok?" Reed asks standing up.

"I don't know. He said he was fine but I can tell he's lying."

We finish mowing the lawn, pulling weeds, setting up the giant tent cover, set the tarp out to put the waterslide tomorrow. We sat around the for about 20 minutes and got back to work. We finally finished around 6:00. Ryder and Colton went back to his place after lunch.

"You ready to ride?" I ask Reed as we walk out to the tack shop.

"I guess. I want to watch you do it first though." He says with a big smile on his face and then kisses me on the cheek.

"I'm still gonna teach you how to do stuff."

"Fine. But I'm not going in the pasture."

"Fine. Your going to tomorrow so pay attention." I grab the halter and go out in the pasture. I get my horse, ghost, and start to put the halter on his head.

"You look hot!" Reed says leaning up against the hitch post.

"I know!" I walk out of the pasture and rap the lead rope around the hitch post.

"Why are you rapping it around so many times?"

"So he can't get away. Will you hand me that saddle in the tack shop?" I ask Reed pointing at it. Reed walks into the tack shop and picks up the saddle and walk out with it. He starts to hand it to me and I shake my head no.

"Is this not the right one?"

"That's it, your just gonna do it." I teach him how to do it and then he walks the horse to the round carral. He closes the gate and climbs up on top to sit on. I ran the horse for a few minutes and then got on him.

"See? This is all you have to do."

"That doesn't look to hard." I taught him how to make him turn and go faster and pretty much everything else you need to know about riding. He got on a little later tell the sun started to set.

We got back to the front of the house and my dad had already left. My cousin Bryson's car had takin the spot my dad was in. "I'm staying the night here, so you remember how to get here right?" I ask leaning up against Reeds car.

"Yep." He says leaning up against me. I kiss him and he kisses back. A few seconds later I feel him back away slightly and then I hear some one talk.

"Get a room!" It was Bryson. I run over and give him a big hug. I don't see him a lot since he graduated high school. I only see him on birthdays and holidays. "So who's this?" He says looking at Reed.

"You haven't met Reed? Ryder and I met him like 8 years ago."

"I might of, but I don't remember."

"Well, this is Reed." I say grabbing Reeds hand.

"Nice to meet you." Reed says shaking Bryson's hand. Bryson smiles and goes back inside. "I will see you tomorrow." Reed says getting into his pickup.

"I love you." I say. I was nervous what he would think. That's the first time I have said that. Reed sits there for a few seconds and then smiles.

"I love you too." He pulls out and drives down the lane. I go inside and grab a coke.

"So, tell me about him. Just so I know I don't have to kill him." Bryson says smiling.
