"So, I decided, why don't we go to Hawaii after graduation? I know it's in a while, but it would be better if we went then." Ryder says coming in and sitting on my couch.

"Well mom said to go next week."

"I know. I already talked to her and she said after graduation would be better."

"Ok. Have you told Reed?"

"No. I figured you would."

"Okay." I walk out and hold up two dresses. "Which one?"

"I like the red one."

"Okay. Black it is."

"I said red!"

"I know. I'm just kidding." I walk back into my closet and hang the black dress back up.

"So why are you getting all fancied up?"

"I'm going to dinner." After I said that, Ryders whole mood changed. But it wasn't to a mad mood, it was a suprised mood.

"With Reed?"

"Uh yeah. Who else would I go with?"

"I don't know. Your friends or something."

"Nope. Goin with Reed."

"Cool. Umm, I'm gonna go back to my room."

"Wait, is everything okay?" I say coming out of my closet with the dress on.

"Yep." He walks out and shuts my door. I shrug my shoulders and go into my bathroom.

*Ryders POV*

I get into my room and call Reed.

"Hey. Wassup?"

"So we're gonna wait to go to Hawaii tell after graduation."

"Do you just not want me and your sister to get married or something?"

"I just don't want you to rush it. Like tonight, that would be rushed. She's still in high school and I don't want that kind of stress and all that on her when she still has finals to worry about."

"Why did you say tonight?" He paused. "Oh the dinner. Dude I'm not going to do it tonight. Trust me. But now your making me wait tell summer?"

"It's to early right now. Please just wait."

"Okay. If it means that much to you, I will wait tell summer."

"Thank you." There was a knock on my door and Riley peeked in. "Hey, I got to go. See you later." I say pulling the phone away.

"Alright see ya."

"What's up little sis?" I say setting down my phone.

"Do I look okay?"

"Ya. I really like the dress."

"Thanks. Who where you on the phone with?"

"Reed."

"Cool. Everything okay?"

"Everything's fine."

"So you have a girlfriend yet?" Riley says trying not to laugh.

"Well there's a line. Just trying to figure out which ones the first."

"That's cute. Well good luck with the like. But seriously, is there someone?"

"Why would I talk to you about this?"

"Cause I'm your sister."

I sigh and smile. "Yes"

"Who?!!!"

"Do you know who Miranda Jacobson is?"

"Ya. We have Econ together."

"Her and I have this love hate relationship type deal, and I can't tell if she actually likes me."

"Dude, ask her out on a date or something. She is so into you."

"Really? How do you know?"

"Because she doesn't stop talking about you. It kind of grosses me out."

"Haha. So you think she would actually go on a date with me?"

"Worth a shot big brother." There was a knock the door and we both walk downstairs. "Call her right now." Riley says as she opens the door.

"It's Christmas. She's probably busy."

"Call her Ryder!" She says walking out the front door.

"Fine. What time will you be home?"

"Late. I will call you when we're done." I shut the door and call Miranda.

"Hello?"

"Hey Miranda. It's Ryder."

"Oh hey. How's your Christmas going?"

"Interesting. How bout yours?"

"Boring. My parents are at a Christmas party type deal and my sister is out on a date. So I'm stuck home alone."

"You wanna go do something? Like dinner or a movie or something?"

"Ryder Hale, are you asking me out on a date?"

"Do you want it to be a date?" I say trying to sound cool. I'm pretty sure I sounded like an idiot though.

"I would love it if it was a date."

"Then a date it is." I say trying not to sound like I'm in shock.

*Rileys POV*

"What was that all about?" Reed says shutting my door.

"Some girl Ryder likes."

"Oh Miranda."

"He told you?!"

"Yep. You jealous?" Reed leans over and kisses me and then starts the car.

"Pshh, no." I smile and we leave for the restraunt. He won't tell me where we're going though.

"What are we doing here?" I say confused as he pulls into a hotel parking lot.

"Don't worry. The best restaurant is in here. And they have a pool." I smile and get out. He grabs my hand and we walk inside. When we got inside, Reed was telling the lady we had a reservation and then I saw him sitting there.

"Reed." I say into his ear. He looks down at me and then I look over at him.

"Cole." Reed says angrily.

"Have you even talked to him yet?"

"Not a lot."

"I mean about what happened."

"Right this way." Our waiter led us in the direction our table was at.

"Thank you." Reed says as we sit down. He hands us our menus and he walks away. Go figure, Cole is right behind us. I try not to look up so Cole doesn't see me.

"I don't know if I can talk to him about that without getting mad."

"Well, here's your chance." I say looking at Cole as he walks over to our table.

"Well looky who we have here." Cole says patting Reed on the back.

"What do you want Cole?" Reed says not looking at him.

"I can't say hi to my brother? I means it's Christmas for Pete's sake."

"Ya, that's why I'm here. Now if you could go that would be great."

"I want to talk Reed."

"Cole I'm busy." Reed says looking up at him with a stern look.

"Later?"

"Fine."

I just sat there quietly looking at the menu tell Cole finally walked away.

"So have you two decided what you want yet?" The waiter says setting down our water.

"We're gonna need a couple more minutes." I say smiling. He smiles and walks to another table.

"Do you know what you want?" I ask Reed.

"I'm gonna have the chicken Alfredo."

"That's what I was thinking."

"What do I do about Cole?"

"Don't worry about it right now. He's not important right now." I say setting my hand on his.

"Your right. Right now it's about you and me." He says smiling.

"What can I get for you?" Our waiter asks.

"We're going to both have the chicken Alfredo." Reed says.

"Okay." He writes it down and walks to the kitchen. Right as he walked away my phone starting to ring.

"Sorry it's my brother." I take it out of my pocket and answer.

"Yes?"

"It worked!" Ryder says excitingly.

"I told you. Hey I have to go. I'm in a restaurant."

"Oh ok. See you in a bit. Be careful. Love you."

"Love you to." I hang up and put my phone on silent. "Sorry. He got her to go on a date with him."

"That's cute."

The waiter comes and sets the food down. "Enjoy."

"Thanks." I say as he walks away.

The rest of the night we ate and talked about colleges. We want to go to colleges close to home and to each other since we'll be living and Reeds apartment.

*Later that night*

"You want me to take you home? Or go to my place?" Reed says as we dry off from the pool.

"I would really, really like to go to your place, but I don't want to leave Ryder home alone. Plus he's probably gonna want to tell me everything that happened."

"Why would he be alone?"

"Well, I don't know when and IF our dad will be home tonight."

"What do you mean?" Reed says putting his shirt on.

"He's been leaving a lot lately and we have no clue where he is going or what he's doing."

"Oh I see. You want me to come over to your house?" He says rapping his arms around my waist as we walk out to the parking lot.

"Yes." I smile and get in the truck.
