After Math

Hello, everybody! We are so close to 200 hundred reads, and probably by the time I publish this chapter, it should be past that! I think I might start doing these little author notes either in the beginning or the end of each chapter. I'm not so sure, but comment down below if I should start doing these every chapter or just don't do it at all. Alright, I should stop writing, and just get on with the chapter.

The awkard silence. That was it after everything happened. Us just weirdly standing there, like we were the team that didn't belong here. Cabe finished talking to somebody, and walk over to us.

"I've got good news and bad news." Cabe says.

"Oh, I hate when we play this game, the bad seems to outweight the good." Toby puts in. Everyone turns to Toby and gives him the shut-up  look.

"What's the good news?" Walter asks, ignoring Toby's statement.

"The good news is that we found some intel were other places like these."

"Domestic?" Walter asks.

"Worldwide." I blurt out. I could hear all the geniuses minds working. They were trying to figure out possible locations on other places like these, that took children and made them into a weapon.  I clear my throat, breaking everyone from their thoughts and wonders to let Cabe finish saying what he needed for us to know.

"The bad news?"  I say, wondering.

Cabe sighed. " The bad news is that we can't pin point where the places are because the system is too damaged to make out any locations or coordinates to help us figure out where any of the other places are."

"See, I was right!" Toby exclaimed. We turned to him.  "The bad news always  outweigh the good news!"

I roll my eyes and turned back to Cabe. "Well, at least we have something. And it's better than nothing."

"That's true, Katt." Cabe  agreeing with my statement. " It is  better to have something then nothing, because then that one little thing leaves us more clues to look for, until we solve this god damn case."

That's one part of my list done. Now, is the next part: me finding a Social Service worker.

I grab my bag and go into the crowd of people with crisp suits, perfect make-up, and expensive cologne. Great. I try and find a social services worker but that is finding a needle in a haystack, but I mange, since I can see everyone's name, job, family, past, and records.

Finally, after a few minutes walking around, brushing past people to find a worker, I see one, out of sight and out of the crowd.

"Hello." I say.

"Hello, miss how can I help you?" See, this is what I love about people. They always focus on stereo types, because me, I'm a blonde and I'm eleven.

"Well," I open my backpack and take out more than three binders, filled with files, and folders, also notebooks filled of names as well and hand them to Mr. Jhonkes.

"These, are most of the kids that I could get and half of them are on the missing list, their parents are listed in each folder, including a name address, phone number, backround, photo and security number. " I say quickly.

I hand these to Mr.Jhonkes who, is surpised by the weight of everything, struggles a bit, but regains this posture.

"Make sure this is your top priority, or else I will personally alert your manger, and tell him that you are not working and instead, you are watching porn." Mr.Jhonkes's face went red.

"I think you really don't want me to bring this up because, I think this will be your last warning, before your boss fires you." I explain to him, making him more embrassed and flustered than before.

Also, when your done, I need you, when you get upon Sadie Relad, I need you to call me on this number, and do not contact the number, do mine first." I look up at Mr.Jhonkes face. His face is blank, filled with confusion, redness, and embrassement.

"Y-Yes, r-right away." Mr.Jhonkes walked away, quickly, probably wanting to recover from that super embrassing moment he just had in front of an eleven year old girl, who he thought knew nothing about him, knew everything about him. I close my backpack and grab it. I turn to see Paige, Happy, Sly, Toby, Cabe and Walter just standing their, watching me just burn poor Mr, Jhonkes's heart.

Paige, Sly, and Walter's faces were just shock, Toby's face was also a mixure of shock/scareness, and Happy was just grinning like an idiot.

I walk over to them waiting for my round of applause.

"Damn girl, never tell me to get into a fight with you" Toby said.

I turn to him, tilt my head and smile. "Well, that  is a perfect example to never mess with me."

"I like you." Happy said. I knew that really meant though.

"Thanks."

But my greatness was short-lived.

"So, were are you going now?" Walter asked.

I shrugged. "I'm not so sure. I'll survive on my own. That's what I've always done. I'll be fine."

I was lying. I was lying in my own teeth. I had no idea what I was going to do after this. Try to score some jobs? Start repairing crap? Blank. That's all I could come up with.

A few minutes we were just standing their, in silence. I didn't know if I should move, but after a more seconds, I grab my bag that I dropped on the floor, and just before I turned to walk away, Walter says, "Wait."

I turn around a face him.

"W-What if you would like to stay with us?"

I raised my eyebrow. I was speechless. And I am never speechless, but I ain't starting today.

"W-why would you do that?" I ask, curious to know his answer.

"Um, because your one of us. And we have to look after each other." Walter replay, looking at the yellow sand.

I was shocked. Here, the person with the highest IQ in Scorpion, but the lowest in EQ was doing an emotional converstion with somebody.

One point for Walter.

I bit my lip and thought about it for a few seconds.I take a deep breathe. I put my hand out for Walter to shake.

¨Deal.¨ Walter putted his hand out to shake my hand, but I pulled back slightly.

¨Only for a few days. If I don't like it, then I'll leave.¨ I add.

I pull my hand out again, and Walter shakes it.

¨Deal.¨

By the time we left the place to go back to the warehouse, it was nearly sunset. The car ride was quiet and the only sound you could hear was the music coming out of the radio. Since the time that we left was rush hour, we got stuck in traffic, and so I helped them get in and out of traffic, by selecting a the quickest, easiest and the least busiest routes.

So, when we arrived at the warehouse the sun had set and the moon came out to play. When we opened the door, we realized that it was too  quiet for a little kid to be in here.

"Ralph?" Paige called out, her expression was filled of worry, thinking that we haven't saved her son in time, but that her worry was gone as we heard small footsteps come down the stairs.

"Mom!" Ralph calls out as everyone was now relieved, and went back to their desks to work, as Paige gave Ralph a kiss on the check.

Ralph gave Paige a quick hug which I could tell, shocked her. Then he gave Walter one.

"Hey buddy, let's go work on that rocket?" Walter asked Ralph as he nodded and ran off somewhere else, probably to start working on a rocket. I really wanted to ask if I could see the rocket, but maybe when I start to earn Walter's trust a little more.

I started to walk around. "So, this is your home?"

"Yes."

I scoffed.¨You know they say that you should never bring your work home, but you take it to the next level.¨

I turned to them, as they spread out to their desks, ¨So, where am I going to stay?"

Everyone looks at each other.

"You can stay here." Walter says. "There's a spare bedroom up stairs." Then, he goes back to looking into this stack of papers.

I nod.

"We can go shopping for clothes tomorrow, okay?" Paige says.

I nod. "Okay." I grab my two backpacks, find the nearest couch and plop myself on it, and pulling out my phone to play flappy bird. It's a really addicting game, and I know I shouldn't play it, but I need something to pass the time. And by the time I look up, everyone had disappeared from the warehouse. I sit up from the couch, and putting my phone in my pocket.

That's Katt's Outfit.

I find Walter in the kitchen. I skip to him and ask, "Whatcha doin'?" I giggled. Walter sighed.

"Do you want anything to eat?" Walter asks.

I shake my head. Walter claps his hands together. "Okay, well I'll show you your room."

"Brb." I said to him as I quickly run back the couch, pick up my bags and run back to him.

"Got them." I raised my two bags up in the air and then back down. Walter nods.

We walk up stairs and Walter leads me to a bedroom. It's pretty standard. There's a bed in the middle of the room, and dresser with a mirror on top of it and a chair, with a big window covered by a white curtain. Also another door leading into a walk-in closet, with a bathroom attached.

"Thanks." I say as I drop my two bags near the bed and plop on the bed.

"Well, if you need anything, just ask." Walter said, and awkwardly smiled. "Also you can buy some things to make this room a little more...colorful, since this is going to be your room. But if only you want to do that of course.."

I nod. This was Walter. The Mr.197, but he was still awkward with conversations and being human.  And just as Walter was about to close the door, I say, "Wait."

He opens the door again and walks in the room. "Yes?"

"Have you figured out my name yet, Walter?" I asked, a smile creeped up on my face.

Walter shoved his hands in his pockets. "Kardia  Athena Thalassa Thera."

I nod. I shot up from the bed, and walk over to Walter.

"Finally! " I say. "It only took forever."

"So, what do you want me to call you?" Walter asks politely.

"Call me... Kardia". I answer.

"Okay, well good night... Kardia." Walter says as he walks out of the room.

I sigh, and fell back on the bed. I knew I wasn't going to get a warm welcome. Walter, was still the emotionless person that everyone said he was. But I wanted to change that.  He was my new project, my new mission. I look at my bag and then looked at the clock on the night stand on the left side of the bed. 7:48 pm. It wasn't really late but, I still grabbed my other bag, not my brown leather one, and went into the bathroom. I took off my make-up, washed my face and headed to the shower. Also, I don't really wear a lot of make-up. I usually use mascara, eyeshadow,  concealer and some light pink lip stick. That's really all. I don't cake my face with make-up like some girls do, just a little make-up.

I'm not one of those girls that take 20 minutes in the shower, but I just don't get it. Why do they stay in so long, like that else do you do in there?. My shower took 6 minutes and 24 seconds. I took out a pair of blue and white stripes shorts, and a pink shirt that the words GAP on it. I put on my big, nerdy looking glasses, and went to my bed. I pulled out my laptop to multitask, and buy some stuff online. I take out one of my binders in my leather backpack and looked for a new file folder, looked for a piece of paper, grabbed a pen and started to write everything I know about Mr. Walter O'Brien.
