He's Stronger Than He Looks

'Honeydew! Wait! Hero!' Peculier caught up with Honeydew and roughly shook him. 'What do you think you're doing? You've just given up your best friend, the hero, to Israphel!' Peculier accused. Honeydew shushed him quickly, and wiped his tear-stained cheeks.

'It was his choice.' Honeydew pointed out, 'He chose to go with Israphel. He did it to keep the two of us safe.' Sniffling, Honeydew continued. 'He went to get information from Israphel.' Honeydew's voice was lower than a whisper now. Peculier gasped.

'But he won't survive, will he? He's lost so much blood, that I don't know if he will survive Israphel's domain.' Peculier rushed, speaking half to himself, half to Honeydew. Honeydew nodded in agreement.

'I don't believe Israphel will just let him die. If he did, then why would he have taken him away. We would've suffered more if he had died in front of us. No, I believe that Israphel inflicted those wounds on Xephos. And if I'm right, then he can heal him in a matter of seconds.' Honeydew stated. Peculier sniffled a little bit.

'You think that might be true?' Peculier wondered. Honeydew nodded vigourously.

'Yes. I reckon that he did it, because he knew that we were more likely to leave Xephos if he were dying that if he were healthy. Meaning that it's all some kind of mind game that he's trying to play on us. He probably did it so then we wouldn't come looking for Xephos. As nobody looks for a dead man.'

'It makes sense, just why Xephos? And why drag it out? We took so long to realise that Xephos had fallen behind. Even longer to notice that he was gone. Why wouldn't he have just taken him?' Peculier quizzed. Honeydew sighed.

'I'm not going to pretend that I know what goes on inside that devil's mind. But I think that he did it to inflict dread on us. Xephos was the best swordsman out of us. Maybe he thought by us seeing how easily he could take him down, he would make us turn back and give up.' Honeydew replied.

'Yees, that sounds like something he would do.' Peculier responded. 'Israphel is a shift character. I believe that this may be a part of some bigger plan.' Honeydew sighed.

'I just hope that Xephos will be okay.' Honeydew grimaced. Peculier rested his hand on the dwarf's shoulder in reassurance.

'Xephos is stronger than he looks. He'll be okay. I'm sure.' Peculier decided. Honeydew still wasn't sure though, he couldn't be as sure as Peculier when it came to Xephos' safety. Its not that he didn't believe in the spaceman, he simply didn't know if Xephos could survive in the condition he was in.
