Regret. After she left my office the first time, that is all I felt. I regretted myself being fooled by Rhea, by being used by her. I regretted letting myself be put on the Daxamite ship, I regret leaving the ship and letting the embryo stay. I felt pure regret of being naïve. I knew she was alive, but I didn't care.

I push a button on my computer and it powers on. I stare at my glass full of scotch and I debate drinking it. The debate is short though, and I down the whole thing within minutes. I log onto my computer and think about what to do. I start to type about everything I could remember about Marie, from everything she told me, to what Rhea said during the invasion. Maybe the DEO, J'onn or Kara would have more information. While I was typing, I heard the soft creaking of the door opening. To my surprise, it is Marie.

"You are not my assistant, nor do you have coffee," I say stating the obvious.

"Yeah, about that. Your assistant and I accidentally bumped into each other while I was leaving. The coffee spilled everywhere. I cleaned it up as best as I could, but the floor is a bit stained. Jess should be up any minute now with a new coffee. I just thought you should know so she didn't get in trouble for taking so long." I don't want to tell her that I know what happened, and how thin the walls are, not to mention the constant security feed I have in my office.

"Lucky for her, I am not that type of boss. But thank you for telling me anyway." I say, trying to hint that I don't want her here. It is clear she took my hint.

"Yeah, no problem. Goodbye for real this time."

"Goodbye." She closes the glass door and I listen for her high heels as she walks away. I grab my phone and call Kara. The phone rings a couple times and Kara picks up.

"Hello?"

"Hey, Kara. Is there any chance you are at the DEO right now?"

"I was just about to head there, J'onn is calling a meeting. You should be getting the alert in a few. How are you handling it?"

"Well, having a daughter isn't exactly my plan. I sent her away. I want to know more about her before I let her even have a relationship with me."

"You know, the best way to know more about her is to talk to her." Kara is right. It isn't a big shocker. I feel my phone buzz, I look down at my phone and see an alert. I am needed at the DEO immediately.

"Will you make it to the DEO on time?'

"Yeah, I am heading over now."

"I'll see you in a minute." I press the red button and the call ends. I put my cup in the sink, and put the scotch away. I press a button on my watch and a portal opens in front of me. I walk through it and immediately step into a DEO conference room.
"Lena, welcome." Brainy says as I take a seat, "Kara is flying Dreamer over right now." I take a look around. Alex and Kelly are sitting across from me, and Brainy is next to me. J'onn is sitting promptly at the head of the table. All of a sudden Kara and Dreamer walk in, and Kara takes a seat next to me, while Nia sits across from Kara next to Kelly.

"Why did you call the meeting here and not at the Tower?" Dreamer asks.

"We can meet at both places." J'onn says, "We have an urgent matter to discuss. Brainy informed me of our new Daxamite-Human friend."

"You all know?" I ask.

"Yes. I calculated that Marie, the Daxamite-Human, would reach out to you today. So I told J'onn and J'onn told Kelly and Alex. I was gonna tell Kara, but Marie told her before I could."

"I was the last to know about Marie?" I say. I feel betrayed but yet so relieved. Whoever said that ignorance was bliss, lied.

"Yes, Mon-El is gonna know, but it is hard to get messages to the future."

"Oh fun." I say sarcastically.

"But what is more important is Marie, or more specifically what she is. All we know is that she grew up and matured fast." Alex says, looking at me.

"She told me she is eighteen." I say trying to contribute to the conversation,

"By that ratio, when she was a year old, she had the body of a 4 and a half year old." Brainy says, "I would really appreciate it if we could run some tests on her, get her in the database."

"How do we find her?" Kara asks, "She isn't a typical daxamite, she probably gives off a human heat signature." Brainy taps quietly on his electronic pad.

"Wrong. There is only one Daxamite signature. It seems to be from a while ago."
"Where is it?" Kara asks.

"Lou Apartment building."

"That is just a few blocks from Luthor Corp," I say, "I see it on my way in everyday."

"That is a little stalkery." Dreamer says.

"No, I think we are taking it too far. She told me that the only reason she is in National City is to see and meet Lena. I don't have reason to believe that she was lying," Kara says. Alex gives Kara a concerned look, almost a disappointed look.

"It took you a while to even trust Mon-El, and after the invasion, we don't have reason to believe that she is trustworthy, Kara. The Daxamites are bad people, and we know for sure she has had exposure to the ones who escaped Earth. And I know you want to see the good in people, but it is truly nature vs nurture on this one. Lena and Mon-El may be good people, but we don't know who Marie has seen or how she grew up."

"Why don't we track her down, maybe we could get that testing done and more answers?" Kelly says as she looks at me, "Are you ok with that?"

"Let's go find my daughter." I say with a half-hearted smile. We all stand up and J'onn starts to give orders.

"Alex, Brainy, could you stay here and gather any and all information on Daxamites and their physiology? Dreamer, could you dream to see if that will give us any information on Marie?"

"Lena and I will go to the Fortress to see if it has any information on Kryptonian-Human Hybrids like Jonathan and Jordan."

"Who are Jonathan and Jordan?" Kelly asks.
"Clark's kids, they are Kryptonian-Human hybrids." Kara says, "I just know that they struggle with their powers but Clark helps them."

"Kelly and I are going to go patrol the streets while you guys are gone." J'onn says as Kelly and him walk out of the conference room. Dreamer sets her head on the table gently, and Brainy follows J'onn.

"Do you want me to fly us there?" Kara asks me.

"I have the portal, I will meet you there. Unless you wanna go through the portal with me, I swear it's faster" I say. I prefer to portal because Kara only flies me when she catches me, or saves me, or both; it is usually both. Kara changes quickly and flies away.  I click the little button on my watch and a portal opens up. I walk through it into the cold, icy fortress. Kara whooshes in and I give her a smirk.

"I told you the portal watch was faster."

"Do you really need to say "I told you so?" Kara says as we walk to the giant computer.

"Yes, in fact, I do. I did tell you so."

"Fine, you're right," Kara looks at the computer, "Tell me everything about Daxamite-Human hybrids."

The computer powers on and Kelex comes out.

"Welcome, Kara Zor-El. Unfortunately, there is only one Daxamite-Human in existence. That is Marie Mon-El. Her physiology is unknown. What is known is that Daxamite-Human hybrids can be much like Kryptonian-Human hybrids due to their similar physiology."

"Do they have powers?" I ask.

"That is unknown." Kelex tells me, "Most likely."

"Thank you." Kara says as I tap on my watch and a portal opens up. We both go through the portal and back into the DEO. "How are you doing? I know that so much has changed within 24 hours."

"I am handling it. I still don't know if I am ready for a daughter."

"Is anyone truly? Alex and Kelly didn't feel ready for Esme. You just sorta take it on ya know?"

  We leave the conference room and walk down the stairs to the main area. Brainy and Alex are waiting for us.

"Did the Fortress have anything?" Alex asks.

"Well, sort of. It just reassured what we do know. There is a good chance that Marie is like Jonathan and Jordan, just with less powers, like Mon-El and I."

"Our best bet is to go to the Lou Apartment buildings and visit her." Brainy says.

"Is she dangerous?" Alex asks.

"No." Kara and I say in unison.

"She is just a scared little girl on the inside." Kara says.

"I saw her helping my assistant. Trust me, she is a good person." I say to follow up. Dreamer walks down the stairs. "What did you dream about?" I ask.

"All I saw was a cage, and a little cloth mask. This is something I don't know how to interpret. It is much like the Cat Grant dream I had in Midvale, but there isn't a pink cat."

"Kara, Lena and I will go to the apartment building and find her." Brainy says, "Alex, can you do more testing on the blood sample you got during the DNA test?"

"I'll try."

"Is there anything we can do?" Dreamer asks.

"Head back to Catco, and maybe try to find the interpretation." Kara says. I press the button on my watch and a portal opens. We all three walk through the portal and exit to see a large building. We all walk up the concrete stairs and Kara pushes the button.

"Hello?" The button speaks.

"Yes, hello. I am Lena Luthor, I am here to see Marie."

"Oh my." The door lock unclicks automatically and Kara opens the door. We all walk into the lobby. The lobby is small, with stained hardwood floors, and 60's wallpaper. I see carpeted stairs in the corner, and an old lady sitting in a small booth along the wall.

"How may I help you three?" She looks so friendly, her snow white hair rests on her head in a bun.

"We are looking for Marie?" Brainy says.

"She is on the second floor, room six."

"Thank you." Kara says as she looks at Brainy and I, "She pressed a silent alarm." She whispers. 

"I'll disable it and let the police know it's just us." Brainy says.

"I wanna see if this lady has any information, Lena can you head upstairs and find Marie?"

"Yep." Brainy pulls out a tablet and taps it, Kara walks over to the booth. I listen as I walk up the stairs.

"Hello, Kara Danvers with Catco Worldwide."

"How can I help you Ms. Danvers?" The old lady asks. I continue walking up the stairs and I make it to the second floor. I cannot hear Kara's conversation. I walk past room 4, then 5, and I stop at the end of the hallway in front of the white door labeled with the number 6. I stand in front for a minute, until I hear Kara and Brainy walking down the hallway. I smile, and ask,

"Who is she? What information did she have?"

"Her name is Harriet Lou, her husband and Marie's dad co-own this place. Marie's parent's Suzette and Henry Long had to flee after a bounty was set on them. She said that Marie left for Catco this morning and never came back." Kara says.
"Why did she trigger the silent alarm?" I ask.

"She thought we were here to kill Marie, and claim the reward money."

"Why?" Kara goes quiet, I know that look she gives me, "What did Lex do?"

"Henry worked at Luthor Corp for a long time, he became an asset. Henry wanted to quit but Lex told him that if he quit that his wife and child would be killed. So, Henry stayed for a while, secretly bought a farm and they fled."

"Is there a chance that Lex knows about Marie, or more specifically, her genealogy?"

"That is only a 2.4 percent chance, so it's highly unlikely."

"We need to find Marie." Kara knocks on the door. With no answer, she knocks again.

"Marie? It's Supergirl." Kara twists the knob and forces her way inside. We all walked inside to see a large apartment. There are high heels scattered across the floor, and the living room is a mess. There are pictures on the wall of what I assume is Marie and her family. She has a smile that practically lights up the whole photo. Brainy rummages through the messy living room and Kara helps him. I look around and go through an open doorway. I walk into a large bedroom which looks untouched. In the corner there is another doorway, but the light is on. The room turns out to be a bathroom. I see a phone sitting next to the sink. I pick it up and yell,

"I found a phone!"

Brainy and Kara come rushing in. I press the home button on the phone, and the screen lights up. There are about 5 notifications from "Mom," and two missed calls from "Dad." The texts look urgent. Kara gives me a worried look.

"I have a bad feeling, it feels like a "Marie is in danger" feeling." Kara says, "Brainy, can you hack into the phone, and see any possible locations. I am going to call Nia and J'onn."

Brainy quickly hacks into the phone and we all head to the living room. It looks cleaner than we found it, Kara must've felt the need to clean, I think as a pace back and forth, waiting for an answer.

"I have gone through the phone, there was a reminder to go to Catco this morning, but that is all. I also hacked into Luthor Corp to access the security feed, sorry Lena." I interrupt and reassure him,

"It is fine."

"Thank you, anyways, the last time she was visible by camera was walking out of Luthor Corp and it appears she started to turn left and walk."

"Could she have run away?" Kara asks, confused.

"And leave all of her stuff? Especially her phone?" I say, "If anyone else knows about her Luthor genes, she is in danger. I am in constant danger because of my last name, and I have had several assassination attempts. I don't think she ran away."

"Do you think she was kidnapped?" Kara asks.

"No, there is only a 7% chance that she was kidnapped."

"I will fly around the city to see if I can see or hear anything." Kara's phone beeps, she reaches in her pocket and reads the text. "J'onn psychically scanned the city, he said he couldn't reach her." My mind automatically goes into freak out mode, It's my fault, everything is all my fault. "Lena, remember when     Cadmus was stealing all of those aliens, and I asked if you had any technology to find them? Do you still have any technology?  I would use Myriad to find them but I threw it in the sun."

"Yeah, I will look into it." We all shuffle out of the apartment building, and go our separate ways, I go to Luthor Corp while Brainy goes to the DEO, and Kara flies around the city.

3 hours later....

The car ride to my apartment is quiet, all you can hear is the soft pattering of rain on the windows and roof. I sit in the back with Kara, who openly feels guilty.

"I am so sorry Lena." Kara holds my hand, "We will find her." I stare out the window, begging my eyes not to shed a tear. A constant thought entering my head, she is not my daughter. I look at Kara but I cannot control my eyes.

"It isn't your fault Kara. I can only imagine how hard this is for you too. Mon-El was your love and like it meant nothing Rhea made a child."

"You trusted her and she betrayed you like Lex and Lillian and even me." I cup Kara's cheek. Kara deserves more, she doesn't deserve this. I would do anything for her, and her for me. I want to tell her how much I love her.

"Kara?"

"Yeah?"

"I just want to tell you that I.." And then to my hatred, my phone rings. I grab it and look whose calling. "Unknown number." I answer it to hear something I was dreading.

"Hello Lena. It's your old pal, Otis."
