I've always loved books that tell you the end before the end. It gives you time to process the ending before it happens. The mind has stages of grief that help you process trauma and especially death. These are Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression and Acceptance. As I look around the room filed with the most important people in my life, I see every stage except for Acceptance, which means that I must be acceptance. Nia and I were the first to get to the tower, and we brought doughnuts for everyone. The next person after us was J'onn who oddly enough declined the doughnuts. J'onn had on his Martian outfit but still wore the body of Hank Henshaw. I asked him about it once and he said that it was comfortable to him. Alex and Kara came in next. Alex is wearing her DEO uniform, she normally stopped at the tower before work. Kara is wearing a pink button up shirt with a cardigan and a black skirt. She has her hair down which has been common since she came out as Supergirl. Kara superspeeds to a chocalate doughnut and Alex runs to grab a strawberry. 

"Thank you so much Nia!" Kara says as she stuffs the doughnut in her mouth. 

"Yeah, it's no problem. Brainy burnt the bacon at home so it was the perfect excuse. So you should be thanking Brainy."

"No, you shall not be thanking me," I say, "The apartment will smell like burnt bacon for the next 23 hours. Yvette is staying at her boyfriends house until it's gone."

"Speaking of that, can we crash somewhere?" The elevators open and they reveal Lena. Lena is wearing a dark purple suit along with a vest. She looks at Nia and says, 

"You two can stay with me. I have the extra space, it really is no problem."

"Thank you Lena." I say, as I grab the box of doughnuts and walk over to her. "A doughnut for your generosity?" Lena grabs a chocolate doughnut and goes to the table. 

'I was up late last night trying to figure out where Henry Long lives, and he now lives in Metropolis. He works IT at the Daily Planet," Lena says as the elevator opens again to reveal Kelly and Esme. Esme runs up to J'onn yelling "Grandpa!" Kelly is wearing a simple light blue dress and Esme is in overalls. J'onn swoops Esme up and hugs her. 

"Hello Esme," He says. 

"We are just stopping by before I drop her off at daycare," Kelly says. 

"Yea, we were about to head to Metropolis," Kara replies.

"What do you mean by we? Alex and I have a meeting with a preschool for Esme."

"We as in Lena and I. Nia, you need to head to Catco and let Ms. Grant know I'll be gone for today."

"Brainy, you need to go to the DEO, your in charge. Apparently I have a meeting with some preschool people." Alex says as she waves her arm of the soldier making her DEO uniform turn into a long sleeve grey shirt with jeans. J'onn sets Esme down and Esme goes to Lena and hands her a picture. "Come on Esme, we gotta go." Alex states. Esme runs to Alex and Alex holds her hand as Esme, Kelly and Alex leave. 

"You ready for Metropolis?" Kara asks Lena. 

"No, wait. I have a idea and in order to see if it's right we have to go see someone."

"Who?" Kara asks.

"Eve Tessmacher."

EVES PERSPECTIVE

I finish my cupcake batter when I hear a knock at the door. 

"I am coming!" I say as I rush to the door. I open my door to see two people I have seen before. "Ms. Danvers, Ms. Luthor, what a surprise!"

"Hey, Eve,"  Ms. Luthor says coldly as she enters my apartment. 

"Did I do something?" I ask as I step back.

"What do you know about kryptonite hearts?" Ms. Danvers asks. 

"What are those?"

"My brother paid for your apartment, and I didn't kill you when I had the chance. You owe me this." Lena stares at me coldly, she truly looks just like Lex, except for the beard, baldness and constant deception. I answer her questions honestly. I do owe her this, she pays my rent every month as restitution for what her brother did to me. She also pays for the armed body guards that stand in front of my mother's house door just so I can have some peace of mind. 

"I honestly have no clue what you mean Ms. Luthor. "

"Lena, back off. She doesn't know, she is telling the truth. Thank you Eve." Kara pulls Lena away from me and exits the apartment. I listen to their conversation. 

"What was your endgame Lena?"

"I was hoping she knew something from a past world."

"Are you saying that Otis is a Metallo?"

"Yes, that still happened in this world. He went into hiding after we sent Lex into the Phantom zone. I checked Lex's journals."

"So if we wanted to find Otis instantly all we had to do was to look for kryptonite? Seriously?"

"Hopefully." I hear a knock at the door. I open the door to see Lena give me a smirk. 

"We are aware that you heard all of that eavesdropper. Now good day!" Lena says as she walks down the hallway. I close my door and hear the familiar sound of the portal watch. 

"Off to Metropolis!" Kara exclaims.
