Memory Lane?

Wonder what's the power source if what Asch said was true...

'Memories are magic. No matter how unmemorable they seemed , they're yet part of yourself. Your success , your fails , your questions , their answers , they'll be found here.'
Beast said I turned my head to look around to find light blue crystals hung by the walls.

'The specific colours of the crystal was your memories. From when you're born to this day. You can feel free to share those memories , but I don't think you guys wanted to let them see your baby pictures and stuff..'
Beast said with a bit joking tone-

Wait- I turned to Rhys who's just holding the guidebook instead of reading it. She was actually talking to us?

Am I the only one who noticed-

"Hold on , you're actually talking to us?!"

Guess I'm not the only one now....

'Indeed , I was , Asch. I used magic here , and only by this location , as it was much more easier for Rhys to not use his precious throat to read stuff out loud.' I looked at Beast as I noticed her blood trickling down from her gripped tight hand. I saw those scenes before , when a mage or magic user overused magic , their blood vessel will explode quietly , leaking out from their fingertips. This was the exact scene....

But why was her blood purple?

I read books about gods blood being red with gold sparkles , as it represent the rank of being higher than royalty. I took a closer look to observe to only find , within the purple blood , brings a small tint of red and small amount of gold sparkle hidden under the drop of blood.

She was exiled as she mentioned once. However , it must meant that she still have the pure blood of a goddess. But not only till this day that she have not reveal the title she was holding upon , she have not speak a word , reveal even a single bit of her face , excluding her lips. I can't recall any goddess with long green hair and who wore a skull of a creature during specific occasions.

Hiding her own identity wasn't really much the best of all solution to her problems. This will deepened his majesty's trust issues. It's definitely not helping her to let us trust her.

I ignored the current situation as I have decided to take a look at my memories. I looked at the crystals , from me as a baby to a teenager. My life was most likely non-stop training , as I was meant to a fighter , in order to survive in this world. But it didn't help me much on the mental fact as I watched young me saving a creature from a fallen branch.

It brought me to the day where I was General of Daemos , followed by becoming Asch's knight , then to Ear-th , then here....

Wait-

There's something not right about this!

I returned to the crystal of me being kind , found a figure behind a tree.

It was none other but Beast.

She was seemingly spying on me. W-Why was she doing this? Why does she kept an eye on me? Another thing was , why didn't I notice her existence?

"Pierce?"

I turned to Noi who's amazed this small memory piece of mine.

"You sure was a kind soul."

"Noi ," He looked up to me , "D-Does any memory pieces of yours , happened to have Beast in..?"

Noi looked at me shockingly , as he turned to Asch and the others. Knowing no one is hearing , he turned back to me , nodded. Why was he being scared with it?

"I-I have three of my memory pieces with her in it..."

I looked at him shockingly before returned to calm. At least there's one who have the same issue with me now.

"W-What the hell were you doing in my memory piece , Beast?!"

Well , guess we're not technically the only ones. I turned to Asch who's grabbing Beast by the cape , pulling her to his eye level , glaring at her deadly.

"Answer me , Monster!"

'I believe there's some misunderstanding in between. You would like to reconfirm with it?'
Beast spoke in her fake monotone magic made voice as Asch dropped her down to the ground to run back to his crystal to recheck.

"H-How come?! I saw you there spying on me with my own eyes!"

I looked back to my crystal to find , there's no more Beast there , only me and the creature. I looked at Beast who's only focusing on Asch with her lips in a....completely relieved look as it was then quickly shifted to her usual emotionless lips.

Wonder what makes her so....

'It might be your hallucination , you all shall be returning to the dining room , breakfast was possibly ready.'
Beast said as she guided out back to the platform where brought us a headache. Somehow , Rhys was the only one standing there alone , seemingly looking at his crystal.

Noi rubbed his hands , forming a small ball of lightning before sending to Rhys , gave him a shock there to wake him up.

"Rhys! Hurry up!"

"Y-Yeah , coming up!"

I looked at Rhys , noticed his guard was down. Was it something he noticed from his crystal? He didn't even bother to care if Beast was on his memory pieces.

"Rhys."

"Pierce? What wind blows you here?"
Rhys asked as he laid lazily on the bed , which wasn't something he would very much do. Unless , something was on his mind.

"What happened back in Memory Lane? It took Noi's small lightning ball magic to wake you up eventually."

"It-It's just that..."
Rhys said with his hands wrinkling his blanket , as he spoke ,

"When I look into my crystal , I didn't see me as a child , it starts by me meeting Lady Grandma and becoming her student for the first day."

Rhys's POV

"What- Have you mistaken?"

"There's no way I have mistaken my own past."
I claimed with a slightly angry tone. How could a person even forgot.... his... own... parents....?...

I don't have memories of my own parents... How?! I know I have! But how could I not even remember their faces?....

If I can't remember anything... Then what was even those memories of me learning basic magic from them? Even better question , who was the one I learned from? There's no way I just know them by miracle.

"I might or might not... forgotten or no memories of what my parents looked like..."

"How come?"

"I..don't know..."
I said while looking at the guidebook laying on my desk.

"What if we look for the answers ourselves?"

"I-I don't think it was the best of plan. Forgotten the hell creature that she summoned?"
I thought to myself about it as I realised that there's no such thing , as I legit ran out from my chamber late in night after the surprise journey with N.B.

"We'll be fine , I guarantee this. We will go tonight , I have the map with me."

"You really forgotten the fact we almost have our minds exploded when we're brought to Memory Lane?"

"Like what she said ," I said as I stood up with the guidebook I hand , opening it to locate the room to Memory Lane , "Questions can be resolved there. I wanted mine to be resolved."

"Are you with me , Pierce?"

He seemed hesitated as I knew he hated the feel to break the rules.

"You don't really have to do this if you feel bad with it-"

"I'll go with you."

I looked at him with my eyes widened.

"B-But the rules-"

"I only obey rules and orders from Prince Asch. Beast was none other than our trainer and host for this place."

I blinked my eyes before smiled and turned back to the map.

"Well then , we shall break rules for this day."
