Tella woke up to the sounds of birds chirping, the hustle and bustle of servants in the castle, and the faint chattering of the civilians below. She squinted at the light sliding carefully in through her huge windows (A/N The author apologizes for the inaccurate description of the room, it's been a long time since he/she has last read the book, and btw this is Tella's room in the castle.

She smiled, thinking it was the perfect day for pranking some servants or teasing the boring librarians downstairs. That was until she realized what day it was. The day straight after her sister's coronation. Tella groaned, and rolled around on her bed, wishing that she wasn't the only sister to the empress so she could be free to do whatever she liked. Tella sighed and sat up groggily. Grumpy she had to get up and walk across the castle to access Legend. Just thinking about him made her heart perk up, her mind go crazy, and adrenalin flow throughout her body. Tella practically hopped out of bed. Before, she'd believed the thought of Legend being possessive of her was enough but now? The idea of him loving her to the point of giving up immortality made her float.

"Your highness?" A servant's voice floated into Tella's room, jerking her from her delicious daydreams.

"Yes?" Tella replied rather hurriedly, wishing that the servant would just get this over with so she could go and meet Legend.

The door creaked open, and a servant appeared, looking more scared than she should have. Tella smiled, knowing very well how the rumors had spread throughout the castle. How the dark, handsome, tattooed man who now lived within the castle was Caraval Ringmaster, Legend. How he'd enchanted the entirety of Elantine (AN I'm sorry I seriously can't remember the name of the Empire 😂) to believe he was the heir to the throne, how he'd fallen in love with Tella, fallen enough to be willing to give up his immortality for her. And should anyone displease her, then all should pity the one who did so, for Legend wouldn't hesitate at all to bring his full wrath upon them.

"His former handsomeness" Tella snapped out of her memories and glared at the servant-girl, deciding that she no longer felt any compassion towards her, "has sent you a gift."

Tella peeked out of her bedroom, glancing up and down the halls before she tried to sneak towards the dining room to grab a waffle or something. Keyword tried to.

"What are you doing?" A low and annoyingly familiar voice sounded behind her. Tella spun around annoyed, but she found that she just couldn't stay so when faced with Legend.

"Oh, you know, just trying to get some food before I starve to death!" Tella snapped, (Sorry if it's OOC) her breath hitching in her throat.

Legend smiled at her wickedly, "Then why don't you wear something less, noticeable?" He asked, eyes glimmering. Oh, he so knows the answer, Tella thought to herself, as Legend leaned close to her, his hands wrapped around her waist, tipping her head up so that her lips were just centimeters away from his, and started to close the distance, his breath brushing against her lips, before...

HA! Got you! Anyway, that'll be it for today! I hope that you've enjoyed this little taster of what I've got in store for you with this new, edited version of my story. Stay tuned for more edits of the following chapters, along with a few one-shots (I'm honestly considering making Chapter 4 or 3 one-shots, or deleting them entirely.) Stay obsessed with Caraval!
