16. Festivites, Auctions, and Daniel Kim's Harem??

I continued wandering around the festival aimlessly, striking a conversation with whoever was down to listen. "Hey, Y/N-" Jace waves from Afar. "What are you doing? Get over here with the rest of us."

"Pfft, as if I'm an architecture dept." I walked over as I read their sign. Vasco was going guy after guy, tanking through all the rounds of arm wrestling." "God, Vasco looks like he's constipated." I stood next to Jace. "Sure, he's been at this since the festival started." Jace responded. We both exchanged a look of worry as another tear fell down Vasco's Face. "Say, why don't we try something else-" I tried. "Hm. What ideas do you have?" Jace looked at me.

"WHAT MADE YOU POSSIBLY THINK THIS WOULD WORK?!" Jace screeched at me from his place in the water bomb board. "NO ONE HAS DONE A SINGLE THING IN 30 MINUTES! MY NECK IS ABOUT TO SNAP!!!!" From beside him, Vasco Kept up his friendly smile as Woong looked like he was near tears. "Well, it's funny you ask, Jace old pal. I originally got this idea from the idol boards with cutouts at their concerts, where you can stick your head through and take photos for Instagram-"

"I DONT ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT YOUR INSPIRATIONS, IM ASKING WHY YOU THOUGHT THIS WOULD WORK-" jeez, no need to be so harsh. I could almost feel my temper rising up. "Hey, look here- I'm just trying to be the good honorary member I am!" "THEN DO IT!" Vasco looked around uncomfortably- or at least, he turned his head as much as he could in his little cardboard hole, trying his best to look at me and then Jace. "Is that fighting I'm hearing? We don't fight in Burn Knuckles." He let out, his voice slightly muffled from his throat caught up at the cardboard. Damn, should've cut those holes bigger.

Suddenly, a crowd gathered around the main stage. All 4 of the voluntary burnt knuckles members turned as best they could to look-

"Hello everyone!" Some guy in a man- bun stood on the stage. He was pretty cute- in a, uh, wannabe gangster kind of way. Vasco started struggling beside me: "Help- me- get out- I have to go up there-" "huh? You? For what?" "I'm being auctioned". I turned my head fast enough to get whiplash. "HUH?!"

"HA- move your head- No, to the right, Vasco- VASCO-" I yanked as hard as I could on the cardboard around his neck, making him Yelp. Beside me stood that little shit Jace, who just watched in smugness. "You have to learn that there's consequences to your actions." Jace explained. "yeah, and the consequences will be Vasco being DECAPITATED if you don't help me-"

"GAH-" with one last pull, the mutilated cardboard finally came off Vasco's head. "Just in time, Genius." Jace pointed at the stage. "Next, from the architecture dept-" the Bun- Man announced. Quickly, Vasco scurried over. "Poor Guy. He looks nervous". "Maybe because you almost strangled him." "Shut your damn trap, Woong."

"No bids?" The Host started. "Okay, it seems that the Architecture dept has failed to gain any funds~" Ah, Dammit- Vasco looked like he was about to cry. I can't just let the burn knuckles go down like this, not our great leader's ego. What am I even thinking- who cares. Don't get cocky, Y/N, you barely have the cash to eat today-

"200!" H u h. I looked up. My hand was raised. Everyone stared at me. From the corner of my eye, I could see Jace's surprise. Man- Bun also looked shocked- Vasco stared with a look of admiration.

"Who is that-"
"Y/N. Fashion Dept."
"Isn't she a part of that gang?"
"I always thought they were an item-"

Vasco was now a deep shade of red. "Alright, Host, are you taking the offer or not?" I yelled, trying to hide my own embarrassment. He suddenly snapped out his trance, hand tightening on the microphone. "Oh, yes- of course- 200, sold to Ms. Y/N!" How does this creep know my name?? I barely had time to think before I caught a face in the crowd, sticking out like a sore thumb with that black and yellow stripe. "Gun." I whispered underneath my breath. "Huh?" Jace seemed to have catched it.

He stared back at me, with an expression half masked by his sunglasses, but one I knew how to read from my years with him and Goo. He looked confused- and very, very pissed. Crystal seemed to be with him too, her also staring at me in confusion. I turned away. Who did they even think they were? Bet she's just here to make fun of me all over again. All of them.

"Alright, next, Fashion Dept's Daniel Kim!" The crowd instantly exploded into whispers and gasps as Daniel walked onto the stage. If I wasn't so busy being intimidated by Gun and Crystal, I would be bragging to everyone around me that I taught that kid how to dress. Or Jay did, but still. THATS MY BOY! "I knew the response would be amazing! This is the highlight of the day!!" Bun- Man practically had dollar signs in his eyes. Suddenly, his face twisted into horror. "Huh?" I turned around.

"Ho, Ho!" Some private school girl said. "Hot talents this year too!" With that, the Bun man almost completely lost it. He was shaking in his boots as he whispered something to Daniel, who also turned Pale. From the stands, the music stopped as The DJ fainted. Dramatic ass Bitches. I could hear faint whisperes from the Bun man- "I'm just saying... if she buys you, RUN."

Suddenly, an arm yanked me out of the crowd."Hey, what-" I tried to pull back, shoving the person who grabbed me off and away. "Who the hell do you think you- J...Jay??" Jay looked around nervously. "!!!!!" What- bid? On DaniEl?? I don't have that money- besides, dating him?" "!!!!!!" Jay was even more anxious now. "!!!!!!" "You- you'll provide the funds?? Are you saying you want to date Daniel?!" "?!?!?" "Oh, you're just scared he'll get taken by- her. Good point. He looks like he's about to pass out. But- I just bid for Vasco..."

Jay stared at me with a depressed look. God- if Daniel dies from this, we'll all be responsible. "Alright. Fine."

"One thousand dollars." Lala, the private school girl raised her hand smugly. "One thousand??" "No way... Daniel!!" "Ugh!" The crowd burst into chatter again. Not far from us, Zoe shrieked to the floor. Jay tapped on me quickly. " I know, I know. Jeez." I raised my hand. "One thousand five hundred." I bid.

If the crowd wasn't on fire before, it sure was now. Chatter of me trying to take both Daniel and Vasco spread. Woah, am I the drama at this school?? I don't think I'm the drama.

"Fine. 2 k." Lala bud, hand slightly shaking. Fuck, that's our the budget Jay set... from beside me, Jay shoved, clearly telling me to keep going. Maybe I should... he probably gets 20 grand just for a month's allowance. Yeah. It's fine. He won't miss this money.

"Two thousand five hundred." Someone suddenly interrupted. That voice. Crystal. Was she- into Daniel?? No. She was just trying to save him, that seems like something in her wheelhouse of moral justice. But... couldn't I just do it? Suddenly, I saw the look on Gun's face.

Oh. He looked like he was about to snap my neck. I tried to decipher his look again- snorting to myself. Of course, this was about that conversation. Gun's version of the birds and the bees. God, kill me. I tried to remember. What happened. I think I can, but- I tried-

Don't tell me this was about that.

I felt my blood pressure rise. Who did he think he was- who did he.. wait. What. What did happen? Why was he so angry? What happened? What's going on- I saw the crowds move, saw Lala bid again. Everything was so loud, the chatter, the microphone, the way that man beside Crystal stared at me. Why was he staring at me, dammit- Crystal bid. The final bid number is called. Why did he stare, why, was he even looking? I couldn't see his eyes through his thick sunglasses. I tried to read his expression, to see what he wanted, but I couldn't see a thing.

"Y/N-" someone called out. I turned around. "What are you even thinking? Jace looked at me. "And why does that guy keep staring at you? Is he a creep- come on, let's go get Vasco and the gang." "No, that's not it." "I started. "That's- that's.." my brain blanked out again. "That's- I know him. That's it." Gun. It was gun. My Trainer, my teacher. My- my brother. That's it. "You completely blanked out." Jace started. "Like you're deep in concentration. And you never think." "Hey- that's rude as hell-" I started, but seeing Crystal and Gun walk off, I quickly waved goodbye to Jace to catch up to them, despite Jace's protests fading away as I ran.

"What, you think you're just so hot? What's wrong with her?" Crystal scared with disgust at Daniel. "I think you're deluded. You think I bought you Because I liked you? I wouldn't have done it if I- didn't absolutely need to." I couldn't tell if I was actually understanding or if I was still disoriented- isn't that how the auction works?

"Anyhow," Crystal ended. "Don't treat others like that just because you're handsome. Let's go." She turned into the car as Gun shut the door. "I'll be right here." Gun said to her. "You." I almost shrieked as he turned right to my hiding spot behind the stage. "Move it." Daniel turned to me in confusion. "Y/N?"

"Alright, alright. Sorry for eaves dropping. I'll get out of here." I raised my hands up in innocence. He raised an eyebrow. "No. Get in the car. You can't handle this. I'm dragging you home before you make an even bigger fool out of yourself."

Bonus:
"Too slow. You're too slow." Gun shot his fist at me in lightning speed, over and over all as I tried to keep him from hitting me, and as I tried to land a few more hits. Finally, a side punch of his slipped by my arm's weak attempt o block, and hit me right in the chest. I fell right to the floor, wincing in the dead pain. "It's all In the legs, Y/N. Move faster. Be better. If you stay this slow, the president won't hesitate to get rid of you. I wouldn't either, you know." "Easy for you to say." I mumbled. "You're just different." Gun snorted. "I go easy on you, all the time, be grateful, not useless."

Trying to get the attention away from gun's smug face, I looked around as some of the posters caught my eye. The Boxing room of the mansion was always filled with posters of MMA fighters and boxers, thanks to Kouji and Goo's shared obsession. I hadn't looked closely at them, until then- bunches of muscular men, all posing together, and-

"What are you staring at." Gun's face suddenly blocked my view, causing me to jump back. "You're 14, Y/N. You're too young to get distracted by boys. Actually, it's preferable that that never happens. You're not together with a guy, are you? You know what protection is, don't you??" "Gun, SHUT UP-" I gagged at his genuine concern. "You're- god. I'm not- I was just looking-" he yanked me up to my feet. "Good. And you better be telling the truth." He tilted his sunglasses down ever so slightly, so I could see the stare he gave me. "You're not to date until you figure out how to fight first. There's more important skills in life than making out with a guy." "What- wh-" "that's a command from your instructor. Unless you're volunteering to get eliminated, Y/N. By that, I mean I'll personally beat you to death."

He stared at me, asking if I understood with his eyes. "Look at you. Don't stare back at me." He flicked me on the forehead. "It's better if you don't think about love too soon. Goo did- and look how he turned out." "But-" "I'm not asking your you to give your opinion. I'm telling you."

"Ms. Han. I just ask that you bid over her, before Y/N goes again. That kid has no idea how money works- or commands." "Gun. Don't be ridiculous. You look like you're about to throw a fit." "I am. It's all I ask."

"...fine. But it's coming out your pay."
