A month and a half later:

Pov Sarah:

This month went well, I worked in the shop all month and decided to stay home today because I'm exhausted.

I just turned 22 weeks and so far everything is good, the terrible period of nausea is finally over, but the fatigue and dizziness will stay with me until the end of the pregnancy,

Today I have the half way appointment (even though i'm 22 and not 20) and also the gestational diabetes test, I'm really stressed if I have gestational diabetes it means I'm high risk pregnancy and that means I have to stay at home all the time, not work and I'll have even more dizziness and headaches, but Still with all this I try to think positively I remember I am raising our baby and it will all be worth it in the end when the baby will be here.
John B and I could find out the gender of the baby a month ago.
and we decided that we will find out today. I'm really curious I really hope it will be a girl, but of course health is the most important thing. John B still thinks it's a boy, but I have a strong feeling that it's a girl.
My ultrasound is at 1pm, John B works at the shop and he supposed to be back home in three hours so we can go for the appointment,

I try not to think about my father, but this month I had a lot of breakdowns and it was hard physically and mentally, after each breakdown I would stay in bed and not get out of it for the rest of the day and it affected me in every way, probably it happens from the hormones that are driving me crazy but I feel it's more than just hormones.
I'm not mad at Wizzy i'm disappointed in her, yes I trusted her and I was so happy that we got back in touch but it hurt my trust in her and that's why I'm disappointed in her. I don't even want to think what Rafe thinks about it, I'm moving on without Rafe and without my father, they are no longer a part of me and I don't want them in my life anymore.

John B pov:

I just finished work I'm on the way to pick up Sarah for her ultrasound,
The last month was not the best , she had a lot of breakdowns
Because she took a lot on herself and then it just all came out, I hope she feels better today, in the morning she seemed to be doing well,

Today we find out the gender of the baby and I'm really excited about it, I know Sarah wants a girl but I think it's going to be a boy but the main thing is that he or she will be healthy that's what really matters.

She also has the test for gestational diabetes and I can tell she is stressed and anxious about it, to be honest me too, I don't want it to be more difficult for her than it already is but I know she will deal with it, she is the strongest person I know.

I arrived home an hour before the appointment because as I know Sarah she is probably a sleep and forgot about the appointment so to give her time to get ready I came earlier,

I entered our room and as I thought Sarah was sleeping.
I hugged her from behind and kissed her shoulder "Hey Sarah time to get up" I whispered to her and she groaned
"what time is it ?" She said in a sleepy voice still with her eyes closed, "It's 12pm" I answered I put my hand on her stomach and noticed she wasn't awake yet "Baby you have an ultrasound today remember?" I said softly, "Oh, is it today?" She said and I smiled, "Yes, we talked about it this morning, remember?" I said and grinned "Oh yeah it is today"
She smiled, opened her eyes and turned to the other side so we were face to face "Hi" I whispered and kissed her softly "Hi" she smiled, "Are you excited about today?" I asked, "Yes, and you'll see it's going to be a girl," she said and I smiled, "You're wrong, it's a boy," she shook her head and laughed.
"Come on, get up, do you want to eat something?" I asked as I help her get up, "I can't before the test, I have to fast for two hours before the test because of the sugar overload" she told me, "Okay then go get dress and we'll leave in forty minutes" I quickly kissed her And she went to get dressed.

We arrived to the doctor's office and we are waiting for Doctor Kate to arrive, Sarah took my hand and held it tight , "Is everything okay?" I asked looking at her, She nodded and put her head on my shoulder, I was about to say something but just then Doctor Kate entered the office,
"Hey guys, sorry I'm a little late," Kate said and sat down across from us, "It's okay," Sarah said quietly,

"How are you Sarah?" Kate asked,

"I'm fine, the nausea has finally passed, it's much easier without it" she answered as she stroked her stomach,

"Yes, now this is the easier part of pregnancy so take advantage of it,
We'll do another ultrasound today and you want to find out the gender of the baby today?" Dr. Kate asked and they nodded,
"Do you have any guesses?" Kate was interested "I think it's a boy but Sarah thinks it's going to be a girl" I told her "A mother's senses are never wrong..." Doctor Kate said and we laughed.

"Okay then, after the ultrasound we'll do a sugar test to see if you have gestational diabetes and according to the test results we'll know if you need to have blood tests, if you got more than 140 then we will have to do three blood tests with half an hour intervals between each one, this test takes time so you will have to be here for two hours so let's not waste time and get started! Sarah, lie down here please" Kate explained and pointed to the bed,

Sarah lay on the bed and lifted her shirt, Kate applied the gel to her stomach and our beautiful baby appeared on the screen, every ultrasound  I get excited about it,
Hearing the heartbeat and seeing our baby on the screen it's too beautiful,
Sarah started to tear up but the smile didn't leave her face, I caressed her hair and kissed her head, The room was filled with the sound of the baby's heartbeat
And some tears fell from my eyes, I looked at Sarah and smiled at her.
"Everything looks good, your baby is healthy and strong, let's see the gender of the baby..." Kate said and she moved the probe over Sarah's stomach to just make sure,
"Okay, so congratulations to you two you are going to have...."

"A GIRL!! Congratulations!!"

Sarah started to cry again and so did I,
"Oh my god we're having a girl!" Sarah said smiling still crying,
I couldn't resist and kissed her, "I can't believe it! You were right" I said wiping the tear that fell from my eye.

After the ultrasound and this emotional moment we sat back down,
"Okay Sarah I need you to drink this" Kate said and brought Sarah a glass of water with powder in it, "Okay just what is it?" Sarah asked confused, "It's water with some kind of substance that is supposed to balance your sugar in your body" Doctor Kate explained,
Sarah took a sip from the glass and she looked like she is about to throw up, "Is it disgusting?" I asked her rubbing her back, "It's gross..." she said, "I know it's really bad, but try to finish everything, I'm going to get something, I'll be back in a moment." Doctor Kate left the room, Sarah drank everything And she put her hand on her chest trying to balance her breathing so she wouldn't throw up
"you good?" I asked her, "I'm fine" she answered, Sarah hates to show that she's suffering, she was the same thing when Rafe shot her, she didn't show that she was in pain,
I put my hand on her thigh trying to calm her down,
"Is it over?" She nodded and Dr. Kate entered the room,
"Ok Sarah, now I'll check your sugar level, it's just a little stab, it doesn't hurt at all, just bring me your finger"
Sarah did as Kate said and Kate did to Sarah a small prick in her finger and took a drop of her blood and put it in a small device and then it beeped announcing that there were results
"As I thought, your sugar level is 180, much higher than 140, I need you to go to room 4, there is a nurse there, she will do your blood tests"
"Ok, thank you bye" Sarah and I said and left the office.

We entered the room and there was a nurse waiting for us, "Hey! I'm Nurse Riley I'll do your blood tests" the nurse introduced herself and Sarah sat down, "Okay Sarah bring me your hand"
She took out a needle and Sarah recoiled, "scared of needles?" the nurse asked and Sarah nodded, "don't worry, just don't look at the needle and it will pass before you feel it" The nurse told her, but Sarah didn't listen to her and kept looking at her hand
"Hey Sarah look at me, it won't hurt" I tried to calm her down, she didn't say anything just held my hand and closed her eyes, "Three two one..."
The nurse counted and inserted the needle, "Shit" Sarah whispered
Out of pain, "Just a few more seconds and you're done."

After a minute the nurse removed the needle from Sarah's hand
And Sarah let out a sigh of relief,
"Come back in half an hour and we'll take another blood test, I know it's not the most fun thing to do but you were great" the nurse also tried to encourage Sarah.

After the three blood tests, Sarah was exhausted, she felt really weak and dizzy, but the doctor said it was normal and common in this test,
We went into Dr. Kate's office to hear you the results of the test Kate checked and typed a few things on her computer and then said
"Okay, so Sarah, you have gestational diabetes..." Sarah's look immediately changed and she looked down, " Hey Sarah listen I know it's not the most great thing to hear, yes, it will be a little more difficult, but you'll be fine, I'm sure.
I want you at home and resting as much as possible, you In a high-risk pregnancy, you can't work or lift heavy things, and every time you feel dizzy or have a headache, you do a home test that I'll bring you in a minute and you take insulin
You do the test before a meal or an hour after you eat, it's really simple, I'll make you a short guide
And if you have any problem, call us, okay?'
Kate explained and Sarah nodded.

We returned home after a very long day, Sarah is really tired and she doesn't feel good because of the blood tests,

"Do you want to tell everyone about the gender?" I asked her when we entered the house, "Let's do it tomorrow? I'm super tired" she said quietly ,stroking her stomach back and forth "yes of course , go to sleep I'm here if you need anything" I kissed her softly and hugged her, "thank you", "you don't need to thank me, you deserve it all" she looked at me and kissed me once more time
"I love you," she whispered, "I love you too."
"Good night, I'll join you in a sec" I said and she went to our room.
