Chapter fifteen
Memory Lane

Ivy spent the whole day contemplating what to do next, Austin made it clear not to go to the police and by the looks of it he's been following her all day so he'd more than likely know if she told the sheriff what was happening. Caitlin was sitting on the couch watching the news when Ivy walked in.

"Okay I need you to listen to me carefully because there's been something I've kept to myself for a while now and I can't hide it anymore" Ivy spoke as she shut the door behind her.

Ivy spent the next hour explaining her whole relationship with Austin and everything he's been doing to her ever since, Caitlin sat and comforted her best friend as she relived a part of her life she tried so hard to forget.

"You can't meet up with him alone tonight" Caitlin spoke as Ivy shook her head.

"I'm not going to be on my own you're coming with me... you can take my car and slowly follow us just make sure you don't get to close to his car because he'll notice, we can talk about the whole thing and plan everything out but first I've to make a few calls" Ivy spoke as she got up from the sofa and made her way into the bedroom.

"Ivy have you found her" her dad spoke on the other end of the line.

"Dad I've really messed up... I should have told people sooner but I never in a million years thought he'd be capable of something like this" she cried as her dad began to speak.

"Ivy I need you to calm down and tell me what's going on" Hotch spoke as voices filled the room.

"Are you in the office" Ivy asked.

"Yes the whole team are here" he spoke as Ivy thought for a moment.

"Okay put me on speaker" she asked as her dad did what he was told

"I need help... I can't do this on my own. Olivia was kidnapped she didn't just vanish of the face of the earth Austin took her, most of you don't know who Austin is and I'm really sorry I didn't tell you all sooner but I was embarrassed of how far I let our relationship go. I met Austin two years ago, he used to buy me flowers all the time and take me out for dinner most nights... everything was going really well until he began to get jealous over the smallest of things like if I was to talk to a boy from my class or talk to one of his friends he'd just lose it" Ivy explained as everyone on the other end of the line stayed quiet.

"Ivy we're all listening... take you're time" Spencer spoke reassuringly down the phone.

"Our relationship escalated pretty quickly after that. Austin stayed over at mine most nights because he said he couldn't trust me to not go out and flirt with another guy, he would take my phone and look through all of my texts, he'd make sure I only wore what he wanted me to wear and everything was just getting too much for me. I constantly felt like I was walking on eggshells around him... it got to a point were I felt like I deserved to feel like this he made me feel worthless and horrible about myself" she spoke quietly as she took a minute to calm herself down.

"It continued like that for months until we went to this party one night and I was talking to a group of people from one of my classes and Austin thought I was all over one of the boys I was talking to... I wasn't I was just having a normal conversation with him but Austin didn't see it like that. When we got back to my apartment he began screaming at me and breaking anything he could get his hands on... I'd never seen him like that before and I was scared but I didn't want him to think he could talk to me like that so I said some things that he really didn't like a... and then he grabbed me up by the neck until I physically felt like I was dying... he eventually let me drop to the floor but right before he left he kicked me right into the stomach" she explained as she remembered that night over and over again.

"I didn't hear from him for awhile but I kept getting unknown phone calls and texts and letters left for me at my front door, he was obsessed and I didn't feel safe staying there for much longer so I told my dad everything that happened and I got on the next flight back home that's why I was back from university early. Austin hasn't stopped calling and texting me since that night it's been about a year now and it feels like he just keeps getting more and more obsessed. I went out today looking for Olivia I tried to retrace her steps and I found one of her earrings I bought her for her birthday last year on the ground in some alleyway and just when I pick it up I get a phone call from an unknown number... long story short he took her and now he wants me to meet him later on my own and he'll drive me to wherever he's keeping her" Ivy finished as everyone took in what she had just said.

"Under no circumstances are you to meet with him alone" Hotch spoke firmly as Emily interrupted him.

"How likely is he to hurt her" she asked as Ivy thought for a moment.

"As far as I know he hasn't done anything like this before but lately he's been unpredictable so i honestly can't say he wouldn't hurt her and I'm not going to let that happen" Ivy answered.

"Listen to me you don't know what he's capable of... do not meet him alone tonight" Hotch spoke loudly.

"I'm not going alone I have a plan and I need all the help I can get. Caitlin will take my car and follow slowly behind us, she'll take down the exact location and she'll go straight to the sheriff station. I won't be on my own with him for very long but if I don't do this dad he could hurt her and that would be my fault" she spoke as Derek began to speak.

"None of this is you're fault Ivy absolutely none of it" he reassured the girl.

"I should have realized what was happening sooner and I didn't so that is my fault and I'm going to fix it" Ivy spoke as Caitlin walked into her bedroom.

"Ivy someone rang me looking for you... I have the call on mute " she spoke as Ivy looked up at her.

"Is it him" she asked as Caitlin nodded.

"Stay calm when you're talking to him Ivy don't let him think you're afraid" Spencer spoke gently as the girl handed her phone to Caitlin.

"Hello who is this" Ivy spoke confidently into the phone as she put it on speaker for everyone on the other line to hear.

"You know who it is Ivy now I just wanted to warn you before you try to do anything stupid... I always have the upper hand so I just wanted to make myself clear if you so much as speak to me in a tone I don't like I'll hurt Olivia and don't get me started on what I'll do if you tell a single person about our plan for tonight do I make myself clear" Austin spat down the phone.

"Yes I understand... I won't tell anyone I swear but Austin I need you to do me a big favor and I know I have no right to ask you for anything after everything I've put you through but could I just hear Olivia voice so that I know she's okay please" she begged as Austin agreed.

"Ivy... are you there" Olivia cried as Ivy's breath quickened.

"Olivia thank god you're okay... listen to me I'm coming to get you okay everything is going to be okay I promise" Ivy spoke quietly as she heard Olivia sob from the other end of the line.

"You can't come here okay he'll kill you... he's killed multiple women already Ivy and he won't think twice about murdering you as well and I won't let that happen to you" she spoke as Ivy's mind began to race.

"What do you mean he's murdered multiple women already" Ivy questioned.

"He's murdered three girls that look similar to you Ivy he's dangerously obsessed with you... he's on his way back down the stairs now but Ivy I mean it do not come here I'll find a way out myself but can you do me a huge favor and tell Emily that I love her so much" Olivia spoke quietly.

"Of course I'll tell her Olivia but you can tell her yourself when I get you out of there" Ivy spoke confidently.

"Times up" Austin shouted as a door slammed in the distance.

"Now I'll see you tonight at nine o'clock I'll send you the address to meet me" he spoke.

"Okay perfect and thank you Austin for letting me speak to her that means a lot to me" Ivy spoke softly.

"Of course Ivy you know I'd do anything for you" he said right before he hung up the phone. Ivy took a moment before handing the phone back over to Caitlin.

The sound of Caitlin crying quietly pounded in Ivy's ears, everything around her was spinning as she thought of the girls he'd murdered just because they looked like her.

"Ivy please listen to me" her dad spoke from across the room.

"Dad I'm not going to let her die... you'd do the same if you were in my position" she answered as Hotch began to speak.

"We're getting on the jet right now okay we won't be too long so just wait on us to get there and we'll do this together" he pleaded.

"By the time you're here she'll probably be dead because I didn't show up and I'm not willing to take that risk and I'm sure Emily isn't either" Ivy spoke loudly as everyone on the other line remained quiet.

"Ivy listen to me and listen carefully... you meet him and you do as he says keep him relaxed make him feel like you care about him, you need to be alert at all times okay as you said you won't be with him for long because we will find you both I promise" Emily reassured her.

"Okay then it's agreed I'll see you all soon" Ivy spoke but just as she was going to hang up the phone Spencer began to speak.

"Ivy I need you to be careful okay because the last time I nearly lost you and I can't go through that again" he spoke quietly as Ivy smiled to herself.

"I'll be as careful as I possibly can be because we still haven't gone on our first date yet and I refuse to die before I get to see that" she replied.

"I promise that after this whole nightmare is done we'll go on our first proper date... how does dinner, movies and a drive on the beach sound" he asked her as she contemplated what he had said.

"It sounds cliché and normal which is perfect for me... I'm looking forward to it Spence" she answered as the voices on the other end of the phone grew louder.

"We're boarding the jet now we won't be long but as I said be careful Ivy... we'll be there soon" Spencer spoke as Ivy said her goodbyes and hung up the phone.

Ivy understood the risk she was taking going to meet Austin but if it was the other way around Olivia would do it for her, she just hoped she wasn't making a huge mistake.
