Chapter seven
Revelations part one

Everyone made it back to BAU as quickly as possible, Ivy and Spencer had made it back before the rest of them so she began to make coffee for everyone because most of them had a good few drinks tonight and they needed to sober up fast.

"You know it never fails just as I'm getting my grove thing going bam we're back at the BAU" Derek spoke the moment he entered the room.

"You know statistically a case doesn't come in with any more frequency if you're at a party or gathering then if you aren't it's a trick of the mind we merrily remember the ones that came in that way more" Spencer explained as everyone smiled in his direction.

"Besides is it really that hard for you to get you're grove thing going again" Emily joked as Penelope began to laugh.

Gideon made his way into the room as Ivy handed him a cup of coffee.

"Thank you Ivy you're a life saver" he spoke as he took his jacket off.

Ivy smiled and sat down beside Spencer and Emily as Hotch began to speak to Gideon.

"Where we're you tonight" he asked as Gideon faced towards the screen.

"Yeah you missed a good night" Emily joined into the conversation.

"I had a good night" Gideon replied bluntly.

"Not nearly as good as Derek's night" Ivy joked as the rest of the team began to laugh.

"Princess you know how much I love you but seriously you're begging to irritate me" Derek laughed as Ivy looked at him.

"I made you coffee and this is the thanks I get" Ivy exaggerated with a hand to her heart.

"Well our good night is definitely over" JJ spoke as she quickly made her way across the room and began to get photos up onto the screen.

"Georgia... the Kyles Dennis and Lacy we're murdered an hour ago in there suburban Atlanta home" she pulled up a news article that had just been released to the press.

"An hour ago" Hotch questioned.

"The police where on the scene unusually fast because the unsubs called them and told them that the killer was about to murder the victims" she answered.

"According to the dispatcher the first male sounded terrified and begged them to get there because the other who they both identified as Rafael was about to kill the sinners that lived there" JJ continued.

"The sinners" Ivy questioned as JJ nodded.

"The 911 center is going to send Garcia a copy of the tape" Penelope nodded as Spencer began to speak.

"How fast was the police response time" he reached for his notepad and pen and placed them on the table.

"Four minutes and twenty six seconds... during which Rafael did this" she answered as a bunch of crime scene photos filled the screen, Ivy hated looking at crime scene photos and she knew Penelope felt the same, Ivy was just better at hiding it.

"Also when they arrived at the scene the police found this displayed promptly on the bed" JJ switched the crime scene photos off the screen and uploaded a new photo of a highlighted passage of the Bible.

"Revelation chapter six verse A" Hotch spoke as Ivy thought for a moment.

"There killing sinners, these guys are on a mission" Derek said as everyone nodded along in agreement.

"Mission base killers will not stop killing" Ivy continued.

Everyone around the table sat in silence as they all individually read the passage to themselves to try and get a better understanding of why this was happening.

The mood on the plane was different then the other few cases Ivy had done with the team, this one felt more crucial. Everyone was tense and sat in silence reading over the case file. Ivy felt a bit out of her depth she'd always wanted to be apart of the BAU to follow in her dad's footsteps and she still felt like that but this one case made everything feel a hell of a lot more real.

"This is a bad one isn't it" Emily asked Derek as Ivy sat facing her dad.

"Unsubs with a cause are never good" he answered as Garcia told the team that she had just received the 911 call that was made by the unsub.

The 911 call was bizarre the first male to speak sounded frightened but the second male sounded sure and stern, unsubs never usually make a call to the police before commenting a crime.

"We'll unsub one definitely sounds frightened maybe he's doing this against his will" Emily spoke first.

Gideon shook his head "I doubt it... he whispered"

"He could have called out to save them instead of calling 911" Ivy spoke up as Hotch gave her a small smile.

"Not if he had a gun to his head" Derek debated as Gideon began to speak.

"If he has a gun to his head why would he have dialed 911" Gideon questioned.

"The second unsub said Rafael was going to kill someone is there a third" JJ asked.

"Referring to one's self in the third person is not uncommon for an unsub, Ted Bundy gave thoroughly detailed accounts of his murders but he never actually admitted to doing it he would just say the killer" Spencer spoke up from the back of the plane.

"We need to hit the ground running, JJ we need an insight picture of the victims... Victimology can be
critically important. Prentiss and Morgan go where the body's are examine the wounds they managed to kill two victims in four and a half minutes we need to know how. I'm going to set up at the Atlanta field office and go over case files from the state it would be highly unusual for a first kill to be this sufficient" Hotch ordered as everyone nodded in agreement.

"Ivy and Spencer come with me to the crime scene"
Gideon spoke as Ivy and Spence silently agreed.

"We land in less the an hour everybody try to get some rest" Hotch said before everyone got back in there seats and prepared themselves for what they were about to see.

The minute the plane landed everyone went there separate ways Ivy, Spencer and Gideon headed straight to the crime scene. Gideon was walking around the room trying to put himself in the unsubs shoes while Ivy was looking around to see exactly where everything happened, Spencer was telling the lead detective on the case statistics of some sort.
Ivy's work phone began to ring, on the other end of the line was Garcia.

"Are you at the crime scene" she asked seriously and for Penelope to answer her phone like that it meant something was wrong.

"Yeah why" Ivy asked and she looked at the others.

"Is there like a burgundy settee against one wall" she questioned.

"Em if by settee you mean a couch then yeah" Ivy answered as Penelope swore from the other end of the line.

"Why what's up" Ivy asked again as she put Garcia on speaker.

"I just got a viral video sent to me... I'm pretty sure it's a video of you're crime scene more pacifically Mr Kyle being murdered.

Ivy's face feel as she spoke "Garcia there's a video of this murder being posted on the internet"

"Shot from right across the room from the little couch" Garcia mumbled as Ivy thanked her and hung up the phone.

Ivy looked towards Gideon and Spencer as they approached an open computer on the nightstand across the room from the couch which only meant one thing... that the unsub was watching them all from the comfort of his own home.

All of the team gathered back up at the field office and watched the video the unsub took of the murder thoroughly as everyone gave there thoughts.

"So if this video came from that computers camera then what did the unsubs bring it with them" Hotch questioned.

"As far as I can tell this computer belonged to the Kyles... Garcia can do a better analysis but it has their bank statements, vacation photos" Ivy answered as she continued to look through the computer.

Ivy and JJ started looking at old case files to see if any details from this case match any others that have happened this year, they sat there for what felt like hours until JJ finally found something.

"Hotch I was looking for unsolved home invasions, 3 months ago there was a prowler called in directly outside the Kyles house" JJ spoke as she read through the rest of the case file.

"A prowler" Spencer questioned while eating his lunch.

"The witness was walking his dog in a near by park going back to his car he saw a man in dark clothing go over the back wall and start sneaking up to the house by the time the state police got there the prowler was gone" she answered as Hotch began to speak.

"Only one man" he asked as Ivy and JJ both shook there heads.

"Apparently" Ivy answered as she sat down on the chair opposite to Spencer.

"Was the witness able to describe him" Spencer asked as JJ looked down at the file in her hand.

"He did but it's not in this case file but I do have an address for the witness his name is Tobias Hankel he lives about an hour from here" she answered.

"It's a long shot but he might be able to give us a description why don't you three go out there and see if you can find Mr. Hankel and see if he remembers something" Hotch spoke as all three of them agreed.

Ivy, Spencer and JJ drove for over an hour, the drive was peaceful while Spencer wouldn't stop talking about a book he read the other night but Ivy enjoyed listening to him ramble it made her feel a hell of a lot more relaxed then she actually felt. They finally arrived at a old house with what looked like a huge barn at the back of it, all three of them got out of the car and made there way up to the front door. JJ knocked lightly to no avail so she knocked a little harder and eventually he opened the door slightly.

"Hi Mr. Hankel" she asked as he looked at all three of them.

"Eh yes" he spoke quietly.

"Mr. Hankel we're with the FBI I'm agent Jareau, this is agent Reid and this is agent Hotchner" she spoke confidently as she held up her credentials.

That was the first time Ivy had heard her name being called that way, it felt weird that it was exactly the same as her dads but she also felt confident for the first time since she started her internship, she finally felt like she had accomplished something.

"FBI" the man questioned as Ivy came back to reality.

"Eh may we come in" Spencer asked as the man pondered over what Spence had just asked.

"Em I'm sorry but I don't let anyone in the house" he answered as he looked behind him.

"I em actually really have to go" Spencer spoke awkwardly.

"You do since when" Ivy asked as he turned to look at her.

"Since about an hour ago do you mind" he asked the man as he shook his head.

"My father doesn't like it" he answered as Ivy gave him a weary look.

"Father... you're like thirty" Spencer spoke.

"At what age should one stop disrespecting the wishes of there parents" Tobias answered with a annoyed look on his face.

"You witnessed something a few months ago that might be very helpful to us" Ivy spoke up from behind Spencer.

"I did" Ivy's patience was really wearing tin with this man.

"Yes you did, you witnessed a man go over a wall into a backyard and you called the police" Ivy answered him as he looked her dead in the eyes.

"Me" he questioned as if he had no clue what she was talking about.

"You didn't" she asked as he shook his head.

"No sorry" he spoke adamantly.

"We'll is there another Tobias Hankel here" Ivy continued.

"No it's just me and my father Charles" Ivy looked towards JJ with a confused expression.

"There's a report on file that lists you as calling 911 while you were walking a dog" JJ added as he just shrugged his shoulders.

"That's wrong" he answered shortly as JJ just nodded her head.

"Oh well sorry to bother you" she smiled as Tobias began to shut the door.

"Are you sure I can't just use you're bathroom" Spencer asked again as Tobias closed the door over.

"That was weird why bother calling the police in the first place if you're just going to pretend you didn't" JJ spoke as Spencer came to a stop.

"To gauge the response time... if you're going to kill somebody but you wanted to call the police what would you need to know" he asked to no one in particular.

"How long it takes them to get there" Ivy answered as Spencer began running around to the back of the house.

"Reid what are you doing" JJ called as he stopped by a window.

JJ and Ivy stayed behind closer to the front of the house as Reid continued to stare in the window. Tobias came running out the back door and into the barn as Spencer began running towards him.

"Ivy.. JJ come on he's our unsub" he shouted as he ran.

All three of them began to head straight towards the barn as the two of them got the guns out, Ivy had no gun or protection for that matter so she wasn't feeling very confident anymore.

"He's in here... call Hotch" Spencer said as they hid behind the side of the barn.

"We're in the middle of nowhere Spencer we have no cell service" Ivy answered him.

"Oh great of course we have no service right JJ you go around the front I'll go around the back and Ivy you stay here" Spencer spoke as JJ looked skeptical.

"Spencer I don't think we're meant to split up" Ivy questioned as JJ looked at her.

"No he's right I'll go this way and he'll go around the back but you shouldn't stay here on you're own you have no gun so follow Spencer's lead I'll be fine on my own" JJ reassured the girl.

"Are you sure you'll be okay" Ivy asked as JJ smiled and shook her head.

Ivy took off in the same direction Spencer had ran towards, this was the first time she felt nervous on a case but she knew her dad felt like that most of the time and he always told her to fake it till you make it so that's what she'd do.

"JJ.. Ivy he's out back" Spencer tried to shout quietly and Ivy followed the sound of his voice.

"Spencer will you wait up for me I can't see you" Ivy whispered as he came out from the corn field.

"Oh thank god.. JJ is still inside the barn where did you say he went" Ivy asked him as her heart was nearly jumping out of her chest.

"He's in here somewhere... we'll both go in together just follow exactly where I go okay" he told the girl as he stared down at her.

"Yeah okay hurry up or he'll get away" she spoke quietly.

They both made there way into the corn field, Spencer was in front of Ivy with his gun drawn as Ivy followed behind him. They heard something in the distance and began following the voices, there was two voices speaking to one another but when they both saw Tobias standing on his own they released there was never two unsubs it was always just one, Tobias had multiple personality disorder.

Gunshots came from the barn as the two of them began to run back towards JJ. They had almost reached the barn when something knocked Spencer unconscious.

"Spencer" Ivy screamed as she stared down at the boy on the ground.

"Not so fast pretty lady" Tobias spoke but it wasn't his voice that came out of his mouth it was another personality.

Ivy began to back away from him as he grabbed her and threw her to the floor.

"JJ" she screamed as Tobias stood above her.

"Nobody is going to help you little girl except for me" that was the last thing she heard before he grabbed her head and knocked it back onto the ground.

This is probably one of my favourite episodes of criminal minds.

I really enjoyed writing this one but at the same time it's taken me ages to write it, I've had no motivation recently.

But having said that I'm ready to put Ivy through a lot from now on this is only the beginning.
