Untold Casualties

Before you hold your weapons,

listen to a tale.

A tale that occurs still

to this very day.

Somewhere on that endless canvas,

among those flickers we call stars;

a tale that travelled through wind and storm.

Miles and miles, it came so far.

Once upon a time, there dwindled a star

that burst to flames.

But our sky remained the same.

Only a flicker, before it faded away.

And the colors diminished to nothing.

Regardless the sun had to rule.

As for our sky,

Its shadow it didn't lose.

Losing the star among millions

didn't make our sky regret.

For others would shine for it.

But a universe lost a sunset.
